Two nextdoor neighbors who once had a father/son relationship quickly become enemies over something as mundane as a property fence. As the tension boils, they continuously take jabs at each other. 26-year-old Jim Nibbe was asleep in his bed in the early morning hours of August 31, 2010. His wife, Jennifer, was in the bathroom when she heard a loud bang. She opened the door and was met by a gunman. He pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger but, the gun didn't go off. The man then attacked her as he drug her to the living room before he fled out the door. Jennifer then ran to check on her husband, Jim. But, he was dead...from a gunshot wound to the head. Jennifer called 911 and when police arrived, she told them everything she knew....or did she? Investigators quickly knew Jennifer wasn't telling the full truth. What really happened to Jim? And who attached her?
Mary Vincent was just 15 years old when she ran away from home and hitchhiked from Nevada to California. Mary is standing alongside the road with two other hitchhikers when a man pulls up in a blue van. The 2 hitchhikers ask him for a ride but he says he only has room for one and could give Mary a ride. Domestic violence is something that happens all too often. And unfortunately in this case a young mother, who is stuck in a love triangle, falls victim to it over and over again. In January 2015, Jessica Goebel ends up being attacked in her home and is stabbed over 20 times. But, she's STILL ALIVE! The killer leaves after the attack and a call is placed to 911. The police get to Jessica's house and find her leaned up against the wall on the kitchen floor, clinging to life. Her 2 1/2-year-old daughter and 9-month old daughter are in the house with her and they're covered in their mother's blood. Jessica is gasping for breath. Police try to save her and immediately bring her to the hospital. At the hospital, there is an investigation going on in the hospital room right next to her. Could her killer be in the room literally right next door? Jessica is placed on life-support and her family ends up having to make an unthinkable decision...
On September 1, 2016, a 13-year-old boy returns home from school. He hears his dogs barking in the basement so he goes to see what they're barking at. They're scratching and barking at a closed door. When he opens it, he finds his 52-year-old stepmother Rhonda Oakley....murdered. Detectives immediately search the house and find that a knife is missing from a set in the kitchen. When Rhonda's husband gets home he can't believe what he's seeing...his son crying, there are police everywhere...and they tell him that his wife has been murdered. While talking to police, he points out that it's not just a kitchen knife that's missing. Two other things are missing as well: Rhonda's car, and his daughter. Could the killer have stolen Rhonda's car and kidnapped her step-daughter? They need to get to her before it's too late.
