I didn't realize I was breathing so shallow.  Oxygenating my lungs & brain initially made me feel dizzy and anxious, which can be typical experiences when first learning deep breathing.  As I continued practicing, I increased my lung capacity, I reduced my need for my inhaler (I had asthma), and I increased my overall sense of well-being. ~15 years later my asthma is gone.  I also realized my asthma was triggered by stress and anxiety.  Once I learned how to breathe & manage stress, my asthma disappeared.  Still hard to believe!That's just one profound way how meditation and breath work have made a difference in my life.These episodes are posted at 7am PST. According to various online sites, "self-care" is a term that became popular within the medical community in the 1950's. Regardless of its origin, the definition of the phrase is flawed. It's missing the soul: "Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact."--National Institute of Mental Health ("Caring for Your Mental Health," NIMH) What about the soul? Doesn't it need self-care, too? Yes, it does. God knows how to guide us into the best overall self-care, and He doesn't limit it to just the physical and mental aspects. His Word nourishes, strengthens, and fortifies our souls as well.  "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:23) We are more than physical bodies with mental faculties. The soul is our "inner person" and it needs daily self-care. In an interview in New Hampshire for the primary, Trump is asked about Haley's insistence he is not competent and in one answer invokes Dr. Ronny Jackson, can't remember his name, recalls it, moves to a different topic, and then brings up Ronny Jackson again - as if for the first time. There's a reason Ron DeSantis did NOT end his campaign, but, like Ramaswamy, only suspended it. Like Haley, they both know that something above-and-beyond all previous problems has hit Trump and they will stay quietly and obediently in the background until it - or something else - comes and gets him. There is little to report from New Hampshire, though the networks and newspapers will report it anyway. They will also tell you that Trump did better in Iowa than he will in the Granite State even though the reverse is true - because math may be hard but bucking the conventional wisdom is harder. Trump got 51% of the voters (and 7% of all Republicans) in Iowa. He may get 57% in N.H. That would be MORE.
