In mid-1994, Hulk Hogan, the 5-time WWF Champion, and babyface centrepiece of Vince McMahon's juggernaut for the previous 10 years, jumped ship to its main competitor, WCW. Having attracted The Hulkster to the company, WCW's Senior Vice President, Eric Bischoff, wasted no time in booking a match that the WWF had decided not to deliver a couple of years earlier, Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair.
