Connors arrives back in Chiang Mai after a month spent in Bali, Indonesia. Tom updates Con on the first two rugby training sessions and the duo discuss transport and the infrastructure of Chiang Mai. hello and welcome ba ck to another episode of that raging Buffalo podcast. My name is Connor, my name's Tom. And what are we talking about today? Tom, what is the topic of conversation for episode six in the series? The First topic we're gonna talk about is to welcome you back Connor, Welcome back to Chiang mai. Thank you very much. Thank you. It's good to be back. I must be good to come back from the, from the sunny beaches of Bali to the rainy clouds of Chiang Mai, but hasn't yet cleared all the smog away that we've been having. Nice, beautiful. Absolutely fantastic. It's nice to be able to see the mountain, the distance once again, but completely. I'll tell you one more thing as well when it comes to the rugby as well, that we're going to be playing between June and October. This is perfect. We're gonna have loads of sliding tries, lots of muddy faces be perfect for rugby. I've been meaning to ask you, you've had the first two training sessions. How did they go? How's the, how the training sessions going? First one was a bit poor with turnouts. Get More people down and where is it? Sorry, it's in Lamphun. Oh, I see. Near Lamphun technical college, but last weekend we had eight people. It was beautiful, and we've been putting out news articles, we have been getting people involved. There's a lot of people that are starting to come down and get to know what we're about and where we are. Oh that's great. That's fantastic to hear man - And I'm really happy for you. And one of the best things about where the rugby is in lampoon is due to the development of doing all the transport. Okay. So, between Chiang Mai and Lamphun - i don't know if anyone knows, I'm sure you show you do. If you, if you go down that way, they're developing a huge section of road. They're turning it into a proper motorway, they're making it three or four lanes. Not show yet at the moment it's just concrete, no paint. They're putting in loads of Overpasses as well. So you won't have to deal with dodging traffic if you want to go straight to Lamphun or straight to if you're going to Bangkok, if you're driving down, you have to do with all of the junctions, all the intersections. You just go straight over on the overpasses straight through onto Lamphun and through onto what's the other place called, is it Phayao? I'm not sure I've been living in three years, this is poor. Well it sounds like they're definitely making Chiang Mai a lot more accessible. It is indeed. So the topic today, if you haven't guessed already, he's transport isn't that right connor? That is Right. we've got, we've got various things want to talk to you about in this episode. We've already mentioned the, the intersection. What was the intersection called? We didn't mention the intersection at all? The one that goes straight into Lamphun? Not an Intersection. No, no. It's the whole road from Chiang Mai all the way through to Lamphun. So, starting where Promenada is - they're developing the whole strip. It's about a good half an hours worth of driving. It's a hundred kilometers an hour and it's all been developed. Oh, I'm with you now. At the moment it's Just half an hour, But when it's all finished it'll be, it'll be about 20 minutes perfect for the rugby. They're building it obviously for Lana Ruby Club, not for anything else! (joke) are you sure You haven't had anything to do with this. Oh, I'm sure. I promise cross my heart and hope to
