Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, and Beau Morgan react to Team U.S.A officially punching its ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Baseball Classic with Italy's 9-1 win over Mexico yesterday at Daikin Park in Houston after Team USA's Manager Mark DeRosa mistakenly boasted Team USA had already advanced in World Baseball Classic before the team's shocking loss to Italy on Tuesday. Mike, Ali, and Beau also debate about whether or not it's a bad look that Team USA Manager Mark DeRosa didn't know they could still be eliminated when he made his initial comments.
We revisit the Maxx Crosby situation in Las Vegas. Are the raiders going to come down on their asking price for Crosby after the Ravens nixed the trade? The Ravens said he didn't pass their physical, but it was convenient that they had Trey Hendrickson signed right away and it's seeming like they just got cold feet and backed out of the trade. The Raiders made a lot of moves in free agency, but still have cap room for Crosby and they're playing it up like they really want him and he really wants to be there. Will any other team step up and make an offer for Crosby that the Raiders can't refuse? :30- We're trying something new and putting the listeners in charge! Sup? It's a simple question with less simple answers. :45- Phew! The US made it through to the quarterfinals of the WBC, but we definitely didn't need that tension and stress! Now the US will face Canada on Friday at 5pm and they're allowed to make roster changes. Skubal, Wacha and Yarborough are now all off the roster, being replaced by Tim Hill, Tyler Rogers and Will Vest… See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We survived the windstorm! Maxx Crosby is clearly re-thinking his future in Las Vegas and the Raiders seem to be mending the relationship with their star, or is it all being done just to maintain his trade value and lure in potential trade partners? :30- Team USA advances to the WBC quarterfinals thanks to Team Italy and Vinnie Pasquantino. Did Italy really want to win for themselves and to help out Team USA? Perhaps. :45- Cal vs Randy is still a thing and other teams are sending a message to the US as Fernando Tatis and William Contreras hugged at the plate before the DR/Venezuela game yesterday. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning open Thursday's show by discussing Canada's historic win over Cuba to advance the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals. They highlight the strong performances from Cal Quantrill, Owen Caissie, and James Paxton, while looking ahead to Canada's chances against the United States and the tournament favourites. After the break, they break down the Raptors' disappointing loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the shift in the team's recent vibes, and the lack of response after Jamal Shead was hit late in the game. They close by reacting to Gary Bettman's comments on NHL parity, debating whether parity should be the league's goal, the value of dynasties, and how factors like taxes and weather affect competitive balance. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

We return the conversation to baseball and the WBC. Was it a massive upset that Italy beat the US last night? No, but it would be a huge upset if the US doesn't make it out of pool play because the US thought they'd already punched their ticket to the quarterfinals. How much of this is on manager Mark DeRosa? :30- AL KINISKY (KAN Color Analyst) What is going on with Bobby McMann's paperwork? When can we expect the newest member of the Kraken to actually play in a game? Matty Beniers is showing some toughness and grit and we like it! Can the Kraken get the job done in this last stretch of the season? :45- We wrap up our show with one last thing! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and 12th Man News with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune) We have to start with the Maxx Crosby news… now that the trade to the Ravens has been nixed, are the Seahawks back in the mix? Riq Woolen is headed to Philadelphia, but only on a one-year deal. Geno Smith is on his way back to the NY Jets… will it work the second time around? :30- Ok, so maybe this Cal and Randy is a thing… Cal made a statement ahead of last night's game and said he reached out to Randy, but it doesn't appear that Randy responded. Are we concerned that this will cause problems in the Clubhouse when the guys are back with the Mariners? No, we think it will absolutely be resolved by then, but it's definitely more of a thing than we originally thought. :45- It's time to get Reckless at Breakfast! Does the format of the WBC need to be changed? Should pool play be eliminated? Do the eligibility rules need to be changed for players representing other countries?
