Episode 53 gave me the opportunity to have conversations with two agents that I just generally enjoy hanging out with and they also happen to be a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to the real estate scene in Memphis. Our featured partners this week are Memphis Title Company and Big League Movers. Keith Gilliam is a broker/owner with Weichert Realtors – Benchmark. He's a native Memphian that found his way to real estate after 20 years in the newspaper business. In his 25 years as a realtor, he has helped a truckload of families buy and sell property as well as serving on the MAAR Board of Directors, all kinds of local and statewide committees, and acted as the managing broker to a pretty successful office. Dana Duke Whitworth is an affiliate broker with the Crye-Leike Germantown office and she's one of the more beloved people I've had the pleasure of meeting by everyone I asked about her in the industry. This second-generation agent, didn't find her way to real estate immediately though, but the time it took her to get here has made her success in the industry that much sweeter. Our first featured partner this week is Memphis Title Company. If you would like to discuss anything pertaining to the closing process in general or about using them to handle your next closings, feel free to email any of the four talented attorneys.Mark Miesse – firstname.lastname@example.org Mike Christoff – email@example.com Lauren Meriwether – firstname.lastname@example.org Nick Gilder – email@example.com Big League Movers is a home run choice when selecting the right moving company to use for your next transition. Their professional moving teams are committed to providing a best-in-class full-service moving experience for all of their clients. Whether it's cross country or across the street, Big League Movers is sure to impress with their award-winning heavy hitters. Connor & Jon delve into madness as they discuss the long and troubled history of Terry Gilliam's passion project: The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. They discuss whether the story behind the making of the film is more interesting than the film itself. How the performances of the final cast are different than some of the previous outcomes. And why Gilliam seems to be cursed with excruciating productions.WARNING: Major spoilers for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and BrazilFilms mentioned in this episode:--------------------------------The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018) | Dir. Hey Sistren, This week, I'm in conversation Tifani Gilliam, Founder of Women Surviving SHTF™. As the saying goes - If you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready - and I'm a firm believer that women, especially Black women, must be prepared for emergencies. Our communities are not prioritized the way that we deserve and so if something happens (heaven forbid) like another flood, massive earthquake, or civil unrest, being able to safely stay indoors or quickly leave our homes with what we need to survive and take care of ourselves is not an option. I need you to do three things: Have a pen and notepad ready to take notes Commit to spending 30 minutes after the episode reflecting on three ways you can begin your prep work journey today Share this episode with a friend that needs to hear it Join Tifani's community and learn more about prepping right here: Black Preppers : Women Surviving SHTF™ - Melanin Ready Prep™

In today's episode, Rusty and Robyn talk with Jake Gilliam, Head of Multi-Asset Solutions with Charles Schwab. Jake is a 20-year veteran at Charles Schwab, who has taken on a lot of different positions in his tenure, eventually landing in the multi-asset solutions group. The investment bug bit him early on as an intern with Schwab, and he never looked back. Jake talks with Rusty and Robyn about fundamental weighting, what it means to be strategic and tactical, and how human-to-financial capital shifts over time and what that means for risk tolerance. “If you do the right thing for clients with a multi-asset class portfolio or any other service that truly helps them, you can help a lot of people that you'll never meet eye-to-eye, and that's something really powerful about our industry.” ~ Jake Gilliam Main takeaways Being strategic means that you're making an investment decision for the long-term and recognizing what the market conditions might be during that time rather than trying to time the markets. Advisors or those in financial services should always be focused on helping investors get a plan, stick to that plan, and have a good outcome. We want them to be in a place where clients won't overreact or sell off their assets at the worst times. If you look at how the ratio of human and financial capital changes over time with a client, it can help you understand where they might be able to tolerate more or less risk along the way. This week's episode has me sitting down with two consummate professionals in the real estate industry who both may have had their draw to the real estate industry set before they even knew what they wanted to do with their lives. Our featured partners this week at Choice Home Warranty and Community Mortgage. Rachel Baggett Gilliam with Crye-Leike Bartlett is one of my dearest friends in the entire business. She has served as a past president of the Memphis Young Professionals Network, any number of committees and boards within MAAR, and currently she sits as the President of the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Club…..oh and she's a pretty awesome Realtor too as she is consistently one of the highest performing agents at her high producing office. Brad Sterling is a Senior Account Executive with Choice Home Warranty. He grew up with his father running one of the largest real estate brokerages in the region and was fully immersed into the industry from the time he was in diapers. After running a home inspection business for nearly 2 decades, he made the leap to home warranties almost 7 years ago and has not looked back. Brad and the team at Choice pride themselves on being able to deliver for their warranty clients and their Realtor partners in ways unmatched in the mid-south. Our first featured partner this week is Choice Home Warranty. Christy Stokes and Brad Sterling have been serving the home warranty needs of the mid-south for years. While this crazy seller's market that we are in now may not make including a warranty the easiest of asks, your buyers are still eligible for the preferred real estate product directly through your local choice rep and they're even able to make payments on it monthly. To get your clients signed up for a warranty with the industry leader in this space, you can call Christy Stokes directly at 901-616-2285 or email her at email@example.com . Our second featured partner is Community Mortgage. Help your clients get a $100 Visa gift card by getting an Apples to Apples loan estimate from one of the mortgage pros at Community. To help your buyers have that extra spending money after closing, have them email ApplesToApples@CommunityMTG.com or call their office at 901-759-4400 and request an Apples to Apples comparison of their loan estimate from another lender. To connect with Rachel you can either catch her on Facebook messenger or call her cell at 901-277-8041. To connect with Brad you can call his cell directly at 901-870-2334 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org . If you need to connect with the show or reach Dane for any of your home insurance needs, you can email him at email@example.com .

Thanks to epicmouthful for commissioning the podcast for Terry Gilliam's "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". It's absurd and hilarious, it's got something to say, but above all else, it's imaginative.
