This nugget of wisdom comes during a fascinating discussion about Devon Dudley's recent clarification of his "infatuation" comments about the Billion Dollar Princess.Mac Davis and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long dive deep into the wrestling world's hottest topics, including John Cena's final match announcement for December's Saturday Night's Main Event in Boston. "There's no story," Teddy observes about Cena's farewell tour, highlighting how WWE has "flip-flopped so much" with their legendary superstar's booking. The conversation reveals both hosts' concerns about the lack of compelling narrative leading to this milestone moment. The show's mailbag segment unveils some incredible behind-the-scenes stories, with Teddy sharing memories of filming segments outside traditional arenas - including kidnapping Ric Flair on Lake Lanier and using Flair's boat for storylines. These rare glimpses behind the curtain demonstrate how wrestling's most memorable moments often happen away from the ring.Perhaps the most revealing segment comes during a rapid-fire "Pick One" game, where Teddy must choose between iconic wrestling figures. When selecting Vince McMahon over Triple H, Teddy explains, "Vince certainly was the one that really brought me out there. He's really responsible for me being where I am today." Flair on The Clay Edwards Show: Wrestling Icon Talks Legacy, Cannabis, and Life At Southern Sky Brands in Canton, MS, wrestling legend Ric Flair joined host Clay Edwards for a lively interview blending nostalgia, business, and personal insights. Edwards, a fan since childhood, shared a vivid memory: watching TBS wrestling at 5:05 p.m., where the Four Horsemen broke Dusty Rhodes' leg. His grandfather called Flair "the dirtiest motherfucker in the game"—a compliment in Flair's eyes. At 48, Edwards thanked Flair for decades of memories. Flair's favorite era? NWA in the 1980s. He recalled Jackson Coliseum shows and nights at the Reservoir, bars like The Dock (now gone) and Martin's (still thriving). The chat focused on Flair's "Ric Flair Drip" cannabis line with Southern Sky. Overwhelmed by the facility's quality, Flair praised the team and sales across 200 dispensaries. Edwards, after touring, called it true medical-grade; if he partook, it'd be Flair's brand over competitors. Entry into cannabis came via a late associate and Mike Tyson, a friend since the '80s. Tyson, still in shape post-Jake Paul fight, partnered with Flair. Flair stays fit, deadlifting 400 lbs. Being Flair means constant fame—photos everywhere, but 99% positive. "Living the gimmick" has pitfalls, like tax issues, but he enjoys it. Edwards dubbed him a true icon. Hulk Hogan's recent death added poignancy; Flair plans Biloxi visits before Sept. 2, appearances in 14 states, CarShield ads with Ice-T, and autograph sessions. WOO Energy drink eyes China and Thailand markets. Travel tales included urging Edwards to visit Malaysia; Edwards shared his flying fear and brief LA stint. Excited for Ric Flair Drip's growth, Flair credits Southern Sky's promotion. He appreciates Mississippi's warmth (and drinking prowess over Canadians). On WWE's ESPN deal, Flair's humble: they're printing money. Hogan's decline—surgeries left him diminished—sparked anxiety; Flair's 2017 crisis (organ failure, ICU, stoma) led to life-support limits. Edwards thanked Flair, eager for more MS visits. Flair reciprocated, honored to share his story.

In this electrifying episode of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards kicks off with an unforgettable recap of his recent interview and hangout with wrestling legend Ric Flair. Fresh off a high-energy day that included personal stories about shared health challenges like colostomy experiences, signing the FAFO Championship belt, and enjoying casual meals at local spots, Clay reflects on the thrill of meeting a childhood hero—especially in light of recent losses like Hulk Hogan. He shares behind-the-scenes details, from Flair's larger-than-life personality to switching from beer to mixed drinks to keep up, all while emphasizing the importance of chasing dreams and ignoring naysayers who try to pull you back with "crabs in a bucket" mentality. Shifting gears into current events, Clay dives into a heated discussion on a disturbing incident in Copiah County, where firefighters responding to a deadly wreck were allegedly assaulted by a crowd, including the father of the victim who later turned himself in on felony charges. Clay calls for accountability, highlighting the tragedy of the crash tied to street racing and urging equal outrage over violence regardless of race. He stresses the need for consistent application of the law, critiquing double standards in media coverage and public reactions to interracial crimes. The episode takes a deeper turn into societal issues, exploring fatigue over perceived biases in hate crime prosecutions and law enforcement narratives. Clay revisits past cases, like the 2015 beating death of Eric Hambrick and the 2017 murder of Chelsea Kirchen, flipping the script to question how reactions would differ if roles were reversed. He critiques cultural excuses for criminality, touches on the impact of naming conventions from Freakonomics, and calls out inconsistencies in stories amplified by groups like BLM, advocating for body cams as tools for truth. Wrapping up with a mix of humor and hard truths, Clay encourages listeners to fuel success with negativity from haters, pursue growth, and demand fairness in justice. It's a no-holds-barred FAFO Friday full of raw insights, personal anecdotes, and calls for real change—unfiltered talk that challenges the status quo and inspires action.

Strap in for Episode 1,035 of The Clay Edwards Show – the most incendiary radio show in America! Host Clay Edwards kicks off with unfiltered talk, explaining he's a news reactor, not an investigative journalist, and shouts out Kingfish for deep dives. Dive into the hilarious yet tasteless Mississippi Mud Monsters' blunder: they posted pics with wrestling legend Ric Flair, mistakenly calling him Hulk Hogan (who just passed away – Flair flew straight from the funeral!). Clay roasts their apology, which throws a young marketer under the bus, and ties it to wrestling's "identity crisis" theme. Clay shares his excitement for interviewing Ric Flair today (airing tomorrow!), reminiscing about childhood wrestling memories with his grandfather watching Flair and the Four Horsemen on TBS. He draws parallels between politics and pro wrestling – good guys vs. heels, like Trump body-slamming Hillary. Personal growth shines through: Clay turned down partying with Flair last night at Martin's Downtown to stay sharp, reflecting on starting the show at 42 after selling cars, sacrificing relationships for success, and crediting faith for his turnaround. Health takes center stage: A CDC report reveals Americans get over 50% of calories from ultra-processed foods linked to obesity, diabetes, and cancer. RFK Jr. calls it poisoning; Clay slams excuses like "healthy eating is expensive" and debates banning sweets from EBT to protect taxpayer investments in future healthcare. Listener calls highlight soy's estrogen effects on kids (the "soy boy" phenomenon), feminizing youth, and higher breast cancer risks in certain groups. Sponsors get love: Men's Health for testosterone boosts, Mazda of Jackson, McBee's for lunch specials, and more. Clay motivates: Chase dreams – it's never too late! Not so fast! Even though those two incidents have resonated among wrestling fans for decades, the main reason WCW lost the war is actually all wrapped up in this episode. This Monday Nitro episode sucked! Even though on this show were legendary greats like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Charlotte Flair (as a young Ashley in the ring with her dad), Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Scott Hall, Konan, Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Jericho, Lex Luger, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, Eddie Guerrero and more there were too many long, drawn out vignettes and too little pro wrestling. However, there is an interesting backstory to all this, and it has to do with the ratings when Goldberg finally made it to the arena. Welcome to Episode 26 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight REWIND. Today's episode features an original uncut episode of the historic talk show, hosted by John Arezzi. On this episode we share the July 21st, 1991 broadcast of Pro Wrestling Spotlight, which aired on 1240 AM in West Babylon New York. On this episode we cover the Press Conference held on July 19th, 1991 at NYC's Plaza Hotel, held by Vince McMahon and WWF PR Director Steve Planamenta - to address the steroid scandals exploding at that time. Dr. George Zaharion (WWF Ringside Doctor in PA) was convicted by a jury for illegal distribution of Steroids, and McMahon needed to put water on that fire. The WWF attempted to control the media at that time and did not invite the Wrestling Press to attend (especially yours truly). I was able to get in using an alias, and confronted McMahon about it. All captured on tape. Later on the show - we featured reporter Alex Marvez of the Miami Herald to discuss the turmoil and the scandals. Also we promote Weekend of Champions, which became the largest wrestling fans convention of that era, with the convention featuring Ric Flair (his FIRST signing ever), Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Lou Thesz, Billy Graham, Fabulous Moolah and so many more!
