The Monday Night Wars journey continues as Wrestling War Zone heads overseas for one of the most controversial WWF events of the 1990s. On episode 160, JT & Chad break down WWF One Night Only, the United Kingdom-exclusive pay-per-view from September 20, 1997. In the main event, Shawn Michaels challenges The British Bulldog for the European Championship in front of a passionate hometown crowd that expected to witness Bulldog's crowning moment. Instead, the WWF delivers one of the most debated booking decisions of the era, creating a memorable and emotional conclusion that would have lasting ramifications for the Hart Foundation and the road to Survivor Series. Elsewhere on the card, Bret Hart battles Undertaker, Owen Hart clashes with Vader, and Dude Love takes on Hunter Hearst-Helmsley as the WWF continues its rapid evolution toward the Attitude Era. JT & Chad discuss the unique atmosphere of a major WWF event held overseas, the crowd reactions throughout the night, and how the company balanced its international audience with its ongoing storylines. JT & Chad break down: • Shawn Michaels vs The British Bulldog for the European Championship • The controversial finish and its long-term impact • Bret Hart vs Undertaker • Dude Love vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley • The Hart Foundation's future • The event's place in the build toward Survivor Series 1997 • Whether One Night Only deserves more recognition among WWF's 1997 pay-per-views Was One Night Only an underrated gem from the Attitude Era's formative months, or a missed opportunity to capitalize on one of the hottest acts in wrestling? Join JT & Chad as Wrestling War Zone continues its deep dive through the most fascinating period of the Monday Night Wars. The Monday Night Wars continue to escalate as Wrestling War Zone returns with JT & Chad breaking down WCW Monday Nitro and WWF Raw is War from September 15, 1997. WCW rolls forward following Fall Brawl as the nWo's grip on the company remains stronger than ever, while tensions continue to build between the black-and-white faction and WCW loyalists. JT & Chad analyze the major storyline developments, key promos, and the continued strength of WCW's loaded roster. Meanwhile, the WWF keeps gaining momentum during the rise of the Attitude Era. Stone Cold Steve Austin remains the company's biggest disruptor as his issues with Vince McMahon and the Hart Foundation continue escalating. The war between WCW and WWE was reaching its boiling point. Bret Hart would challenge The Undertaker for the WWE Championship, with the controversial Shawn Michaels as the special referee. Tensions were high, and the show titled "Hart and Soul" brought a series of stories and stipulations to a talent-stacked card. Despite the talent and star power, the show struggled, and would also play scene to one of the most damaging and defining injuries to a Superstar in history. Join Stefan Bennett as he walks us through the time as well as the events leading up to and following the card in East Rutherford, New Jersey. **Clay Edwards Show – Ted DiBiase Jr: Growing Up as the Son of the Million Dollar Man** Ted opens up about what it was really like growing up in Clinton as the son of the Million Dollar Man. He shares how his childhood felt pretty normal — friends would come over, they'd watch his dad's matches on TV, then run outside and play like regular kids. It wasn't until he was about 7 or 8 that he started realizing his dad wasn't just “Ted” — he was a global superstar. He recalls moments like Virgil (his dad's bodyguard) picking him up from school in a big Lincoln Town Car, and the first time he met Andre the Giant, who scooped him up with one hand like a basketball and called him “little buddy.” Ted talks about seeing his childhood heroes like Bret Hart in the ring and how his dad would always reassure him, “Don't worry, it's not real,” even while living the larger-than-life wrestling lifestyle. Sports Illustrated dropped a Top 20 WWE Superstars of All Time list, and I had two major problems with it: Triple H being ranked over Shawn Michaels, and Roman Reigns being placed in the top 5 already. In this episode of Out Loud with Aaron Simpson, I break down why Shawn Michaels should be ranked above Triple H, why Roman Reigns is one of the most important stars of this era but not top 5 all time yet, and what actually makes a WWE superstar great. We're talking Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Roman Reigns, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, CM Punk, and why wrestling fans will never agree on all-time rankings.I have some thoughts!
Steve Austin is talking to YOU!! He opened up the phone lines, and you called in with all kinds of questions! Find out if Stone Cold was ever ribbed by Vince McMahon, why he would've loved to work for Bill Watts in Mid-South in the 80s, which is his favorite match with The Undertaker, and how the keto diet's working for him. He's also got stories about Brian Pillman, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Ricky Steamboat, Terry Funk, and hanging with William Regal in his WCW days.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

For this episode, I give my thoughts on the Hulk Hogan documentary released on Netflix. I talk about my dislike for documentaries lately. Feel like I didn't learn anything new in this one which is exactly what I expected. Hulk's story has already been well documented and regaled. I talk about the non-stop regaling of WrestleMania 1 and the NWO. I've heard that story a million times already. Also deep dive and break down the portryal of WrestleMania VI match vs. Warrior and WrestleMania IX ending and Bret Hart's commentary.

In this episode we're heading back to 1993 and the World's Largest Toga Party. It's the infamous WrestleMania IX - featuring Bret Hart, Yokozuna, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, a giant naked monster man, and Hulk Hogan ruining my night!
The Monday Night Wars continue on Wrestling War Zone, and this week JT & Chad break down WWF In Your House: Ground Zero from September 7, 1997 — a pivotal pay-per-view that helped push the WWF deeper into the Attitude Era. In the main event, Shawn Michaels faces The Undertaker in their first-ever singles match, but the night descends into chaos as the bout spirals into a wild no contest. JT & Chad dig into the intensity of the Michaels-Undertaker rivalry, the atmosphere in Louisville, and how this match helped set the table for the even bigger confrontation that followed one month later. Elsewhere on the card, Bret Hart defends the WWF Championship against The Patriot, with the Hart Foundation's anti-American storyline remaining one of the company's defining angles of 1997. The guys also discuss Brian Pillman vs. Goldust, including the infamous stipulation involving Marlena, the four-way tag title match where The Headbangers win the vacant WWF Tag Team Championship, and Stone Cold Steve Austin's interference that creates more chaos around Owen Hart and the tag division. We're joined by Rufi Thorpe, author of the book Margo's Got Money Troubles (which will also have a series on Apple TV soon). Bret Hart's match against Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 and his infamous exit from WWF are both well documented; but in between those moments was a largely under-discussed heel turn that helped lay the foundation for the Attitude Era.
