2025 was a big year for the Supreme Court, as it repeatedly handed win after win to the Trump administration. Emergency Orders, also known as the shadow docket, let President Donald Trump keep his tariffs in place, withhold foreign aid and conduct immigration raids largely based on racial profiling. But lawsuits filed by complainants mean that many of these cases will be ultimately decided in the new year. Hot button issues such as transgender athletes in sports, whether birthright citizenship is a constitutional right and if redistricting efforts in Louisiana have effectively disenfranchised voters are among many impactful decisions we expect to hear in 2026. USA TODAY Justice Department Correspondent Aysha Bagchi joins The Excerpt to share how these cases and others might impact life in America.Let us know what you think of this episode by sending an email to podcasts@usatoday.com. In this episode of the Career Change Maker Podcast, I explore what happens when your career looks successful on the outside, but feels misaligned on the inside. So many high-achieving women reach a point in mid-career where everything appears to be going well - the title, the experience, the trajectory...yet there's a quiet sense of dissatisfaction that won't go away. Not because they've failed, but because they've grown.I talk about why this tension is so common, why it often shows up after years of building momentum, and how staying in roles that no longer fit the season of life you're in can slowly drain your energy. I also share reflections from my own journey of moving away from private practice as a corporate lawyer, and why permission, not urgency was the turning point for me.If you've been asking yourself āIs this it?ā or going back and forth about whether you should make a change, this episode will help you pause, listen to the information your body and mind are giving you, and think more intentionally about what alignment looks like now.ā What You'll Learn in This EpisodeWhy feeling dissatisfied in a āgood on paperā career is more common than you thinkHow misalignment often shows up in mid-career for high-achieving womenThe hidden energy cost of staying in roles that no longer fit your season of lifeWhy clarity matters more than urgency when considering a career pivotHow to move out of mental looping and into intentional decision-making
December 17, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 65 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers. We discuss the recent transactions made by the Steelers in addition to the team bringing in quite a few players for visits on Tuesday and the likely reasons for that. Former Steelers WR Ke'Shawn Williams was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, so we make sure to hit on that little nugget of news as well. Either the Steelers or the Baltimore Ravens will win the AFC North division this year and on top of that, neither team is likely to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team. Because of all that, and based on what may or may not happen in Week 16, Alex and I wonder if there could be a situation where either the Steelers or the Ravens, or even both teams, wind up resting players in Week 17 in preparation for a winner-take-all game against each other in Week 18. After poor and inconclusive discussion about potential scenarios in Week 17, Alex and I began our weekly recap of the all-22 tape of the Steelers' last game, the Monday night win against the Miami Dolphins. We start on the offensive side of the football for the Steelers and spend a lot of time discussing the play of T Dylan Cook against the Dolphins. We go over the other good, bad and ugly related to the Monday night offensive all-22 tape. After thoroughly discussing the offensive tape from Week 15, Alex and I then do the same when it comes to the defensive side of the football. We discuss the Steelers defense shutting down the Dolphins' running game on Monday night and how the unit went about limiting the Miami passing game for most of the game as well. Are the Steelers currently a team that could make some noise in the playoffs this year, assuming they indeed do wind up making the postseason tournament? Alex and address that question after we are finished discussing the Monday win against the Dolphins. This 87-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Hour 2 dives into the Dolphins' quarterback dilemma, exploring what the team would do if they move on from Tua Tagovailoa. Dave Hyde argues Zach Wilson should get the first shot, while Joe emphasizes how much the organization has done to support Tua, praising Mike McDaniel's creativity and leadership in maintaining locker-room accountability. Hyde also questions whether Tua's approachāprotecting his health over pushing in key momentsāfits the NFL mold, summing up his tenure in Miami as āa rough six years.ā The segment also touches on high school football highlights, including state titles for Palm Beach County and American Heritage Plantation, and previews the Miami Hurricanes' playoff matchup at Texas A&M.
