Episode 162 — Advantage Arsenal: Narrow First Leg Win After a Dominant Performance at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup Semi-FinalThe boys are back as Gav, Ells and special guest JJ react to Arsenal's first-leg victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup semi-final — a night that delivered control, chances, and a narrow advantage that perhaps didn't reflect the balance of play. The discussion begins with Arsenal's approach to the tie, including selection choices, goalkeeper debate, and how the team set the tone early. With Arsenal dominating large stretches of the first half, the panel explore why a strong performance failed to translate into a more commanding scoreline, touching on chance creation, shot selection, and decision-making in key moments. There's detailed analysis of Arsenal's midfield structure and evolving roles, including how balance, chemistry, and positioning continue to develop as personnel return from injury. The conversation also examines set-piece execution, attacking movement, and what different striker profiles bring to Arsenal's play — particularly in moments where control needs to become separation.Defensively, the episode breaks down the goals conceded, game management in knockout football, and how small errors can shift momentum even during dominant spells. Goalkeeper involvement, box control, and recovery actions are all discussed as Arsenal once again navigate fine margins in a semi-final setting. In the second half, focus turns forward. The panel preview Arsenal's upcoming trip to Nottingham Forest, discussing defensive availability, workload management, and how Arsenal should approach a fixture shaped as much by desperation as quality. There's also discussion around key Premier League matches elsewhere, including the Manchester derby and Tottenham vs West Ham, and what those results could mean in the wider title picture. The episode closes with the Who Am I? game, featuring a former Arsenal forward whose career took him across Europe — and prompts a few nostalgic reflections along the way.A first-leg advantage secured, questions still to answer, and a season entering a defining stretch.Chapters:(00:00) - Arteta's Non-Negotiables Intro(00:50) - Chelsea Semi-Final Context & Selection Decisions(02:35) - Goalkeeper Debate: Structure, Crosses & Build-Up Play(04:20) - Fast Start & Early Pressure at Stamford Bridge(05:06) - 0-1 | Set-Piece Breakthrough and Corner Execution(07:12) - Missed Chances & Shot Selection Frustrations(11:41) - Midfield Balance, Roles & Chemistry Questions(16:49) - First-Half Control Without Separation(18:12) - 0-2 | Gyökeres Finish and Box Presence(21:11) - Attacking Relationships & Service to the Striker(23:15) - 1-2 | Momentum Shift & Defensive Breakdown(26:13) - Garnacho's Face / Most Disliked Players(27:40) - 1-3 | Zubimendi's Goal and Game Control(29:16) - Refereeing, Game Management & Discipline(31:04) - Missed Chances to Kill the Tie(31:44) - 2-3 | Late Goal Conceded & Narrow First-Leg Margin(33:55) - Full-Time Reflection, Stats & First-Leg Takeaways(37:22) - PT.2 Who Am I? Today on the Logan Blackman Show we preview each and every game taking place on Wild Card weekend, though we mostly focus on the Buffalo Bills match-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With that we discuss why a six seed has the most pressure, what this game could mean for Josh Allen's legacy, and what happens when the Bills do or don't advance past this round. We then take some time to discuss the MVP race between Drake Maye and Matthew Stafford, going over each player's resumes before coming to a decision on who should come away with the award. Moving to college football we preview each semi-final match-up in the College Football Playoff, going over who we want to see in the final while also discussing Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore's second meeting and what it could mean for their draft position (should they declare). Speaking of we react to Ty Simpson declaring for the draft, whether that means he's actually in the draft or transferring as well as where he could wind up should he get drafted. Finally, we go over each head coaching vacancy in the NFL and ranking them from best to worst. Enjoy!

We are inching closer and closer to the culmination of the college football season and this week gives us the next step on that journey. The College Football Playoff Semifinals. One of the star quarterbacks in the playoff is fighting to get a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA. Ross Dellenger explains this story and how there is a chance Trinidad Chambliss is back at Ole Miss next season. Then Ross, Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey discuss Chambliss' effect on the Rebel's this season. They breakdown the semifinal matchup against Miami by discussing who has the advantage and what each team needs to do to move on to the Natty. Then, they move over to the other semifinal. This is a rematch from earlier in the year as Oregon takes on Indiana. Indiana got the best of Oregon in Eugene, but the guys talk about how this is a much different Oregon team than it was in the first matchup. They discuss if Oregon will be able to get the best of this dominant Indiana team or if the Hoosiers will claim their spot in the championship game. Plus, they look at how the Big Ten conference was not given enough credit for the strength of its teams this year. Later, Ross reports about the college football calendar changing yet again. No more spring ball? Discussions are being had about changes to the early signing period, games in Week 0, CFP dates, the dates of the portal and spring and summer access periods. Ross, Andy and Godfrey discuss the benefits of changing all of these and what changes should happen to improve the college football calendar.Get ready for the CFP Semifinals with College Football Enquirer.0:00:00 - Trinidad Chambliss petitions for 6th year15:21 - Miami vs. Ole Miss CFP Semifinal28:07 - Oregon vs. Indiana CFP Semifinal48:13 - Fixing the college football calendar Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

FOX Sports' lead College Football analyst Joel Klatt makes his picks for the College Football Playoff Semifinals between Indiana & Oregon and Miami vs Ole Miss. He explains why we should be talking about this Indiana team as one of the most dominant teams in recent memory as they take on the Ducks. Klatt points out Oregon's best path to an upset against the only unbeaten team in the country. He then makes his pick as Miami takes on an Ole Miss team that is coming off a huge win over Georgia but also dealing with continued coaching uncertainty as several staff members are juggling two jobs – for Lane Kiffin's LSU team and for the Rebels - as they prepare for the biggest game in Ole Miss history. Klatt also reacts to the latest Portal news as Indiana has found their QB and WR combo for next year's team. He also discusses the latest moves by Penn State, bringing in DC D'Anton Lynn from USC and Matt Campbell's QB from Iowa State, Rocco Becht. Klatt reacts to Kyle Whittingham's hires at OC and DC for Michigan and the news that several key players for Michigan have entered the Transfer Portal. 0:00-1:56 Intro1:57-14:39 Peach Bowl preview14:40-22:52 Fiesta Bowl preview22:53-27:22 Transfer portal news around CFB Use my code for 10% off your next SeatGeek order*: https://seatgeek.onelink.me/RrnK/KLATT10 Sponsored by SeatGeek. *Restrictions apply.
