Christ Community Church - Love Shelbyville
The Fear of Rejection and Peace That Passes Understanding Mary's life was anything but peaceful when the angel Gabriel showed up and gave her the "good news." What we describe as a lack of peacefulness may actually be our fear revealing itself. How can we find peace when fear is crippling us? By remembering that peace is found in a person not a plan. Sherry Allen shares her story on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Christ Community Church in Shelbyville, KY.
Stepping out of “Community” to become a part of the “Core” is coming to the place where everything is on the table for Christ to use however he wants. But this is so deceptive, we think we’re in, but are we? We’ll look at the parallel stories of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11) and Stephen (6:8-7) and discover the difference.
To be a part of the “Congregation” is to confess that you know Jesus. To step into “Community” is to be known. We’ll contrast the disciples who followed Jesus in John 1:29-51 with the disciples who deserted him in John 6:60-71. Peggy Berry shares her story on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Christ Community Church in Shelbyville, KY.
Follow me—two of the most difficult words Christ speaks to those who come to Him searching for more. In the attempt to follow Christ, we must first be willing to step out of the crowd and into something greater. However, that step costs more than we intend as the words “follow Me” call for surrender of power, status, possessions, and anything else that keeps calling us back into the crowd. The question is...will you follow him fully? Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Christ Community Church in Shelbyville, KY by Kenny Mattingly

Many of us desire peace, but do we value the holiness that leads to peace? This passage reminds us that not only does holiness lead to peace, but the combination of the two allows us to see the Lord as well. Jesus has consumed sin on the cross. He is coming back to consume all evil. In the meantime, what will we allow the Lord to consume in our lives so that we will be ready? Our desires have a way of squeezing discipline out of our lives. But rather than just buckling down and working to be more self-disciplined, maybe we need more of the Lord’s discipline in our lives. God’s discipline reveals a love that is stronger than death. So let’s be open to correction, endure suffering, and learn his way. We get tired of waiting on God sometimes. But in Jesus, what’s in front of us will always get us through what we want to put behind us. As William Carey once said, “Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.” What are you waiting for? There’s a crowd full of people cheering for you to get in the game and join Jesus on the outside. In this life, are we really walking by faith? Or are we just wandering around pretending like we’ve got things under control? To walk by faith, we have to refuse to return to a life of sin, reflect on what Jesus has already done, ready ourselves for the trials ahead, and receive the eternal reward that awaits us. Listen in as Dave Sullivan preaches from Hebrews 10:26-39. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Christ Community Church in Shelbyville, KY

If Jesus really is better, why would we consider trading something real for something ritualistic? Listen in as we consider the ritualistic alternatives we turn to in our world today and dwell on what makes Jesus’ forgiveness real and effective.
