Heavenly Kings Podcast Episode 16 Hey everyone, super duper sorry about the long wait (again.) In this episode we talk about chapters 368-377 and how things somehow got more wild than before. I think this manga is really just reaching beyond the stars to be absolutely bonkers. Instead of going chapter by chapter, we talk about the highlights of these chapters as a whole. We also try to speculate who could possibly be Toriko and Starjun's parents. There's a ton of action that happens in this collection of chapters, but there is some exposition to be picked from it here and there so this episode is not that long. Heavenly Kings Podcast Episode 15 Jeez, the longer I take to put out the new podcast episode, the more nonsensical the latest chapters of Toriko become. It's kind of ridiculous, but I shouldn't be surprised considering that I've told myself that I'm in this for the long haul. I love this series, although I'm not enjoying what has been going on since it came back from break for its time skip saga. In this episode we talk about chapters 346-367 where a lot of stuff happened. We had a flashback, we had a bunch of info about back channels and time going by slower in different places, and we learned a few things about Starjun's family tree. One of the biggest things we learned about was Neo and Acacia. Warning, we complain quite a bit! Sorry for the long long wait!! This episode is pretty short! We go over chapters 343-345 and complain about how confusing the transition was between the current time frame to the flashback revealing what went down in Blue Grill after the Kings and their companions went to their respective areas of the Gourmet World. Colton gets a little passionate and I jokingly claim that I'll go to Japan and fight Shueisha. (Please don't take that part seriously!!) The next episode will be up a lot quicker than this one. In this episode we discuss chapters 336-342 and it’s one of those episodes where we sound like we hate this series. I promise you, that I definitely don’t. I can’t speak for the other hosts though. Anyway, this bunch of chapters made barely any sense at the time of the recording. A few things we were pondering on were proven wrong in the chapters that followed. One thing that is still weird is Toriko being able to smell information. (I wrote up a theory though, I’ll share that in the next episode.) Heavenly Kings Podcast Episode 12Hello everybody! In this episode we talk about the madness going down in chapters 330-335 of the Toriko manga. We also talk a little about side characters and which ones we like. Colton isn't with us in this episode so I asked my friend @/cloudtrotter to join us. I like to think that we had a good conversation! Although the main group of characters have split up to take on Acacia's full course to save time, things were heating up in Blue Grill with this chef battle between Condor Window and Chef Yuda. But in the last chapter we cover in this episode, we got to see something really mind-blowing from the perspectives of the Four Kings' different pairings. Although things are kind of out of control, even for this series, at least it's interesting and enjoyable.(side note: my nephew may make a few "appearances" in this audio. A lot has happened in the last few chapters of Toriko! In this podcast we talk about chapters 321-324 and discuss all the cool new plot points that Shimabukuro decided to dump on us. I ended up writing four pages of notes/theories because of this and I talk about them a lot towards the end of the podcast. There's a lot of new info mainly about the Nitro but I think that bit about That Guy is the most interesting and it really changed how I viewed him. Also, it's only Colton and myself in this episode. In this episode we talk about chapters 317-320 and we kinda talk about our favorite villains and how villains aren't such a big thing in this series. We go on tangents a lot, we talk about pets and fish and pretty much everything under the sun but its because we're trying to make sense of things in this arc. At least it's over right? The bulk of it anyway. I know for a fact that I, myself, am problematique (TM) like 99.99% of everything in the world so even though I edited the episode, I'm still a little nervous about how we talked about the gender swapping. At the end we started talking about Steven Universe a bit, too, so we ended the episode quickly without saying goodbye properly. Hey everyone. It seems like episodes come out monthly rather than bi-weekly, and honestly, that's not all that bad. I do want to try and be much quicker about getting episodes out, so hopefully we'll transition into a bi-weekly thing soon. Anyway, this episode we talked about chapters 308-311 and had our usual conversations sprout from there. I'm pretty sure I sound like a jerk in this episode when I complained about Rin but it's okay I guess. As the title shows, we talked about Bambina's balls a lot (how can we ignore that?), Kaka and the possibility of her wanting to lick/eat Komatsu's brains or pretty much anyone's brains. It's kind of wild how spot on we are about how suspicious Kaka is... Especially when you consider how tired and goofy we are in this episode. (Though I'm sure we're kind of goofy all the time.) We also read off our first hate mail/comment from last month I believe. So there's that to enjoy as well, if you're interested lol.

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since we last recorded about the recent manga chapters so this episode covers chapters 300-307. A lot has happened in these chapters and I personally cannot say if I'm all that happy about it other than we're getting closer to Pair and getting the hell outta Area 7. We talk about the quick fight with the mountain monkey, Toriko's hallucinations, balls, fake science (not even sci fi at this point, it's just straight up nonsense), more balls, and Bambina playing games with people such as everyone's favorite: Dismember the Heavenly King.

In this episode we talk about chapters 296-299 where the kings make it to Area 7 and battle some seriously tough monkeys and apes. Of course, given the pacing of the series, they don't battle them for long and encounter something else mid-fight. After discussing the chapters we talk about which of the heavenly kings is our favorite and go from there. I tried to hold back a little bit when it was my turn. (I hope that shows lol) For the next episode I wanted to invite a friend on for the sake of going over volume one. I figured it was a good idea because I gave the volume to him for free and we've discussed doing this sort of thing a few months back anyway. Hopefully we can get a spoiler-free discussion going for a segment of the podcast and then the majority of it will be the usual chapters. I think for the episode following we can discuss our favorite villains. The holidays are coming up though so I'm not sure we'll be able to record in December (at least in the latter half of the month). We'll cross that bridge when we get there! And somehow we get on the subject of Toriko possibly being some kind of space alien. Anyway... Since Colton is away I invited my friend Krusty Kong (@KrustyKong on twitter) to co-host with us. For the next episode we can talk about the "good" guys that we like or whittle it down to which of the Heavenly Kings we like the best and why. We'll see though. Here we are! Another episode. Not nearly as long as Ep 0 but that is to be expected when I decided to try and regulate how much of the series we talk about at a time. In this episode we go over the recent chapters starting from when Toriko and company entered Hex Food World to the latest chapter to date (so that excludes the chapter that released this week if you're going by scanlations.) So, if you missed the last episode you don't know that we're not going to be filtering ourselves for the sake of spoilers. If you aren't caught up, I'm really sorry but at this time we're not spoiler free. Though by my logic, if you hear any of this and haven't gotten past the first three volumes of the series, you probably won't really understand 90% of these spoilers anyway. (But I understand that I sound kind of insensitive. I'm quickly realizing that I'm a jerk when it comes to this.) Well, besides "Air" and the events surrounding the Kings + Komatsu's adventure so far in the GW, we touch on the anime just a wee bit and a few other things. Again, this is a short episode! This is something that's been in "the making" for about three years now. Ever since I caught up to the Toriko manga and the anime started in April 2011, I thought to myself "This series needs a podcast." I had little faith in myself at the time so I figured that someone else would do it. Unfortunately, there really wasn't a push for one other than me fantasizing about starting my own and the one that tried to take off and then burned out before it could get anywhere. Here we are in 2014, going at it again and this time with a lot more organization. This episode was a test to see how the three of us (me: @nitrocherry_, @damedrfoxyb, and @sniperking323) would mesh during a call and I personally think it went fairly well. So, please take a listen and give any and all feedback. In the future, I'll do my best to make a proper outline of what we go over in the episode and also try to update twice a month (every other week.)
