The final course is served in our Delicious in Dungeon x Toriko combo series. After leaving the Golden Country, Laios and his friends are attacked by a griffin. This perilous encounter gives us some insight into Senshi's past and motivations. The party is slowed down again when changeling mushrooms mix things up, forcing them to think quickly and adapt. As the party descends deeper, outside forces join the fray and the dungeon's ecology becomes ever-more unstable. (But don't worry, there's still time for a quick bite.) Back in Toriko, the titular Gourmet Hunter and Coco face-off against a deadly Devil Python. Both are forced to push themselves to the limit to overcome this sinister serpent and find the coveted Puffer Whale. However, as their flavorful adventure continues, an even stronger foe is skulking around in the depths. In what's already being hailed as our best episode yet (by us), we dive into another combo platter of Delicious in Dungeon and Toriko. First, Laios and his friends arrive at the dungeon's Sixth Level. After dealing with some uncanny shapeshifters, the party gains a new member in the form of the beastman ninja Izutsumi. A supernatural detour then brings the party to the legendary Golden Country, a paradise within the dungeon that remains frozen in time. There, a surprising revelation leads Laios to question his destiny. Back on the surface, Kabru discusses similarly existential matters with the Canaries, a group of elven dungeon specialists known for leaving destruction in their wake. Next, in Toriko, our heroes have to get past a troop of dangerous Troll Kongs to reach the extra-flavorful fruit they guard. Finally, Toriko and Komatsu team up with another member of the Four Heavenly Kings to find the rare Puffer Whale. A tense meeting with the warrior Shuro forces the party to reevaluate their ultimate goal. Falin has been transformed into a terrifying monster by the Mad Mage, and Laios cannot risk the Island Lord going after her. Defeating the Mad Mage himself may be the only option that remains, but are our heroes really the best party for the job? Mitarashi Dango Description: Rice flour dumplings that are skewered onto sticks in groups of 3–5 and covered with a sweet soy sauce glaze. Preparation: Form glutinous rice flour and water into balls, then drop them into boiling water until they float. Dress/cover with desired toppings. Anime Reference: Toriko: In this anime, Toriko, a Gourmet Hunter, searches for rare and diverse foods to complete a full-course meal. The Mitarashi Dango Planet (みたらし団子星 Mitarashi Dango Boshi) is a collection of edible skewered planets resembling mitarashi dango, seen as they leave Earth. Demon Slayer: ⁠Mitarashi Dango in Demon Slayer⁠. History: Originally, dumplings were used as offerings for gods in shrines. During the 13th - 14th century, the Japanese emperor visualized dango while purifying himself and used this image to create offerings for the gods. Earliest written record dates back to the Heian period (794-1185). Cultural Significance: Hanami: During the sakura (cherry blossom) season, people enjoy picnics under the trees, often serving dango. Japanese Style Curry Description: Curry served over rice, udon noodles, or as curry bread. Ingredients: Basic vegetables: onions, carrots, and potatoes. Popular meats: beef, pork, and chicken. Preparation: Curry sauce is made by frying curry powder, flour, and oil to make roux, then adding it to stewed meat and vegetables, simmering until thickened. Recipe: Japanese Curry Recipe. History: Introduced to Japan by the British from India during the Meiji Restoration (1868–1889). Became popular in Japanese households in the early 20th century. The crew meets up with Brook, who cannot remember anything other than his own name, and tries to stop Thriller LTD from interfering. We've had first One Piece , what about second One Piece? We conclude our double header with the G-8 Filler arc. One of the best filler arcs in all of the anime and could easily be mistaken for canon. This filler arc takes place directly after the Straw Hats exit the Sky Island  but before Water 7.    When the Straw Hats  land in the middle of the marine base G-8, they are forced to abandon their ship, as many marines immediately spring upon it. Separated, the crewmates are forced to disguise themselves and try to find a way out of the base, which is comprised of a huge mountain surrounded by water, and then a ring of sheer rock cliffs that form a wall of sorts.   The film came out in 2009 with a run time just shy of 2 hours. One Piece is back... well its never left but back for us! This week we watched One Piece Strong World a movie that came out in 2009 . This is first week of a One Piece double header header. Stay tuned next week when we finally get to the infamous G-8 filler arc!   Upon hearing news that islands in East Blue are being destroyed, Monkey D. Luffy and his crew go to investigate. This week's we watched 79 & 80 of Fist of the North Star!  In the year 19XX, after being betrayed and left for dead, bravehearted warrior Kenshirou wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland on a quest to track down his rival, Shin, who has kidnapped his beloved fiancée Yuria. During his journey, Kenshirou makes use of his deadly fighting form, Hokuto Shinken, to defend the helpless from bloodthirsty ravagers. It isn't long before his exploits begin to attract the attention of greater enemies, like warlords and rival martial artists, and Keshirou finds himself involved with more than he originally bargained for. This anime ran from 1984 to 1987 for a total of 109 episodes. We're back again with some more Toriko filler! This week we watched "Run, Strongest Team! Toriko, Luffy, and Goku!"  a two-part special which is episode 99 of Toriko and 590 of One Piece. It is probably one of the biggest shounen crossovers in anime to date. He liked it quite a bit, and he jokes that his favorite character is Oncat, a cat from the third book named "cat" in a fictional language of the universe Joel watched Hulu's M.O.D.O.K.- He felt it had a slow start, but enjoyed it as he kept watching. He especially liked episode 6 "Tales from the Great Bar Mitzvah War!" Dorohedero – Another show Kat mostly watched on her own. It's got a lot of wacky hijinks and, best of all, a caiman man! Beastars Season 2- Kat really enjoyed this series, and felt it better fleshed out the world from the first season. Though Joel didn't watch every episode, he felt the show added much more gay subtext between two of the primary characters. Main Discussion We talk about the aftermath of the marine ford war, including the cat man on Hawkins' ship, Moria's apparent death at the hands of Doflamingo, and the reveal of the final Yonko's name! Plus, you may be surprised to find out which supernova has caught Kat's eye! After that, we get a flash back to Luffy's childhood, in which baby Ace is a big ball of anger, and we meet... Luffy's secret second brother?? But where the heck could he be in present canon, if he, Ace, and Luffy were so close?   We do also talk about the Toriko crossover and whether we're excited to start that series in our free time. From One Piece to Demon Slayer to Food Wars. This episode is packed with some may interesting discussions we don't know where to start.  Well, we MUST talk about One Piece Chapter 957.  Finally, the Bounties have been revealed for Shanks and the other Yonko and we share our One Piece 957 Reaction as well as what we think is going to happen next after this monumental reveal.  All I know is that Shank's crew was revealed as one of the most balanced ones which means he probably has a decent set of strong crewmates.Outside of the One Piece 957 chapter Gramps has watched 2 seasons of Shokugeki No Soma aka Food Wars() and somebody sent him off trying to compare it to Toriko. So we had to do a little course correction. Player 5 has just entered the Elf arc of Black Clover in the Anime.He takes some time to share his thoughts and explain to the manga readers what the hell was going on in that Black Clover Elf arc.  We're also talking about some popular topics from our social media this month. Captain America vs All Might who's the better hero? The room is split on which one of these two (Captain America or All Might) would make the better hero.  And Trash or Lit Nezuko.
