It's the night after the 1998 Royal Rumble and "Iron" Mike Tyson is on Raw. Vince McMahon has an important announcement to make regarding Tyson and WrestleMania, but Steve Austin has other plans for the "Baddest Man on the Planet"
Along with the annual 30-man Royal Rumble match, Shawn Michaels defends his WWF Championship against The Undertaker. Also, The Rock defends the IC belt against Ken Shamrock, and Vader takes on The Artist Formely Known as Goldust.
On WCW Nitro this week we learn what the current situation is regarding the WCW World Heavyweight Title. Macho Man Randy Savage seeks out Kevin Nash as the nWo begin to implode, and Booker T defends his TV title against Perry Saturn. On Raw Steve Austin continues to "do unto others" before heading into the Royal Rumble later in the week. The Rock surprises Faarooq when he recruits a new member to The Nation, and Shawn Michaels also announces a possible new member for the D-Generation X faction.
The first Monday Night battle of 1998! On WCW Nitro Eric Bischoff claims that Hulk Hogan won the World Championship last week and it was caught on tape. JJ Dillon says the tape will get released in time for the debut episode of WCW Thunder. Lex Luger vs Macho Man Randy Savage takes place in the main event. On Raw Steve Austin decides he's going to "do unto others" and begin launching attacks on Superstars in the Royal Rumble match. Owen Hart wrestles Savio Vega, Ken Shamrock vs Faarooq takes place, and the New Age Outlaws are also in action.
The WWF present a holiday episode of Raw. Sgt Slaughter forces Shawn Michaels to defend his European Championship against Triple H, Steve Austin meets Santa, and The Rock wrestles The Undertaker. On TNT the Nitro show gets completely taken over by the nWo as Eric Bischoff gives us a preview of what Monday nights could look like if he beats Larry Zbyszko at Starrcade.
Vince McMahon formely introduces The Attitude Era by saying Raw is the "cure for the common show". D-Generation X main event Raw in a tag match against L.O.D, and Steve Austin takes The Rock's Intercontinental Championship belt on a road trip. On WCW Nitro it's announced that Bret Hart is in the building and he will make an appearance on the show. Scott Hall takes on Chris Jericho, Booker T wrestles Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan is (once again) trying to find Sting.
After what happened at D-Generation X In Your House, Shawn Michaels wants Owen Hart in the ring. DX won't leave until Owen shows up, so they decide to play a game of poker while waiting Hart. Vince McMahon orders Steve Austin to wrestle The Rock on Raw; if Austin refuses, he must forfeit the IC title. On Nitro Disco Inferno gets serious and he gets a shot at the TV title. Diamond Dallas Page wrestles Scott Hall in the main event, and Ric Flair sends a message to Bret Hart in regards to being "The Best There Is..."
The final WWF PPV of 1997. Steve Austin defends his IC title against The Rock, Triple H takes on the WWF's commissioner Sgt. Slaughter in a Boot Camp match, and Shawn Michaels main events the show in a match with Ken Shamrock.

Over on Nitro Eric Bischoff congratulates Scott Hall for his big World War 3 victory and Hulk Hogan decides to defend the WCW Heavyweight Championship against anyone who wants a shot.
Ravishing Rick Rude makes history when he appears on WWF Raw is War & WCW Monday Nitro on the same night. Vince McMahon explains to viewers how "Bret Screwed Bret" while on Nitro the roster gets ready for the big 60 Man World War battle royal.
It's the night after Survivor Series and the WWF moves forward without one of their most popular and well respected superstars. Shawn Michaels talks about the controversial Montreal match at the beginning of the show, and HBK's buddy Triple H battles Ken Shamrock in the main event. Over on WCW Nitro the nWo are already preparing to welcome The Hitman into the faction.
Sting has signed a match contract to face Hollywood Hogan at Starrcade 1997 but before WCW looks onto it's most financially succesful PPV of all time, the company has the World War 3 show to promote. The Giant says he hopes it comes down to Kevin Nash and himself, Ric Flair wants to throw Curt Hennig out of the match, and Dallas Page wants to win it and hopefully face Hulk Hogan again in the future. Matches on Nitro this week include Curt Hennig vs Lex Luger, Disco Inferno vs Perry Saturn & Ric Flair vs Alex Wright. On WWF Raw is War D-Generation X get more than they bargained for when they make fun of Sgt. Slaughter. Goldust and Marlena have an uncomfortable discussion, and the company look ahead to this Sunday and the most controversial match in wrestling history.

Booker T gets a shot at the US title when he faces Curt Hennig, and Nature Boy Ric Flair main events Nitro with Macho Man Randy Savage. On Raw Bret Hart defends his WWF Championship against Ken Shamrock but Shawn Michaels wants to cause problems for The Hitman. Stone Cold Steve Austin hits another Stunner on his way to Survivor Series, and The Legion of Doom get their entrance gear stolen by Jesse James and Billy Gunn.
Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels get into a fight after the Heartbreak Kid battles Owen Hart on Raw. Stone Cold Steve Austin makes a few surprise appearances and he delivers a few surprise stunners, and Faarooq gets upset about his trashed locker room. On Nitro Larry Zybsko reminds Lex Luger that he'll be a fair referee in Luger's upcoming Halloween Havoc match against Scott Hall. Hollywood Hogan notices the steel cage hanging above the ring after the nWo get jumped at the start of the show, and elsewhere on the card Chris Benoit vs Eddie Guerrero & Curt Hennig vs Dean Malenko takes place.
On WWF Raw is War, Shawn Michaels shows the fans footage of the infamous "Curtain Call" and this gets Vince McMahon all worked up. Owen Hart defends the IC title against Road Warrior Hawk, and "The Hitman" Bret Hart has a grudge match against Triple H. On WCW Nitro a scheduled Macho Man Randy Savage vs Chris Benoit match gets put in jeapordy after Savage gets hurt, Booker T continues his singles run with a match against Jeff Jarrett, and Roddy Piper makes further announcements that the nWo doesn't like.
On WWF Raw is War Shawn Michaels and Triple H give their faction a name this week based on comments made by Bret Hart. The Legion of Doom challenge the Godwinns for the tag titles and if they lose, they promise to retire. Stone Cold Steve Austin gets presented with a new contract from Vince McMahon. On Nitro, The Outsiders must defend the tag titles or they'll be stripped of their championship belts, and seeing as Kevin Nash is injured; Syxx steps in for Big Sexy. Curt Hennig faces Diamond Dallas Page in the main event, and Raven's faction gets 2 new members.
Ric Flair calls into WCW Nitro and he makes a big announcement regarding the Four Horsemen. The Giant promises to get some revenge for the Nature Boy in his main event match against Curt Hennig, and Sting gets spotted in the audience during the broadcast. On WWF Raw is War Vince McMahon gives Stone Cold Steve Austin 3 options in regards to his future. Triple H takes on The Undertaker in the main event but Shawn Michaels, Rick Rude and Chyna have other plans for "The Deadman".
The 100th head-to-head episode of Reliving The War! Raw is live from Madison Square Garden and Steve Austin is looking for another victim. After attacking Owen Hart, Stone Cold gets confronted by Vince McMahon and history is made on Raw is War. Mick Foley also surprises Triple H with the return of Cactus Jack, and Shawn Michaels challenges The Undertaker to a fight 2 weeks before Badd Blood: In Your House. On Nitro Roddy Piper has an announcement that will have a "profound impact" on the nWo. Scott Hall challenges Lex Luger to a match and he also challenges Larry Zybsko to step into the ring, and Hollywood Hogan cuts a promo while wearing Ric Flair's robe from Fall Brawl 97.
On WWF Raw is War, Steve Austin gets a surprise from Owen Hart when The Rattlesnake gets served with some legal papers. The IC title tournament continues with Faarooq vs Ken Shamrock & Dude Love vs Brian Pillman, and The Hart Foundation try to win the Tag Team Titles in the main event. On WCW Nitro features the fallout from War Games and it's all too much for Tony Schiavone. The Outsiders battle Mortis & Wrath, Alex Wright defends the TV Title against Steve Regal, and Steve McMichael tries to get some revenge for the Horsemen when he wrestles Curt Hennig.
Raw is back on Monday Night, meaning head to heads return on Reliving The War. The Undertaker's feud with Shawn Michaels hasn't ended after Ground Zero, HBK learns this week that he'll step into a new structure and take part in a new match-type at the next In Your House show; Hell in a Cell. Another Intercontinental Championship tournament begins this week too, and Owen Hart has promised to get his title belt back. On Nitro Diamond Dallas Page and Lex Luger look to settle their differences in the ring. An interim WCW President gets announced, and this new President makes some big changes to the War Games match taking place at Fall Brawl later in the week.
WCW Nitro is once again unopposed and to celebrate Season 3 of WCW's flagship show, the company present a special 3 hour episode. Hollywood Hogan is in the building and he addresses Sting & JJ Dillon, Lex Luger and DDP try to put their differences aside to take on Scott Hall and Randy Savage, and Alex Wright meets another dancing WCW superstar that sends mixed messages to Das Wunderkind.
WWF Raw is not on the air this week, so WCW Nitro has an unopposed week. WCW try to capitilize by putting on a Lex Luger vs Randy Savage main event. Sting makes an appearance and he confronts Eric Bischoff, and new US and TV champions Steve McMichael and Alex Wright are in action.
On WWF Raw, Shawn Michaels says he has an insurance policy in place for his match against Mankind. Not only that, HBK gets assistance from another 2 unexpected superstars during the main event. This all leads to the creation of the D-Generation X stable. The Patriot gets featured heavily on this week's Raw too, and twice he gets beaten up by Bret Hart and the Hart Foundation. On WCW Nitro Lex Luger explains how disappointed he is with what happened at Road Wild. Steve McMichael and Chris Benoit face The Steiners in a tag team match, and Ric Flair confirms the main event for Clash of the Champions 35 (the final traditional Clash show to air on TBS).
A Special 3-hour episode of Monday Nitro sees Lex Luger get a shot at Hollywood Hulk Hogan's WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The Steiner Brothers reveal their new manager, and Diamond Dallas Page goes to war with Nature Boy Ric Flair. On WWF Raw is War, new WWF Champion Bret Hart finds out his In Your House: Ground Zero opponent. Shawn Michaels lets the fans know what he thinks of them while turning heel also.

On WCW Nitro, it's announced that Lex Luger will get his WCW Championship match early. Luger vs Hogan will take place next week during the 100th episode of Nitro. Macho Man Randy Savage battles Scotty Steiner in the main event, and Curt Hennig continues to confuse fans in regards to which faction he's aligning himself with.
WCW Nitro is on a Tuesday Night this week, so no head to head battle took place. On Nitro, Hollywood Hogan answers Lex Luger's challenge for Road Wild. Booker T takes on Buff Bagwell, Hector Guerrero battles brother Eddie, and The Outsiders wrestle in the main event against Ric Flair and Chris Benoit. WWF Raw comes from Halifax, Nova Scotia and the crowd in attendance is behind Bret Hart and The Hart Foundation. The show gets main evented with a Flag Match, and Shawn Michaels makes an announcement that gets the fans riled up.
WCW gets ready for Bash at the Beach 1997 with their final Nitro before the event. Roddy Piper confronts Ric Flair, DDP surprises Macho Man Randy Savage, and Hollywood Hogan is in attendance and he has a message for The Giant and Lex Luger. WWF Raw is War comes from Edmonton, Alberta and the Canadian fans give The Hart Foundation another great reaction following their Canadian Stampede victory. Bret wrestles in the main event against Goldust.

On WWF Raw, a tag team tournament begins where the winners will face Steve Austin and his new tag team partner; Shawn Michaels will not be on TV to defend the tag titles, so Austin (reluctantly) needs to get himself a team mate. Faarooq also reveals the Nation of Domination's new members.
The night after King of the Ring 1997. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels have been sent home due to a backstage fight, so Raw goes through major creative changes hours before going live. Scheduled matches include Steve Austin vs Brian Pillman, Owen Hart vs Sycho Sid and British Bulldog vs Goldust. It's announced at the beginning of WCW Nitro that Hollywood Hogan must wrestle on the show as per orders from the WCW Executive Committee. Lex Luger gets the chance to step into the ring with The Hulkster while The Outsiders battle Roddy Piper and Ric Flair.
The 1997 King of the Ring pay per view goes through major changes when the Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels match gets cancelled. Stone Cold Steve Austin's match with Brian Pillman also gets cancelled and instead, it's decided that the WWF Tag Team Champions (HBK & Austin) will face eachother at the PPV. On Raw, the tag team have to defend their titles against The Legion of Doom. On Monday Nitro, Scott Hall faces Ric Flair in the main event. Randy Savage decides he wants to cut a promo and things quickly turn violent when The Macho Man attacks J.J. Dillon.

This week's episode of WWF Raw features the infamous "Sunny Days" promo. While Bret Hart lays out a challenge for Shawn Michaels at the 1997 King of the Ring, HBK decides to take the low road with a comment that gets Bret a little heat at home. On WCW Nitro, Ric Flair is on form after his team won the Slamboree main event, but Syxx wants to face The Nature Boy in a singles match live on TNT.

Matches this week include Glacier vs Lizmark Jr, Rey Mysterio vs Syxx, Crush running the Gauntlet and The Legion of Doom vs Furnas & Lafon.
WCW Nitro goes back to a 60 minute format thanks to the NBA Playoffs, meaning WWF Raw has extra TV time for a few weeks in comparison to the wrestling on TNT. Ric Flair and Roddy Piper challenge the nWo to a fight on Monday Nitro while Chris Benoit goes to war with Steve Regal. Over on Raw, we have an important night for the Hart Foundation - Not only does a new member get revealed, but a big singles title comes to the Harts when Rocky Maivia loses the Intercontinental Championship.
Raw is in South Africa this week and the show is headlined by Ahmed Johnson vs Crush, Nitro is live from Philidelphia and the WCW monday night show is headlined by Lex Luger vs Kevin Nash... guess which show is better! With the WWF mere days before their "Revenge of the Taker" PPV, the company manage to flush their momentum down the toilet with one of the worst episodes of Raw of 1997. The question is; can they recover next week?
