The world loses an estimated 5% of annual revenues to fraud. Len Scanlan shares his thoughts on fraud from a public sector perspective. Len Scanlan has extensive experience in auditing, particularly in the public sector. He was Auditor-General of Queensland from 1997 to 2004 and in this role was responsible for the audits of all local governments and State public sector entities. A current Fellow and former Queensland President of CPA Australia, he is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Institute of Internal Auditors (Australia), the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Public Administration Australia. Currently, he sits on multiple boards and operates a consultancy focusing on audit committees, governance and boards
All businesses are subject to the risk of fraud. The world loses an estimated 5% of annual revenues to fraud, according to a recent study by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. David Van Homrigh shares insights and lessons on five fraud case studies that changed organisations. David Van Homrigh is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and an Adjunct Professor in the University of Queensland Business School. He is a very experienced Forensic Accountant, having formed the business, KPMG Forensic, in 1998 and for a period of 8 years he was a member of the Global KPMG Forensic Steering Group leading the development of the global Forensic business within KPMG International. His experience in litigation and fraud has included numerous major matters across Asia Pacific and in a number of different sectors including government, mining and resources, telecommunications, ship building and motor vehicle manufacturing, amongst others. Major engagements have included asset tracing, fraud investigations, anti-bribery and corruption investigations and due diligence reviews, expert evidence in major litigation and arbitration disputes, and post-acquisition disputes.

Sharlene is the founding director of Veritas Corporation, specialising in Assurance and Forensic Accounting services. She is a Registered Company Auditor and has significant experience auditing across various legislative frameworks, and is known for her practical approach.
