Here we go... Gold medal match up: Canada v USA The boys chat about the two semis, then focus on Tuesday night's Gold medal match up.
Canada/ Russia. Czechs/Americans. The table is set for the semi finals on Monday night in Edmonton.
Canada plays the Czech Republic in one of Saturday's Quarter Finals... but the other three match ups are also intriguing. Paul and Bryn take a look at who's playing who. Plus it's prediction time.
Quinton Byfield with a 6 point night... as Canada romped past Switzerland 10-0. Today the guys talk about the game and if Team Canada is truly ready for bigger and more important match ups ahead? We also preview the New Years Eve game Canada/Finland. Plus we announced our Azorcan World Juniors contest to win a Pierre-Luc Dubois Team Canada jersey (courtesy Fandemonium).
That was a close one... but another Team Canada win! This time 3-1 over Slovakia. Our thoughts? You got them. This year's event is minutes away from our homes, yet we can't be there in person this year. COVID-19 has been the ultimate game changer for the fans, yet the World Junior Hockey Championship got underway on Christmas Day. We will still be watching closely AND will share our thoughts after each Team Canada game.
That wasn't very pretty... as Canada crushed Germany 16-2 in the opener for the Canadians. This year's event is minutes away from our homes, yet we can't be there in person this year. COVID-19 has been the ultimate game changer for the fans, yet the World Junior Hockey Championship got underway on Christmas Day. We will still be watching closely AND will share our thoughts after each Team Canada game.

There was a good reason we took eight months off from posting an update... and Bryn explains why.
Paul and Bryn look back at the 2020 World Juniors recap... it's been awhile!
Our long wait is over.. it's GOLD for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship. BTW- Congrats to TSN's Gord Miller for celebrating 25 years at this championship. A huge part of a Canadian hockey fans Holiday Hockey season.
One of our younger fans on the tour wanted to do his first ever podcast... it was for a school project... so we were more than happy to help him out. Aidan Moorhead hit it out out of the ball park. So we chatted and I asked him if he wanted us to post it on our site... his big smile said it all. IF you have a few minutes and you want to hear a 14 year old on his way to big things... give it a quick listen. Cheers, Bryn
We have our Gold Medal match up... it's Canada/Russia... suit the semi finals were very interesting with different challenges.
Canada beats Slovakia in the Quarter Final and now it's on to Saturday's Semi Final game. The Boys look better with each game, but this one had some interesting moments. Especially 53 seconds in to the game. Paul hung around the rink for the last Quarter Final game, so long-time broadcaster, now part time columnist for the Edmonton SUN stepped in to join the fun.
Canada with an impressive win over the home town Czechs to wrap up the preliminary round and now it's off to the Quarter Finals on Thursday against Slovakia. We'll talk about the game, some of the hockey people we met, and then how we survived the New Years Eve party. It's been a total blast over here!
Canada beat Germany 4-1 to get the train back on track. It also gives the Red and White a shot at clinching top spot in the pool, but the Czech Republic will stand in their way on New Years Eve. We also talk about the overall experience of doing this tour, plus how much fun it is to meet folks from all over Canada.
Team Canada faced a determined Team Russia and it was an absolute mess. They never were in it as Russia turned up the voice and basically coasted to an easy 6-0 round robin victory. SO we try to break it down (gently) and focus on what needs to be done as they get ready for their next match up against Germany.
People actually stopped by to listen to us tonight... BUT there was beer. We just decided at the last minute to do an extra podcast and start talking about Canada/Russia... plus lots off other stuff too. Just trying to have some fun in the Czech Republic and cheer on Team Canada.
Day One of the World Junior Hockey Championship.... didn't disappoint. A shocking Czech Republic win over Russia and Canada battled to victory over the USA in a barn burner. The Boys grabbed a VERY late coffee and had a few thoughts.
