Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
I wrote a chapter in a book that I co-auth with some amazing people and they asked me to write about Self-discipline. In this episode I want to highlight three things that I mentioned in the chapter. Enjoy!
We all are on a mission to strive forward every day. We want to live a healthier lifestyle, build stronger relationships, develop deeper faith and create a legacy through our work or career. But there is something holding us all back, and in this episode I'm going to teach you the one thing you need to do to strive forward.
What is the root meaning of the word worship? The word is derived from the Old English weorþscipe, meaning to venerate "worship, honour shown to an object, which has been etymologised as "worthiness or worth-ship"—to give, at its simplest, worth to something.
“Time management” is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter – not harder – so that you get more done in less time, even when time is tight and pressures are high. Failing to manage your time damages your effectiveness and causes stress.
I'm sharing with you my reasons why I love self-discipline and my thoughts where it rank on the scale of values. I'm not boasting that I am the best at it, but share a story from my childhood that I think ingrained it into my life and mind.
I'm sharing a bad experience I had with a company. I am ranting on a bit but hopefully, I share something with you that you can use in your relationships, work, business, or career to protect your brand and reputation! Share with us how you are doing this.
I had an eye operation about a week ago and it made me realise something. Listen to what I learned on the operating table and the week of recovery!

So early in this new year, we can see fear all around us - I often struggle with how easy I fear and how much harder faith comes. Luckily we have a Dad that loves us and understand us, as long as we keep our eye on Him we can overcome anything.
Someone said to me the other day - "It seems like mentoring comes easy for you." I think what they saw is me speaking easily on the subject, but that does not mean that it comes easily or naturally to me. I share in this episode two reasons why it is difficult for me and why that is the reasons I love it.
We live in crazy times. Fear is all around us. What is it that we can do to overcome fear?
In this episode Morné shares his thoughts on courage - but more importantly, a different side to courage... Find out what it is!
This is a throwback to our third episode in the Values Friday Facebook LIVE series. We discussed self-discipline. We dive deep into why it is so difficult to do, why so many people struggle with and then some practical tips how you can strive to become more disciplined in your actions.
One of the many things that we struggle with is being perfect. We want to be perfect because that is what the world tells me I need to be to make any impact or achieve any level of success. But because we can't get perfection, we think that we are a failure. Therefore we procrastinate and never make that positive impact. I want to tell you that you are amazing, you do not need to be perfect but you need to implement and practise perfect behaviour. What is that? I share my thoughts with you in this podcast.
So many people want to get to the top of Table Mountain. Most people is only willing to take the cable car to get there. Often, by taking the longer more challenging path by hiking up, you get to experience so much more (tough but so amazing and rewarding). Life is the same way... Enjoy the hike!
I worked through this devotion series that spoke about the tension between working hard and trusting God for the results. I want to share what I took from it because maybe you are struggling with this as well. On the one hand, God wants us to work hard and on the other hand trust Him fully for results. As a Christian, I need to accept this tension between hard work and trusting God for the results to find rest. Joshua 6 is a great case study that explains this acceptance of the tension. Maybe you know the story. God promises to give Jericho to Joshua, but instead of giving Joshua superhuman powers, God asked Joshua to work. They (the Israelites) had to march around Jericho once each day for six days and on the seventh day 7 times, screaming and blowing on the trumpets on the 7th lap. In doing Joshua and the Israelites had to trust God for the victory. I learned that I should not try and solve this tension between working hard and trusting God for the results, I need to accept it. These ideas are not in conflict with each other, they are meant to work together. This realization has giving me the renewed assurance that God is in control, He is asking me to work hard where He placed me and I need to trust Him for the results. As a creator and entrepreneur, if you have struggled with this tension, I want to encourage you to work hard at your craft, get the skills you need, and trust God for the results.
We have a tradition in our house when the weather is cold and miserable. We make pancakes. I get my two daughters Olivia (6) and Emily (5) to help me prepare the dough. We have a secret family recipe. They sift the flour, add the water and eggs and I add the rest. After we mix it and the dough has rested I bake the pancakes. Here is the twist, and that is what I want to discuss on today's episode and hopefully it will help you as well.
This episode might offend some people. It is not my intention, but if it does, maybe it is exactly the episode that you needed to listen to, to start thinking about the legacy and example that are passed down to your children and you received from your parents. I would love to get your feedback on this one. Enjoy

We all have 24 hours in a day... Why is it that some people find more time to do certain things...
What does the Bible say about Restoration? Restoration in the Bible is synonymous with healing, repairing, returning to a previous state of being. Psalm 51:12 says "Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit." Although we may stray from steadfast faith and obedience, there are numerous Bible verses about restoration we can look to for inspiration for renewal in our lives. Restoration is a recurring theme in scripture as those who strayed from the teachings and love of God sought to restore their divine relationship with Him. Further occurrences of repairing what had decayed included personal relationships, fortunes, and health.
We hear that we need to break down our BIG goals into smaller pieces and focus on that smaller piece. I fully agree with that but in this episode, I want to share with you the missing link why people are not achieving their goals. I learned this from an interview that had with Jerry Seinfeld, where he shared his secret to success.
Following your passion and listening with your heart - giving 150% and not expecting anything in return.
Forgiveness can lead to: Healthier relationships. Improved mental health. Less anxiety, stress and hostility. Forgiveness removes pain and grudge from your heart. You become happier and this is what the Lord desires for you. When your heart is pure, the Lord can find a place in it and fill it with love. When your life is free from grudge, the Lord can start sending you miracles.
We have all be glued to our televisions, social media, and mainstream media and have been following the recent elections in America. And it seems like it is not over yet. Looking at the mess, I want to share my thoughts with you regarding leadership and specifically the position from where you are leading. You might be thinking that you do not lead anyone, but I assure you, you do. Listen to this episode and share your thoughts on it in the comments. #StriveToBecome
We often forget to see the world through the eyes of a child. Maybe we forgot how to dream... Maybe we forgot how to smile. Spend time with a child and you will learn how blessed we are!
Is Vulnerable a good thing? It's important to be vulnerable because doing so allows us to share those things which have hurt us, and feel compassion in the act of sharing. And the same vulnerability allows us to experience great new avenues of thought
So last week I was away on a short break with my family to Ballito. We love it there and most days we spend on the beach and play in the ocean. This time was extra special as my daughters could enjoy the ocean with me. As Olivia and I were playing and jumping over the waves, this thought entered my head and I want to share it with you. The whole picture of the waves coming in, me holding Olivia's hand, and helping jump over the waves is a great picture of what life is for all of us as well. Enjoy!
We often take on things and we have certain expectations or goals... We often miss and don't see the small victories. Its time to let go and let God...
In simple terms, obedience is compliance with an order, request, law or submission to another's authority. ... “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross” hence why the bible stresses it an essential part of the Christian faith
When you look back at anything meaningful that you accomplished, what do you remember? Do you remember the result of the accomplishment? Maybe for a short while. But I bet you remember the journey? The ups, the downs, the early mornings and late nights? The people who doubted you and those who encouraged you? The discoveries along the way and the lessons that you learned. Those are the things that we remember. You are currently on a journey! Whether that is to build a business, strengthen your relationships, improve your health, making a positive difference. The journey that you are on is more exciting than the destination itself. At Mentor On Demand, we take our boys on this same journey to discover, unlock, and ignite a set of values. We don't just give them the values and tell them to live by it. No, we take them on a journey to understand the fundamentals that make up that value. Because, as soon as they understand the fundamentals, they can boldly live from that set of values. Through this journey, they strive to become…
To give anything less than you best is a sacrifice of a gift...
Our masculine hearts are so precious, yet so many of us do not even know it - we have allowed it to be stolen from us and it is time that we figure out a way to get it back!
You have two choices when you do anything. You can have a winning mindset or a dabbler mindset. I hate working with dabblers and try to avoid it at all cost. In this episode I tell a story that illustrates the difference between the two mindsets. I love working with people that have a winning mindset. I also bust a myth and misconception that people have about having a positive mindset. Winners read our "Mentor Me" newsletter and you can get a FREE copy at http://mentorme.mentorondemand.co.za/

Imperfect Parenting - the perfect parent. Do you often feel that you are failing as a parent - well, join the club? There is only one perfect parent and that is God, so let us look at some of the examples that he gives us.
So, I just came back from a weekend where we strategize about the company for the 2021 year. We discussed, what we want to achieve, what went wrong in 2020, and how we can improve on that as well as what went well in 2020 and how we can double down on that. It made me realize that we spend so much time planning and strategizing in our work or company, but do we spend enough time to plan and strategize our life. Do you have a plan to do the most important things in your life first, before you start looking at the lesser important things and then the not so important things and only then at the, not at all important things? I think we get it wrong sometimes. That we have this turned upside down, that we spend to much time on the "not at all important" things and then there is not enough space available to do the "Important" things. I try and unpack this with you in this episode.
A crucial conversation is a discussion between two or more people where stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. When we face crucial conversations, we can do one of three things: We can avoid them, we can face them and handle them poorly, or we can face them and handle them well.
Jim Rohn, the famous American Entrepreneur, Author, and Speaker said - "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with!" The problem is that most people focus today on the negative aspects of their life. Things like negative influence, excuses, and their own obstacles. They see the glass half empty so to say. The one way to overcome this is to start surrounding yourself with positive, confident, and successful people. At Mentor on Demand, we developed a framework for how you can become a Positive, Confident, and Caring man. One of the steps is to surround yourself with other valuatics. In this podcast, I explain the 5 unknown benefits of surrounding yourself with valuatics.

A company writes a vision and a mission statement. It declares who that company is, who they want to serve and the direction they want to take. Personally, you can take this example and write your own power statement that can declare who you are and who you strive to become.
