Get 10% off your first month of BlueChew Gold with code Wrestle at http://BlueChew.com On this episode of Something To Wrestle, Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson pull back the curtain on the chaos, controversy, and creative decisions surrounding The Great American Bash 2008. Bruce dives deep into the backstage environment at WWE during this time and explains the reasoning behind one of the most talked-about moves in wrestling broadcasting the decision to remove Jim Ross from Monday Night RAW. What really led to that call, and how did JR handle it behind the scenes? The guys also break down the creation of McMahon's Million Dollar Mania, the fan interactive concept that had Vince McMahon giving away real cash on live television. How did the idea come together? What was happening internally at WWE that made this the direction they went? And what was the reaction from the locker room and production team when the boss started dialing random fans during RAW? Plus, Bruce shares his candid thoughts on how much influence talent should have in developing their own storylines, the balance between creative direction and performer input, and what worked and didn't during this unique period in WWE history. If you love hearing the real stories behind the decisions that shaped WWE television, this episode is absolutely loaded with insight, humor, and behind the scenes perspective. There's a lot of meat on this bone, and Bruce isn't holding back on this jam packed edition of Something To Wrestle. On March 17th, thousands of St. Patrick's Day Parades take place across the globe. New York's parade, dating back to the 1760s, draws three million people and reinforces the stereotype that the parade is an American invention. Yet parades have been taking place since at least the early 17th century. The real origins of St. Patrick's Day Parade are far more complicated, and far more contentious, than anyone imagines. In this episode, originally released on Transatlantic, the Irish American history podcast I make with Damian Shiels, we explore this history with Dr. Cian T. McMahon from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Cian challenges the myths surrounding the parade's origins and reveals how it became one of the world's most contested cultural events. He examines how it reflects the constantly changing nature of Irish identity and explores how women and LGBTQ+ activists fought for the right to participate in a celebration that was often fiercely controlled.Cian T. McMahon is Professor of History at the Department of History and Honors College at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He was the co-editor of The Routledge History of Irish America and is the author The Coffin Ship: Life and Death at Sea during the Great Irish Famine and The Global Dimensions of Irish Identity: Race, Nation and the Popular Press, 1840-1880.Sound by Kate Dunlea.Listen to American Emigrants in Irish Folklore on Transatlantic, An Irish American History Podcast: https://shows.acast.com/transatlantic/episodes/37-memories-of-homeSupport the show: Patreon.com/irishpodcast Hosted on Acast. Drawing on Gottman's research, she explains the physiological overwhelm behind the behavior and offers practical tools, like structured time-outs and calming techniques, to help couples reconnect and de-escalate arguments. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://www.couplestherapyinc.com/stonewalling/ Quotes to ponder: "Evidence reveals that stonewalling happens when a partner feels overwhelmed, shuts down emotionally, and breaks eye contact." "When stonewalling is a manipulative or controlling strategy, seek help right away. When it is deliberate, it is a form of emotional abuse." "In other cases, stonewalling is a trauma response. Who let that mullet back in here? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys take a look at the ongoing machinations of the McMahon family, as Mankind defends his Hardcore Title against the Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock; Shawn Michaels' return at Vince's request is a little suspect, and the Undertaker is hunting Stone Cold Steve Austin. Gary: Welcome to Search the Scriptures 24/7, a radio ministry of The Berean Call with T.A. McMahon. I'm Gary Carmichael. It's great to have you along. In today's program, Tom wraps up a two-part series with guest Rob Congdon as they address the topic: What's New with Calvinism? Here's TBC executive director Tom McMahon.Tom: Thanks, Gary. My guest for our second part of this series is Robert Congdon. He's the founder of Congdon Ministries International, CMI, and it's a ministry, as we mentioned last week, that has sought to assist local churches, earlier in Great Britain and particularly in the US, but now he's expanded the work to include other countries. And, as I mentioned, a primary focus of CMI is dealing with the defense of dispensationalism, premillennialism, and we talked last week about the importance of biblical hermeneutics – how anyone who reads the Bible and wants to know what God is saying…we have two other terms, “exegesis” and “eisegesis.” Well, eisegesis is when we approach the Scriptures with what we want it to say, or imposing our own ideas on it, whereas exegesis is trying to figure out what God is saying, and that's the heart of CMI. And, Rob, welcome back to Search the Scriptures 24/7.

A small but vibrant rural community in West Clare is coming together this week to support a centre that sits at the very heart of local life. Kilmurry McMahon Community Centre, originally built as a school in the late 1800s, is in the middle of a major refurbishment project — with plans not only to upgrade the historic building but also to develop a new outdoor pickleball court. With €160,000 in grant funding secured, the committee is now fundraising to bridge the remaining gap — and a special trad concert this Saturday night, February 28th, is set to play a big part in that effort. Mary Neylon from the community centre committee joined Alan Morrissey on Morning Focus to tell us about the concert and refurbishments. Image © Kilmurry McMahon Community Centre via FaceBook
In the news cycle, an elderly woman attempting to poison her husband would have garnered a pretty small amount of attention from the press, then faded away when a larger story came along. But it didn't take long for the press to learn that the poisoning of Melissa Ann Shepard's new husband wasn't the first time she had been suspected or convicted of attempted murder. In fact, Melissa Ann Shepard had a criminal history in two countries that went back decades, including many crimes that were very similar to the one she had just perpetrated only with a much worse outcome. The Dean's List with Host Dean Bowen – Americans should be concerned at the thought of any foreign nation pumping millions of dollars into our education system. It's concerning that McMahon noted there is “funding from countries and entities that are involved in activities that threaten America's national security.” How long has this been going on? Why have we been allowing it?
How much of who we are is shaped before we ever have a say? In this episode of Identified, Nabil Ayers sits down with musician Damon McMahon, formally Amen Dunes, to explore how family history, inherited trauma, and cultural identity shape who we become. Damon reflects on growing up between two very different worlds: his mother’s side of European Jewish Holocaust survival and his father’s working-class Irish American roots. He shares stories of how these legacies lived quietly in his family — sometimes spoken, often unspoken — and how they influenced his sense of self from an early age. The conversation moves through complicated family dynamics, childhood instability, and the ways creativity can act as a private space for processing what’s difficult to articulate. Damon talks candidly about how his music has long been a way of exploring identity, releasing emotion, and trying to understand the forces that shaped him. They also discuss how becoming a parent reshaped his understanding of family — not as something inherited, but something actively created.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Melting ICE? The Trump administration’s announcement—reinforced by Tom Homan—that Minnesota’s ICE surge operation is being scaled down after a “mission accomplished”‑style success. Clay and Buck outline how Minneapolis quietly reached a handshake agreement to reverse sanctuary‑style resistance and begin alerting ICE when violent illegal immigrants are taken into custody, a major policy pivot after years of non‑cooperation. The hosts warn that activist “street harpies,” Antifa‑aligned groups, and left‑wing organizers may try to replicate Minneapolis’s obstruction tactics in other liberal cities. They also dive deep into the political consequences, arguing that Tim Walz’s political career is effectively over, and preview competitive 2026 races—especially the Minnesota Senate race, where Michelle Tafoya trails by just a few points. MASA: Make America Smart Again A major interview featuring U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, who outlines several key initiatives aimed at reshaping American education during the lead‑up to America’s 250th anniversary. A major focus of the conversation is the newly launched Presidential 1776 Award, a national civics and history competition created to reverse declining historical literacy among young Americans. McMahon explains that students will take a 90‑minute “Impossible Test” of 4,000 rapid‑fire questions, advancing through three rounds for scholarships of up to $150,000. Clay and Buck enthusiastically offer to take the test themselves—joking about challenging media figures—and highlight how this effort aligns with a broader push to revive foundational American history. The interview expands into President Trump’s education reform strategy, which aims to return educational authority to the states by dismantling federal bureaucracy and moving Department of Education functions to other agencies. McMahon emphasizes that despite more than $3 trillion spent since the Department’s creation in 1980, national test scores have declined—proving that centralized control has failed. She highlights the “Mississippi Miracle,” where the state dramatically boosted literacy by reinstating phonics‑based “science of reading” instruction, prompting other states to adopt similar reforms. She also discusses school innovation across the country—from classical academies to AI‑driven models like Austin’s Alpha School—and her goal of producing a best‑practices toolkit for all fifty states. The hour then pivots sharply to controversial school protests in Minneapolis, where staff and administrators walked out during political demonstrations, prompting criticism that public schools behave as “shock troops” for far‑left activism. McMahon signals that such closures could invite federal investigation or funding consequences, especially given Minnesota’s already weak academic performance. Clay and Buck follow with a broader critique of America’s K–12 system—calling it a glorified daycare model that prioritizes union demands over student outcomes—while advocating for parental empowerment, school choice, and more flexible education pathways. Another Trans Shooter A major conversation on rising violence involving transgender-identifying shooters, sparked by news of a British Columbia mass shooting. The hosts link this to previous attacks in Minneapolis and Nashville, arguing that the media and police distort facts by prioritizing preferred pronouns over biological accuracy. The transcript includes an extended critique of mental‑health issues, hormonal drugs, and the cultural narrative that non‑affirmation constitutes “genocide,” which the hosts argue contributes to radicalization among vulnerable individuals. They highlight the police’s admission that the Canadian shooter was biologically male, despite earlier claims of “female,” and examine concerns about public safety, media bias, and political correctness. Jesse Kelly Hangs With Us Jesse Kelly, host of The Jesse Kelly Show and author of the newly released Jesse’s Little Red Book opens the hour with their signature banter—roasting each other’s haircuts, mustaches, and Super Bowl party choices—before diving into deeper political and cultural issues shaping the country under President Donald Trump. A major segment centers on Jesse Kelly’s new book, which he describes as a free, 93‑page collection of his insights on politics, culture, party dynamics, and even food. From there, the hosts pivot into a fiery discussion of the Jeffrey Epstein hearings, expressing frustration that self‑identified victims continue holding press events without naming alleged abusers. The conversation compares the situation to the trajectory of the Me Too movement, arguing that legitimate victim advocacy has been diluted by performative claims, opportunism, and media manipulation. The political analysis intensifies as the hosts look ahead to Election 2026, with Jesse predicting that Republicans may lose the House but retain the Senate, depending largely on the strength of the economy and whether “normie voters” feel financial relief in their everyday lives. The hour also features a humorous cultural debate after Clay proposes that Taylor Swift may be evolving into the “21st‑century Beatles,” prompting Jesse’s mock‑therapeutic concern and Buck’s acknowledgment of Swift’s global cultural dominance. Hope's Role in Grief with Jill McMahon In this episode, Mathew Blades and grief counselor Jill McMahon explore the complex relationship between hope, trust, and the grieving process. Drawing from Jill McMahon's expertise in working with those experiencing catastrophic loss and trauma, the conversation unpacks why hope can sometimes feel out of reach or even anxiety-producing in the aftermath of tragedy. They discuss why well-meaning platitudes often miss the mark, how trauma neurologically disrupts our sense of safety, and the importance of simply showing up rather than “fixing” someone's pain. This episode is a compassionate guide for anyone navigating loss or seeking to better understand and support loved ones in grief. What can we do when we love our country, but feel exhausted by politics and unable to understand how the government actually works? Watch the video of this episode on YouTube here. In this episode, Russell–who this guest would lovingly call a “governerd”–welcomes Sharon McMahon, who has been called “America's government teacher,” known online as Sharon Says So and through her Substack The Preamble. They talk about why so many Americans feel either helpless or furious in the public square, and what it would look like to rebuild sanity without sliding into cynicism. McMahon explains how she stays out of partisan leanings by anchoring herself to the Constitution and to moral commitments that can critique both sides—without dehumanizing the people who vote differently. The conversation ranges from digital burnout and practical tools to build better habits to what genuine civic hope looks like, and McMahon makes a case for a “small and mighty” faithfulness: history is shaped by ordinary people who keep doing the next needed thing. Ultimately, the conversation ends with a heed: spend less energy proving you're right and more energy living in a way that makes love believable. If the churn of back-and-forth political rhetoric has you feeling whiplash, anchor yourself in this conversation, which reminds that democracy isn't sustained by viral takes or ideological purity, but by normal people doing the next faithful thing. Sharon says so. Resources mentioned in this episode: The Small and the Mighty by Sharon McMahon We Are Mighty by Sharon McMahon (releasing May 2026).
