On this week's Political Breakfast, Republicans are mostly a united front and in support of President Donald Trump's so-called 'big, beautiful' massive tax and spending bill. Georgia Democrats say there's nothing beautiful about it, claming the bill will strip away people's healthcare and increase poverty while creating tax breaks for the rich. Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson and Republican strategist Brian Robinson and host Lisa Rayam react to the latest as lawmakers debate the bill in the U.S. House. Trump says he wants to sign the bill by the July 4th holiday. It's sweeping tax cuts are estimated to add trillions more to the national debt. It also boosts spending on border security and defense, makes massive cuts to programs like Medicaid and shifts more responsibility for food assistance to the states. It would also slash clean energy tax credits created by the Inflation Reduction Act, that helped propel solar and electric vehicle manufacturing in Georgia.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The US Senate debates and votes on Donald John's "Big Beautiful Bill", which the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now confirms will cut more than $1 trillion from Medicaid, and despite the Trump Regime's premature celebration of "obliteration", the U.N. nuclear chief says Iran's nuclear program was damaged but not destroyed after U.S. strikes.
When Iron Maiden announced they'd be doing the Run For Your Lives Tour in 2025-26, The Wolf & Action Jackson knew they would have to go see a couple of shows. And when there were only European dates announced for 2025, they knew they needed to dust off their passports because there was no way they would be able to wait 2 years to see the boys on what could be their biggest and best (perhaps last?) greatest hits tour ever. So they chose Stockholm as their European venue because 1) They'd never been to Sweden and 2) Iron Maiden played 2 nights there. Plus the Wolf Cub had been promised by her father that he'd take her to see Maiden in Europe once she was old enough (but was she? Swedish authorities didn't think so but we came up with a work-around). Stockholm was an enchanting land full of beautiful people and a packed house full of Iron Maiden fans for 2 nights of heavy metal classics. We were revved up by Lzzy Hale and Halestorm who held their own on the stage and then treated to the best setlist The Wolf has seen in 30 years of seeing the band live. As The Wolf marked his 9th and 10th IM shows, they were the first without Nicko McBrain on the drums as the band introduced Simon Dawson to the family (though most knew him from Steve Harris' side project British Lion). Besides the Eddies who came out to have fun with the band, the real show was the new video screen behind the stage and on the amplifiers. It set the backdrop for the song like showing the Eiffel Tower during Murders in the Rue Morgue or a creepy graveyard for Fear of the Dark. But they also created some more interactive movies for epics like Rhime of the Ancient Mariner and Hallowed Be Thy Name. While the boys played lights out, the screen enhanced the experience and understanding of the lyrics for folks from the front row to the back of the house. Two truly magic nights in Stockholm which only left us wondering when (and where) would we see our heavy metal heroes again. On Friday's show: Thousands are expected to gather in downtown Saturday for the annual Houston Pride parade and festival. However, representatives of Pride Houston 365, the nonprofit organization that has held the event for nearly 50 years, says they've lost about 20 sponsors this year accounting for more than $180,000 in funding because diversity, equity, and inclusion policies have been banned at both the state and federal level, and the LGBTQ+ community has come under attack by political conservatives. Also this hour: Recent standardized testing shows efforts to emphasize STEM-related learning is paying off, but is it at the expense of other subjects for which those same students seem to lag?

Governor Polis wants to build a bridge — a long winding walkway that will stretch from the steps of the State Capitol, over four lanes of traffic on Lincoln Street, and all the way to Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park. And he wants it built before Colorado's 150th birthday next summer. But how much will it cost? Who will pay for it? Will it match the classic architecture and City Beautiful Movement-era park design? And does anyone else besides the governor want this walkway in the first place? 9News' Kyle Clark tried to answer these questions and he joins host Bree Davies to share what he found — and how he feels about the governor's plans for a legacy project. For even more news from around the city, subscribe to our morning newsletter Hey Denver at denver.citycast.fm.Follow us on Instagram: @citycastdenverChat with other listeners on reddit: r/CityCastDenverSupport City Cast Denver by becoming a member: membership.citycast.fmWhat do you think? This week we're cracking open Congo (1995), the jungle romp where killer gorillas guard diamonds and a gorilla named Amy talks with a Nintendo Power Glove. Laura Linney's armed, Dylan Walsh brought juice boxes for a primate, and Ernie Hudson is the only one who knows what movie he's in. It's corporate espionage meets theme park ride—and we're digging through the chaos to see why this '90s relic is still echoing through our brains like “Ugly gorilla! During his first term President Donald Trump adopted a vacillating stance toward Iran—initially issuing threats and then suggesting diplomatic negotiations. In this video guest host Misty Winston and Jimmy talk to antiwar.com's Scott Horton about the White House's decision to keep “all options on the table,” calling it irresponsible brinkmanship tantamount to terrorism against a non-threatening nation. The hosts underscore that preemptive war violates international norms and point out that even past U.S. presidents with far greater threats refrained from such actions. Plus segments on Donald Trump belittling Iran's weak missile attack on a U.S. airbase in Qatar and Trump using the same warmongering rhetoric as his predecessor George W. Bush. WWE Night of Champions 2025 has arrived shrouded in controversy as John Cena vs. CM Punk headlines a Saudi Arabia show amid a Middle East conflict. Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini take a deep dive with Getting Over's signature WWE Night of Champions ultimate preview [1:57:35] breaking down all six matches. Are Cody Rhodes (vs. Randy Orton in King of the Ring) and Jade Cargill (vs. Asuka in Queen of the Ring) obvious winners ahead of WWE SummerSlam? Will the Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez street fight live up to expectations? Why are only two titles being defended? "The Silver King" and "Vintage" open with WWE news [6:20] before covering The Main Event [26:00] where Cena's troll pipe bomb of Punk stood as a signature moment. The guys then tackle The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [56:20], including early thoughts on Seth Rollins' faction, the four semifinal matches, Becky Lynch vs. Bayley ending in a disqualification, plans for Judgment Day after Liv Morgan's injury and much more. The Omni sonar game-changer that levels the playing field or an edge that's reshaping the sport too much?
