Send us a textAir Date: September 29, 2025 on 91.3FM WVKR-This week on In the Field Radio, Erin Boogie and Rapz go all in on the latest in music and culture. They break down Young Thug's new project and ask the question everyone's thinking: what's really up with all the Mariah The Scientist features? They celebrate Doja Cat making history as the only female rap artist to drop an album with zero outside writing credits, and debate whether Cardi B's double platinum status—boosted by her older tracks—should really count. Plus, Cardi takes over the NYC subway as its new voice, Don Q shows out with a freestyle at Kai Cenat's Mafiathon, and Bad Bunny locks in the Super Bowl Halftime show.On this week's Unfiltered & Unqualified segment, the duo gets real about relationships: what happens when one partner's sex drive is through the roof and the other is a little too vanilla? Stay or go?Boogie and Rapz also sit down with Bronx-born, Jamaican-American rapper LA8, signed to Corner Music Entertainment. With sharp lyricism and authentic storytelling, LA8 is carving out his lane as one to watch. In the latest episode of The Intellectual but Ignant, the gang is finally back together after a short hiatus— We were joined by Twin, aka Tashima Freeman (who's also running for Council in the South Fulton City District), along with the always outspoken Aggy Amber and Skii mask Boogie was in the building as well We touched on a little bit of everything — from thoughts on the Charlie Kirk situation to what's going on in Atlanta's music scene. We also reflected on the year so far, the lessons we've picked up along the way, and how we're all just out here trying to make it, because life is definitely life'n. This episode definitely leaned way more on the ignant side than intellectual — but that's just how we do sometimes. So yea kick back relax and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Sal and BT debated the New York Yankees' chances heading into the final weekend of the season, with the team tied for the AL East lead. Sal confidently predicted a sweep of the Orioles, arguing the Yankees are on a "mission" and possess a winning energy that will secure the division and set them up for an easy path in the playoffs. BT agreed, stating the Yankees have had a "championship look" for the last five weeks and admitting his earlier doubts about the season have been erased, making a World Series win feel entirely possible. Both agreed that a deep run would force critics to give credit to both Aaron Boone and GM Brian Cashman.
Send us a textAir Date: September 22, 2025 on 91.3FM WVKR-In this episode of In the Field Radio, Erin Boogie and Rapz dive into the chaos of the week in music and culture. While the 20-year-old artist is cooperating with police and has not been named a suspect, questions still surround the tragic case. And in this week's edition of Unfiltered & Unqualified, Rapz says sometimes you've got to trick your shorty into hitting the gym, while Boogie argues if you're not attracted to your partner, maybe it's time to let them find someone who is.Press play and get in the field.Support the showFollow In the Field Radio here. Don't be scuuuurrrred, the Halloween season is near! We dove into the 1995 horror anthology movie Tales from the Hood.Tales from the Hood is a horror anthology about three young men who visit a mysterious funeral home, where the eccentric mortician tells them four supernatural stories that blend scares with social commentary on issues like police brutality, racism, and domestic violence.

I remember it like it was yesterday! For months my parents had been talking about a vacation. They'd heard about Destin, FL and were making plans for our family to go. We'd looked over the brochures, picked the best place to go, and booked the trip. My dad came home the evening before our 7½-hour drive with a rented minivan. I thought we were living in style! We crammed it full of our stuff and tried to get some sleep. The night flew by, and waking up at 3 AM felt like being in a whirlwind as we climbed into the van. The soundtrack for the entire drive to Florida was Brooks & Dunn's album Hard Workin' Man, and as much as I love me some Boot Scootin' Boogie, it didn't take young Matthew very long to start asking the question, “Are we there yet?” “How much longer?” “What is taking so long?”Many of us ask this same question of the Lord and His return. How much longer is this experience of a broken world going to take? How much longer is God going to keep us waiting? Didn't He say He'd return soon! This weekend we wrap up our series in Revelation by looking at the final chapters and God's words through John, who says that soon He will arrive! I can't wait for that day, but until then we will join together in saying, Come, Lord Jesus!Pastor Matt McCarter

Hello Groovers, Today's episode of Liquid Sunshine was nothing short of a disco revelation, showcasing the raw power and timeless appeal of authentic 12-inch disco classics. Opening with Peter Brown's explosive "Crank It Up," the show immediately established its intention to deliver serious dancefloor ammunition from the first beat. Frantique's "Strut Your Funky Stuff" followed, proving that when disco was done right, it was an unstoppable force of nature. The tracklist read like a who's who of disco's golden age, featuring both celebrated legends and criminally underrated gems that deserve their moment in the spotlight. Evelyn Champagne King's powerful rendition of "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In" brought that unmistakable vocal prowess that defined the era's best singers. Dan Hartman's "Instant Replay" reminded listeners why he was one of disco's most innovative producers, while Roy Ayers' "Get on Up, Get on Down" delivered that signature jazz-funk fusion that made him a crossover legend. Two Man Sound's "Que Tal America" added an international flavor that showed disco's global reach and influence. The deeper cuts proved equally compelling, with Five Letters delivering a double dose of funky excellence through both "Tha Kee Tha Tha" and "Crazy Man." George McRae's "Don't You Feel My Love" showcased the soulful side of disco that connected directly to its R&B roots. Voggue's "Roller Boogie" captured the pure joy and escapism that made disco a cultural phenomenon, while Freddie James' "Get Up and Boogie" was exactly what its title promised—an irresistible call to the dancefloor. Le Pamplemousse's "Planet of Love" offered cosmic disco at its finest, creating otherworldly soundscapes that transported listeners beyond the everyday. Stone's "Time" demonstrated the genre's ability to be both philosophical and thoroughly danceable. Paul Sabu's "Shotgun" brought rock-tinged energy to the mix, proving disco's versatility and broad appeal. The inclusion of Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" was a masterstroke, representing disco royalty alongside lesser-known but equally powerful tracks. T-Connection's "Midnight" added late-night sophistication, while Ramsey Lewis offered a jazz legend's take on "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In," creating an interesting counterpoint to Evelyn King's earlier version. The show closed with Linx's "You're Lying," a perfect ending that left listeners wanting more. Every track was selected for maximum impact, with bass lines that could move mountains and rhythms that demanded physical response. This was disco curation at its finest—a reminder that when you dig deep enough, the treasures you uncover can still move crowds decades later. Today's Liquid Sunshine proved once again why the show remains essential listening for anyone serious about funk, groove, and the timeless power of great music.
