Hey music lovers! Time to look back on some of our favourite funky flavours from the past twelve months in this extra special 'Best of 2025' Hang Loose show. There's a heap of hip-hop in the house, plenty of party beats, some soul, funk and a fat sack of other top tracks that kept us bopping from January to December. Plus, some Xmas rapping from our new Christmas EP, a tune from the Jalapeno Twenty Five compilation, some picks from our own productions from the last year, and a blazing B2B mix to warm yer cockles. Hope you had a good year. Send us a textIn this episode of The Fixate & Binge Podcast, host Joe sits down with writer/director Vito Trupiano, actor Shiloh Fernandez, and breakout newcomer Alyx Ruibal to dive deep into their heartfelt 2024 film HELLBENT ON BOOGIE.They discuss the origins of this unexpectedly tender story, the challenges and joys of making an intimate family drama, and the genuine on-screen chemistry that drives the film. Alyx opens up about portraying Quinn, a character with Autism — an experience rooted in her own lived perspective — while Shiloh shares what drew him to the role of Alan, the well-meaning, rough-edged older brother fighting to help his sister chase her dream.Vito offers a behind-the-camera look at his filming approach, balancing grit, humor, and emotional honesty in a story that recalls LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE.With great vibes and even greater heart, this conversation celebrates authenticity, family, and the power of telling stories that matter. HELLBENT ON BOOGIE is now streaming on TUBI, MUBI, and Apple TV.Thank you for listening! DEEP DIVE for Past Week - Next Week 11-23-2025: Featuring Chris, Paul, Boogie, and Brian, which offers a light-hearted recap of current events and personal stories. Topics range from political commentary, including a discussion about Marjorie Taylor Green and Donald Trump, and updates on the Epstein files, to personal anecdotes about rock climbing, attending a comedy reunion, and new job roles. The show also incorporates a news quiz and introduces a new segment called "Two Hit Wonder," where participants try to guess the main song of a one-hit wonder artist based on their lesser-known second track. Throughout the recording, the hosts maintain a humorous and casual tone, providing listeners with a mix of current affairs and entertainment.
This was my first one for a little while - personal and technological issues have been getting in the way once again. So it felt good to be back on for a full two hour mix! Started with a small tribute to the legend Jimmy Cliff, as the news of his passing broke a few hours before. Then into some moody and deep vibes for a while until I switched things up, we went to Africa for a while, slowed things down for some future funk, then cranked matters back up for some disco house stompers and a cheeky demo from myself. Here is my annual lounge music recap from last year. This is all the non-house stuff, filled with soul, rn'b, hip hop, a ton of edits (including a handful of my own), nudisco, daytime disco, amapiano, kaytranada type beats, retro remixes, boogie edits, even some drum & bass...all the good stuff! Not all necessarily released in 2024, but I discovered the songs last year.So fix yourself a drink, sit back and enjoy the vibes (or lets be real, throw it on in the background while working or doing your household chores lol!)And if you hate how late these mixes are getting posted here on Podomatic, head over to Mixcloud where they're all posted on time!Subscribe on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id306968245Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dj_j_meBookings & Merch: jamiewichartz @ yahoo.ca

Boogie-woogie went mainstream in America during the war, as evidenced by the music of Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters.

Send us a textAir Date: November 3, 2025 on 91.3FM WVKR-This week on In the Field Radio, Erin Boogie & Rapz are back with a post-Halloween recap!
Hello again. We've finally swept up the ectoplasm, deactivated the haunted portal, and located studio cats. Which can only mean one thing — the séance is over, Halloween has passed, and it's now that strange liminal period where people are still finding fake cobwebs in their hair. Also known as: the week of Bonfire Night. Yeah we remembered the fifth. We're back to continue our discussion sbout — yes, the Disney Channel Original Movie about Boogie monsters and bed looking... If you're new here, I'm Janet — your friendly neighborhood voiceover bot and the only one still seeing spectral pop stars in they RAM. Don't worry, the exorcism took... Mostly. Now, the usual disclaimers: there will be spoilers, there will be profanity, and there will be at least one moment where someone accidentally says something profound in a deeply sarcastic way... If you'd like to catch up, revisit the memories, or simply marvel at how many weeks we've spent casting pods, head to B S Reactor dot com — the place where reason goes for a nap and chaos makes a playlist. Now then — dust off your broomsticks, extinguish the last jack-o-lanterns, and let's get back to Don't look under the bed post-Halloween edition.
This week on The Camp Citrus Show, D-Nice and Dot Solo are back in the booth catching up on everything that's been going down lately! From the sights, sounds, and fried goodness of the NC State Fair, to a deep dive into the cult classic Spinal Tap, the guys keep the laughs rolling. They also chop it up about Alive After Five, sharing stories, music vibes, and more. It's a mix of good conversation, wild tangents, and that signature Camp Citrus energy you love. Sit back, relax, and enjoy another fun-filled ride with D-Nice and Dot Solo — it's always a good time when these two link up. campcitrus@gmail.com

Episode 370: DJ BOOGIE BLIND "The Death of Originality in DJ Culture" This week on @RoadPodcast, the crew sits down with @BoogieBlind to talk about his Bronx roots, coming up with Lyrics to Go, and learning from Roc Raida (2:10). Blind shares how he chose DJing over basketball after seeing Roc Raida's success and reflects on the original “X-Men Rules” (9:10). He pays respect to Clark Kent, opens up about his battle DJ mentality, and talks about “protecting his energy” in an era where copying is normalized (12:10). Crooked and Blind discuss the “me against the world” mindset of battle DJs, how relationships change as you grow (15:16), and the difference between people's online personas and real-life character. Boogie calls today's scene “the most cut-and-paste generation of DJs” and addresses imitation, technology, and Serato's impact (26:05). They debate content vs. ability, give props to younger DJs pushing boundaries (24:01), and Blind shares his approach to sets: half battle DJ, half party rocker (32:01). He recalls playing @Shaboozey at Dante's Hi-Fi, discusses vinyl culture, and opens up about self-doubt, crowd control, and staying a fan of the craft (44:01). Blind also speaks on his party “Easily” (51:01), the mic game in the 2010s (1:00:01), his love for island music and production (1:13:01), and the crew's take on quick mixing (1:27:01).
