Only the R2 Performance is currently available at $57,990, offering 656 hp, 330 miles of range, and a 3.6-second 0–60 time, with the R2 Premium and R2 Standard following later in 2026 and 2027 respectively.RIVIAN ASSISTANT REACHES R1 OWNERSRivian has rolled out its AI-powered voice assistant to existing R1T and R1S owners via firmware update 2026.15, replacing Amazon Alexa and activated by saying "Hey, Rivian" or through steering-wheel controls. The system handles navigation, HVAC, and media playback, requires a Connect+ subscription, works only in English, and processes voice recognition on-device to reduce latency.USED EV PRICES LEAD UK MARKETUsed EVs led the UK used car market for price growth in April 2026 for the first time this year, with prices rising 1.1% month on month — the strongest increase of any fuel type. Higher fuel costs and rising demand for alternative-fuel vehicles drove the surge, with used EV sales volumes up 33% in March and April combined compared to January and February.GREEN TECH NOW SHAPES HOME BUYINGResearch by E.On Next found that 93% of 1,000 prospective UK homebuyers want green energy features such as solar panels and EV charging in their next property, with 70% now considering energy technology non-negotiable. Rising energy costs are the main driver for 52% of respondents, and E.On Next's own sales reflect the trend, with solar and battery sales up 182% and heat pump sales up 129% since February 2026.GRIZZL-E CLUB HITS 10,000 MEMBERSCanada's Grizzl-E Club reached 10,000 members on May 14, 2026, doubling its membership in roughly two months since passing 5,000 in March. Run by United Chargers, the no-fee programme uses Clean Fuel Credits to fund free home charging hardware, lifetime warranties, and energy cashback, with members having received CA$300,000 in rewards to date.GERMAN TRIAL TURNS PARKED EVS INTO FERRY BATTERIESA German research project called BIDI-EL will test using parked EVs at a North Sea ferry terminal as temporary energy storage to help charge electric ferries when they return to port. Led by Osnabrück University and ferry operator Norden-Frisia, the €164,894-funded trial combines solar panels, existing fixed battery storage, and EV batteries to maximise renewable energy use, running until January 2027.RISING POWER BILLS HIT EV CHARGING SATISFACTIONThe J.D. Power 2026 U.S. EVX Home Charging Study found that rising electricity costs and poor owner education are reducing EV satisfaction, with Level 1 portable charger satisfaction dropping 12 points year-over-year to 569 out of 1,000. Only 12% of owners have enrolled in utility smart charging programmes despite 69% awareness, and just 20% of buyers received home charging guidance from their dealer.DISNEYLAND AUTOPIA GOES ELECTRIC IN 2027Disneyland will replace the petrol-powered cars on its iconic Autopia ride with electric vehicles in 2027 as part of Disney's goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2030, following a $56,000 settlement with the California Air Resources Board over emissions violations. Original Autopia car designer Bob Gurr, now 94, confirmed the new electric cars will keep the same dimensions and track layout, with upgraded lighting and sound effects added.

This week on Swimming with Allocators, Erik Balck Sørensen joins Earnest and Alexa to share his journey from serial founder in an almost non-existent Danish startup scene to CIO of Denmark's Export and Investment Fund, a sovereign platform backing innovation at scale. Erik explains how Denmark went from having no venture funds or ecosystem infrastructure to becoming a global player in biotech, green tech, and deep tech, and why “giving back” and tight founder communities were crucial to that evolution. He breaks down what it really means to run a sovereign wealth fund with a dual mandate, balancing financial returns for taxpayers with societal impact, and how political momentum, past missteps, and investment discipline shape their strategy. Erik also details Denmark's 2030 plan: moving faster, professionalizing as an LP and direct investor, and doubling or tripling down on stronghold verticals like life sciences, selected green technologies, quantum computing, and European growth-stage capital. Additionally, Chuck Daly explains how evolving market dynamics, LP demands, and longer-dated, more complex venture products are reshaping the regulatory landscape for VC managers, driving greater scrutiny on valuation, fund structures, and exemptions, and highlighting the value of Sidley's deep, shared institutional expertise for GPs navigating this shift. Highlights from this week's conversation include: Erik's Journey From Founder to Sovereign Wealth CIO (0:13) Community Building and Giving Back Culture (5:26) Corporates, Biotech, Green Tech, and Deep Tech (8:17) What Denmark's Export and Investment Fund Is (9:39) Balancing Political Momentum, Purpose, and Profit (12:52) Small Country Strategy and Global Fund Partnerships (15:51) 2030 Strategy to Move Faster and Smarter (19:42) Priority Verticals: Biotech, Quantum, Green Tech, Growth (32:08) Misconceptions About the Fund and New Operating Style (36:58) Infrastructure Bets: AI Supercomputer and Quantum Facility (40:48) Technological Sovereignty and Europe's Tech Dependence (44:14) Defense Technology Catch-Up with US Partners (48:47) Optimism From Founders and How to Contact Erik (51:01) Denmark´s Export and Investment Fund is a new, state-owned fund which proves a single point of contact to all Danish companies in need of state financed risk capital. Most small business owners ignore sources sought notices — and that's exactly why they keep losing contracts to the same competitors. In this video, I'm walking you through the SAM.gov sources sought strategy that most contractors never use: ghosting and influencing the requirement before the RFP even drops. This is 100% legal, used by savvy federal contractors every day, and it's one of the most powerful government contracting tips you'll find anywhere. Here's what you'll learn: - How to filter SAM.gov to find sources sought notices in your industry - The first thing to check that could disqualify you — and how to handle it fast - How to use sources sought to build real relationships with contracting officers before the competition starts - What "ghosting" a requirement means and how to legally write your certifications and capabilities into the bid - Real examples: eVerify, CBRNE, green tech, HEPA — how to use unique qualifications to cut 100 competitors down to 20 If you're serious about winning federal contracts, learning how to work sources sought is non-negotiable. In this interview we catch up with serial innovator Andrew Sheehan, to learn more about his latest interesting venture SustainabilityExamples, see more about it here. Who are we talking to? Is it a logical journey to what you are working on now? My name is Andrew Sheehan, and my background spans accounting, marketing, and product. I originally trained and qualified as an accountant in 2013, but moved into marketing early in my career and have since spent nearly 20 years in marketing leadership roles across Ireland, the US, and the UK. More recently, I worked as a fractional CMO and product marketing consultant for scaling technology companies through my (now dormant) consultancy, ProductMarketing.ie. Through that work, I found myself increasingly drawn to purpose-driven and climate-focused businesses – seeing both the ambition they had and the challenges they faced in communicating and executing on that ambition. SustainabilityExamples with Andrew Sheehan The idea for SustainabilityExamples.com started back in 2021, when I kept coming back to the same question: why is it so hard for companies to see what good looks like in practice…and which solutions can actually help them get there? After several years of hands-on experience implementing a sustainability strategy with a previous employer, combined with working closely with GreenTech and other purpose-driven companies, that question turned into a clear opportunity. What are you working on now? I launched SustainabilityExamples.com in 2025 to help close that gap – making real-world climate action more visible, accessible, and easier to adopt and learn from. Since launching, we've already helped over 100 companies share their sustainability journey (progress, not perfection) while also showcasing the solutions enabling that progress. That's been incredibly rewarding and reinforces that this is a problem worth solving. As a qualified accountant in addition to 20 years of marketing experience, I recently went back to the classroom to study corporate sustainability before leaving my job and pivoting fully into the world of climate entrepreneurship to bring a rare blend of marketing strategy and storytelling to drive progress in this space through SustainabilityExamples.com. What is SustainabilityExamples.com? SustainabilityExamples.com is a corporate sustainability engagement platform – think of it as the "Product Hunt for Sustainability". The place to launch and discover examples of solutions and initiatives driving real progress, every day. At it's core, it's about making sustainability action visible, adoptable, and commercially rewarding. We're primarily speaking to founders and operators building GreenTech and CleanTech companies, as well as sustainability leaders driving the sustainability strategy inside mid-to-large organisations. They're all trying to answer the same questions: "What are other companies doing, who are they doing it with…and is it working?" The journey to building SustainabilityExamples.com came from seeing how fragmented and siloed that process is. Companies don't lack intent…they lack visibility into credible, verified and real-world examples they can trust and act on. We also recognise how terrifying it is for companies to openly talk about their progress out of fear of greenwashing and beyond. What would success look like if Oxfordshire got climate innovation truly right, not just in ideas, but in deployment at scale? In this Oxford+ bonus episode, Susannah de Jager speaks with Hannah Scott, CEO of Oxfordshire Greentech, about the practical barriers that stop climate tech startups moving from promise to global impact.Hannah unpacks why scaling hardware and deep tech takes longer, costs more, and often hits the Valley of Death between Series A and Series B, where funding needs can jump dramatically. She argues the UK needs more patient capital, including family offices, and reflects on whether pension reform will genuinely shift investment towards British IP and industrial capability. That question has new urgency, with the government saying the Mansion House Accord could unlock up to £50bn for UK businesses and major infrastructure. The conversation also looks forward: what Oxford might become by 2050, and how to weigh heritage, housing, equity, and innovation. Finally, Hannah frames AI as both opportunity and risk for net zero, and asks what it means to move forward more sensibly.Hannah Scott: Hannah Scott is the CEO of Oxfordshire Greentech, a not-for-profit business network building a world-leading climate tech innovation ecosystem in Oxfordshire with impact beyond. She leads the organisation in managing and engaging members, connecting them with funding, customers, and business expertise whilst facilitating scale-up innovation through events, programmes and projects. Hannah is also Co-Founder of the Climate Tech SuperCluster, which showcases, develops and scales climate-critical technologies across the UK and Europe. She sits on the Oxford Economic Growth Steering Board and was named to edie's 30 Under 30 Class of 2023. Having helped launch Oxfordshire Greentech in 2019 whilst working for sustainability consultancy Bioregional, Hannah has now stepped into full-time leadership of the network and continues to deliver successful events, commercial opportunities and projects with climate and social impact.Connect with Hannah Scott on LinkedIn or visit Oxfordshire GreentechSusannah de Jager: Susannah is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in UK asset management. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a neighborhood.Stories that matter to you — every daySince our launch seven years ago, we've published more than 30,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 150,000 Chicagoans. Today, we're taking a deep dive into green technology with Graham Bain, the Principal Analyst for Energy Transition Research at Enverus. Graham has a background as a geologist and now runs a team covering CCUS, geothermal, and direct lithium extraction technologies. One constant in investing is that technology is a profoundly deflationary force that creates many more opportunities than it destroys despite the luddites out there that may disagree. Graham walks us through the tech landscape here and the potential impacts these technologies can have on society. This pod turned out to be a great tutorial on these technologies as we haven't covered them in depth before. If you are a fan of green technologies and enjoyed this discussion, please share it far and wide and don't forget to like and subscribe to the podcast wherever you listen.

What if the most innovative ideas in event catering weren't happening in the boardroom — but below the house? This week on Eating at a Meeting Podcast LIVE, I'm talking with Executive Chef Rientz Mulder of RAI Amsterdam, a culinary pioneer proving that sustainability and large-scale events can thrive on the same plate. For more than 30 years, Rientz and his Basement Chefs have been feeding millions — literally — while championing regional sourcing, food circularity, and plant-based creativity. From transforming nearly-expired bananas into banana bread for the staff café, to launching a fully plant-based restaurant at GreenTech that wowed international guests, their kitchen has become a model for what responsible event dining looks like in action. We'll chat about:
While current conversations about global heating tend to center around a few well-established pieces of science, we don't often hear about the scientists and leaders working at the frontier of what is still unknown about Earth's systems. This includes unpredictable tipping points and cascading effects of our rapidly changing climate, as well as the unconventional adaptation strategies that might help us maintain a stable planet. What is the newest climate science being researched right now, and what areas are we still needing to explore as we fight for a livable future? In this episode, Nate is joined by climate philanthropist Kelly Erhart to discuss the urgent state of climate science and emerging response strategies beyond traditional mitigation and adaptation. Kelly explains the climate research that reveals increasingly alarming risks, including natural feedback loops such as glacier collapse, declining albedo (the reflectivity of Earth), and methane release from melting permafrost. They also discuss frontier emergency climate interventions such as oceanic carbon sequestration, atmospheric methane removal, and glacier stabilization strategies, among others – while emphasizing that none of these replace the need for the drastic reduction of emissions. What are the biggest climate questions that are currently being researched? How can an interdisciplinary approach help us better understand the climate mitigation and adaptation options available to us? And finally, how do we, especially the youngest among us, maintain hope and motivation to continue working towards better outcomes for humanity and the planet? (Conversation recorded on September 26th, 2025) About Kelly Erhart: Kelly Erhart is the Director of Partnerships at Outlier Projects (a climate philanthropy). Her work at Outlier Projects focuses on funding teams that are accelerating research on efforts to improve forecasting of catastrophic risks, and research on tools that could help stabilize climate systems at the necessary speed and scale. Previously, she was a repeat climate non-profit founder and entrepreneur; including co-founding Vesta, a pioneering ocean-based carbon dioxide removal approach. Erhart's multidisciplinary background spans climate technology development and commercialization, nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. Erhart was also named one of Forbes 30 under 30 for Energy and Green Tech in 2026. It's our 600th episode! I know what you're thinking, they don't sound jaded and tired, which could easily be the case, after so many episodes. That's because with every episode, the tone is set by you dear listeners, who continue to send in questions for us to discuss. We've only got nine questions lined up at present, so get 'em in now and you'll be answered quite quickly, maybe even in time for Christmas, wouldn't that be the best present you've ever received!?Alex Kauffmann is back in the listener's chair for his penultimate episode before he buggers off back to college. Has he been with us too long, or not long enough maybe? Only you can decide.Today's first question comes from Estefania, Jalisco, Mexico - “We're told the new green economy will save us, yet that's still utilising the same system that's destroying us. Green tech, if done well and for the right reasons is the right thing to do, but what we're not told is there's one thing we can all do, that has a positive impact on all areas of climate change, that much green tech doesn't. Eat less meat and dairy”William jumps straight in: he says that one of the biggest contributors to climate change is meat, specifically beef. So if you could eat less meat, and particularly beef, it would have a better impact, he thinks, than any new technology.Alex explains that while challenges are inevitable, Green Tech is not destined to replicate unsustainable systems. He envisions it developing into an ecosystem, that connects with society, much like nature does, an aspiration that takes time but follows the pattern of past innovations.Stuart recalls warning that investing in green inventions often meant funding big oil companies, which buy up patents, only to shelve them. He argues that these corporations suppress alternatives to maintain dependence on oil, later reintroducing the innovations as if they were entirely new.And the second question for today's charade comes from Vinroy, Linstead, Jamaica - It is a long question, and we only get 4,000 characters to play with, you can find Vinroy's bumper of a question right here: Vinroy's questionAlex notes that while some societies adapt to governmental and economic structures, extreme wealth concentration remains a persistent issue. He adds that cultural differences make universal solutions difficult to implement.William highlights the organization Led by Donkeys, which exposes how the very wealthy can easily obtain foreign citizenship to offshore money and avoid taxes. He emphasizes that some people will always prioritize their own financial interests above all else. There are ways that people can actually get around it by going to organizations like this where they can actually offshore their money. Stuart reflects that while the wealthy and the poor often operate on different value systems, true richness isn't financial. He suggests that instead of chasing flashy wealth, society could adopt a different set of values that doesn't revolve around material accumulation. What do you make of this discussion? But while the technology exists. From batteries and demand response to interconnectors the challenge lies in creating the right market structures and incentives to bring it all together.Today's power markets were designed around centralised fossil generation. For flexibility to scale, they must evolve, ensuring that short-term trading, ancillary services, and long-term contracts all work in harmony. Without that, renewable integration will stall, and the cost of balancing the grid will rise.In this episode of Transmission, Quentin is joined by Rasmus Rode Mosbæk to explore the future of energy trading and flexibility markets. They discuss how market design can enable faster renewable integration, why transparency and liquidity matter, and what lessons can be drawn from other European systems. Want the latest news, analysis, and price indices from power markets around the globe - delivered to your inbox, every week?Sign up for the Weekly Dispatch - Modo Energy's unmissable newsletter. As renewables take a larger share of the power mix, the need for flexibility in electricity markets has never been greater. Over the course of the conversation, they discuss:Why flexibility is the missing piece in renewable integration. How market design shapes investment and innovation in storage. The growing role of short-term trading in balancing the grid.Lessons from European power markets on flexibility and liquidity. What's needed to unlock the full potential of demand-side response.About our guestRasmus Rode Mosbæk is the CEO and Founder of Hybrid Greentech, a Danish software company specialising in intelligent energy storage solutions. With an MSc and PhD in energy systems, Rasmus combines deep technical expertise with commercial insight to deliver smarter ways of integrating renewables into the grid.
