Do you know how your fruits goes from the tree to your dinner table? It should be a simple journey from tree to table, right? But on average fruits and vegetables see 4 different middlemen before arriving in supermarkets. The fruit is picked when it isn’t even ripe yet, and is kept in enormous chilled storing facilities, where they are ripened with different chemicals, waiting to be traded at the best possible price. The fruit market is like a stockmarket of fruits and vegetables. A stockmarket that results in higher prices for consumers, and lower profits for the farmers. Our guests today are Filipe Leal and Mathilde from Fresh.Land a company that, quite simply, eliminates the middlemen, the storing facilities and delivers the fruit and vegetables straight from the farmer to the supermarkets or restaurants.
