Ben and Tumaini discuss the eight quarterfinals played at Roland Garros and the semifinals that are now set up, starting with the men and going in reverse chronological order. We start with Arnaldi winning The Battle Of The Matteos, setting up an all-Italian semifinal against Flavio Cobolli after Cobolli handed Felix Auger-Aliassime a bitter defeat. On the bottom half, we discuss Jakub Mensik stepping up against Joao Fonseca, and if anyone can stop heavy favorite Alexander Zverev, who has breezed through a pretty soft draw. On the women's side, we start with the shocking loss of No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who seemed to be in full control before losing 12 of the last 13 games against Diana Shnaider to crash out. There were echoes of last year's defeat to Gauff, but this year's press conference was more good humored. We then discuss the surprise run of Maja Chwalinska and the strong Kostyuk-Andreeva semifinal on the bottom half. Lastly, we get into the news that the Serena comeback is now official, even if we really have no idea what to expect yet as Serena hasn't set any expectations yet. A reminder that is still a 15% discount on Bounces subscriptions during this French Open! Thank you for listening! Our Patreon is back up and running to ensure NCR keeps going and stays ad-free, and we hope you can join in supporting NCR! And we especially thank our GOAT backers: Pam Shriver and J. O'D.

Once again, IL's Terry Foy and Nick Ossello press record during the fourth quarter of the final game of the weekend — this time it wasn't as dramatic as Duke closed out Georgetown, 16-6, to become the fourth team to punch its ticket to Saturday's NCAA Semifinals in Charlottesville, Va.Rewinding to Saturday, they begin with Syracuse's dramatic 13-11 win over North Carolina, replete with injury drama, an important missed (non-reviewable call), a field surface controversy and most importantly, vindication for the sport's biggest star? From there, they dive into Notre Dame's pull-away win over Johns Hopkins, highlighted by Josh Yago's legacy game. They unpack Princeton's similar pull-away win over Penn State to start Sunday, itself marked by injury drama.Last week was by far our most-listened to episode of the season. The latest episode of the D‑Fly & Dixie Podcast arrives just in time for quarterfinal weekend, and the guys bring back longtime friend of the show Christian Swezey to help break down all four matchups. They open with a look back at a wild first round — including Johns Hopkins' gritty road win at Cornell, where the Blue Jays “won a playoff game on the road with a goalie who made three saves” and Luke Martin earned two bananas from the Blue Jays' banana crew. From travel‑day chaos to behind‑the‑scenes ops decisions, Christian shares what really shapes NCAA tournament success. The crew then dives into each quarterfinal, starting with Hopkins–Notre Dame, where the Irish's defensive backbone and the emergence of goalie Thomas Ricciardelli take center stage. They examine whether Syracuse can finally break through against UNC after two losses, debate Penn State–Princeton as potentially the weekend's best game, and unpack how Georgetown's toughness — galvanized by the team rallying around teammate James Caretta, who is battling cancer — has fueled the Hoyas' surge into the final eight.Packed with insight, storytelling, and quarterfinal stakes, it's one of the most comprehensive breakdowns of the season.GAME PREVIEWSSaturday, May 16Shuart Stadium, Hempstead, N.Y.Johns Hopkins (10-5) vs. No. 2 Notre Dame (11-2) | noon | ESPNU | ND -2.5/20.5No. 3 North Carolina (13-4) vs. No. 6 Syracuse (12-5) | 2:30 p.m. | ESPNU | UNC -1.5/23.5Sunday, May 17Delaware Stadium, Newark, Del. Nebraska Football fans, we're breaking down Stewart Mandel's 10 Commandments to fix college football and what each one means for the Huskers, the Big Ten, and the future of the sport. We get into whether the SEC has actually lost its grip on college football, why the 12-team playoff needs to grow to 16, and why those first-round byes keep blowing up in everyone's faces. From there it's campus quarterfinals, killing the FCS cupcake game, the NIL Go clearinghouse mess and the Nebraska lawsuit that could blow the whole thing up, plus the five-for-five eligibility rule and what it means for guys like Cam Lenhart, Andrew Marshall, and Anthony Cavalleri. We hammer the case for a real college football commissioner, a players union, and actual contracts so the transfer portal stops being a free-for-all every January. Matt Rhule called it "professional collegiate football" on the Sharp & Benning show this week and yeah, that's exactly what it is. Treat it that way. We also hit the Trey Taylor Rivals camp QB MVP news, the dumb spoof story about Dylan Raiola bolting Oregon for Texas Tech after the Brennan Saurusbee stuff, and why the preseason AP poll needs to die or at least wait three weeks. Oh, and Nick Saban or Pat McAfee for commissioner? Hard pass on both. 00:00 Intro and Thanks for Sticking Around 02:00 Has the SEC Lost Its Luster? 04:37 12-Team Playoff or Go to 16? 10:20 Quarterfinals on Campus, Kill the Bye 18:30 Two Super Conferences Are Coming 28:30 NIL Go, the Clearinghouse, and the Nebraska Lawsuit 35:20 Five-for-Five and What It Means for Cam Lenhart 35:50 Rhule Said It: Professional Collegiate Football If you enjoyed this episode, please Like and Subscribe! #gbr #huskers #nebraska #cfb #b1g Learn more about your ad choices. The NBA Playoffs just leveled up — and The Prophets are here for the Quarterfinals. Kev and Rashad kick things off with a Round 1 recap, highlighting the shocking run from Los Angeles Lakers as they pulled off a statement upset over the Houston Rockets. Plus, two teams clawed back from 3-1 deficits, proving this postseason is anything but predictable. From there, the focus shifts to the next round — where respect is given to LeBron James… but Kev sees a reality check coming, with Oklahoma City Thunder ready to make a statement. In the West, Rashad drops a bold take: without Anthony Edwards at full strength, the San Antonio Spurs could dominate the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 4-1 series. Over in the East, it's a split between The Prophets. Rashad is riding with the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Kev is locking in with the Detroit Pistons. The big questions: can Tobias Harris stay hot, and is this finally the year Donovan Mitchell breaks through to the Eastern Conference Finals? To close it out, it's Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks — and while both hosts are leaning Philly, Rashad is already anticipating a classic Knicks collapse. Still, there's a real path for either squad to take control of the series.Quarterfinals energy is different… and The Prophets are calling every shot.
