Long before The Undertaker battled Stone Cold, The Punisher faced off with Steve Williams! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they welcome back Mike and JV from The Bottom Line Wrestling Cast for a Watchalong of USWA TV from 11/4/89 featuring the first ever match between the men who would go on to become The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Who could have ever guessed these two random grapplers from a territory in Texas would one day go on to be on the Mount Rushmore of the WWE? It's a pretty brief encounter, so we decided to watch the entire episode of 80s wrestling ridiculousness including sex symbol Jeff Jarrett, the ludicrous Latin Lover, pop-ins from Percy Pringle and P.Y. Chu Hi, an infamous spanking angle that wouldn't fly in 2025, and a barnburner of a main event between Jerry Lawler and Terry Gordy! Plus we discuss The Undertaker's recent appearance on NXT with the TNA Champion Trick Williams and we share our memories of The Immortal Hulk Hogan in honor of his recent passing. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!    Check out The Bottom Line Wrestling Cast every week as Mike and JV cover the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin one PPV match at a time!   Check out The Extreme ECW Live Cast every week as Mike and JV go episode by episode through ECW!   Pick up our new P.S.K. Thanks to our Partner, NAPA Autotech TrainingIn this episode, Matt Fanslow reflects on the recent passings of two cultural icons—Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan—and draws parallels between their careers and the automotive aftermarket industry. Both figures revolutionized their respective fields (music and professional wrestling) through innovation, perseverance, and an unparalleled connection with their audiences. Matt explores what we can learn from their legacies, including the importance of passion, reinvention, and recognizing opportunities outside our comfort zones.Key Discussion Points1. Ozzy Osbourne: The Accidental Pioneer of Heavy MetalOzzy's final performance at the Power Trip festival, where he performed in immense pain, skipping pain meds to stay present. How Black Sabbath (with guitarist Tony Iommi) accidentally created metal by downtuning guitars after a workplace injury. The importance of appreciating contributions even if you're not a die-hard fan.The value of knowing how you've impacted others (like Ozzy hearing tributes before his passing).2. Hulk Hogan: The Man Who Made Wrestling MainstreamHogan's physical sacrifices (spinal damage from his signature leg drop) and how wrestling is a work but not fake. His ability to connect with audiences in ways no wrestler had before—comparable to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. How Hogan's heel turn (becoming a villain with the NWO) revitalized wrestling during a slump. The role of timing, charisma, and reinvention in long-term success.3. Lessons for the Automotive AftermarketPassion & Perseverance: Like Ozzy and Hogan, success in the aftermarket requires dedication and pushing through challenges.Reinvention: Hogan's shift from hero to villain kept him relevant—how can shops adapt to stay ahead?Breaking Out of Comfort Zones: Both Ozzy and Hogan expanded beyond their core careers (reality TV, movies). How can shops engage in community work, sponsorships, or other visibility-boosting activities?Continuous Improvement: Getting 1% better every day compounds into major growth over time.4. Personal Reflections & Industry ParallelsMatt's admiration for educators like Paul Danner, who revolutionized training accessibility. The importance of finding the right shop culture for growth (just as Hogan thrived under Vince McMahon's WWE expansion). Why awareness of opportunities—both inside and outside the industry—is crucial.Notable Quotes"Ozzy and Hogan didn't just succeed in their fields—they redefined them. That's the kind of impact we should strive for in the aftermarket.""Wrestling isn't fake; it's a performance with real consequences. Same goes for our work—every repair matters.""If you improve by just 0.33% every day, you'll be 100% better in a year. Small steps lead to big changes."While Ozzy and Hogan came from entirely different worlds, their stories remind us that innovation, adaptability, and connection are universal keys to success. In this explosive episode of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards delivers unfiltered, no-holds-barred commentary on the hottest issues shaking America. Kicking off with a raw take on transparency in leadership and the fight against cancel culture, Clay dives deep into the spotlight on overlooked topics from Jackson, Mississippi, and beyond, exposing corruption and calling for real solutions in a broken system. Clay tackles the shocking mass shooting at NFL headquarters by 27-year-old former high school football player Shane Tumara, who blamed CTE despite never playing professionally. He unpacks the media's spin, questioning ties to Blackrock, pro-Palestine activism, and how hits to the head are being used to deflect from deeper motives. Drawing parallels to past controversies like George Floyd's death, Clay challenges narratives and demands accountability, emphasizing that reality must trump political bias. Shifting gears, Clay addresses a brutal hate crime in Cincinnati, where a roving gang viciously attacked innocent white attendees leaving a music festival, including a man stomped unconscious and a woman punched for checking on him. He highlights the media's silence, trends in urban violence, and why suburbs exist as safe havens. Featuring audio from Vice President JD Vance, who condemns the lawlessness and calls for prosecuting thugs to restore safety in American cities, Clay urges equal application of hate crime laws and criticizes excuses like poverty or provocation. He stresses situational awareness and the need for communities to speak out, echoing "silence is violence" from past movements. The episode also mourns the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, critiquing vile reactions from figures like a Florida school board chair who celebrated it as "one less MAGA in the world." Clay explores Hogan's past racist comments, his apology, and the hypocrisy in forgiveness, contrasting it with societal leniency toward violence in certain communities. He calls out "Black fatigue" and demands consistent consequences, while sharing his wrestling Mount Rushmore: Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock. Throughout, Clay shares personal stories, from birthday shoutouts to excitement for local boxing events featuring friends like Topher, Luke Greenlee, and Bubba Easterling on August 16th in Neshoba County. With fiery rants on stereotypes, victim culture, and the soul of America, this episode is a strap-in ride for truth-seekers tired of sugarcoated talk. The Legends and Champions podcast is turning back the clock to one of the most monumental and controversial nights in professional wrestling history. In its upcoming episode, the show will provide a deep dive into the 2001 Survivor Series, the epic culmination of the chaotic and unforgettable Invasion angle. Twenty-four years ago, the war between the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and The Alliance (a coalition of World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling) reached its boiling point. The main event was a "Winner Take All" 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match that promised to forever change the landscape of sports entertainment. Join the Legends and Champions crew as they break down the star-studded main event that pitted Team WWF's The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane, and Big Show against The Alliance's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and Shane McMahon. The podcast will analyze the shocking betrayal that led to the downfall of The Alliance and dissect the lasting impact of this legendary match. Survivor Series 2001 was more than just a pay-per-view; it was the explosive conclusion to a storyline that brought together the biggest names from three major promotions, We'll explore the incredible pressure these athletes were under and the moments that have been etched in wrestling fans' memories for over two decades. Beyond the iconic main event, the episode will also revisit the stacked undercard, which featured several high-stakes title unification matches, including: WCW United States Championship vs. WWF Intercontinental Championship: Edge vs. Test WCW Tag Team Championship vs. WWF Tag Team Championship in a Steel Cage: The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz You can expect a nostalgic journey, filled with expert analysis, little-known details, and a celebration of the legendary figures who defined an era. RAW is Jericho on April, 17th 2000! WWF RAW opens the show hot with Chris Jericho vs Triple H, in what was scheduled as a non-title match with Triple H defending the honor of Stephanie McMahon. Jericho verbally assaults Triple H and convinces him to put the WWF Championship on the line right now! After a referee gets bumped during the match, Earl Hebner comes in at the end of the match and counts the pin for Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho is the NEW WWF Champion, for all of 2 minutes. Triple H argues with the refs and says that Earl made a fast count and needs to reverse the decision. Earl agrees as long as Triple H doesn't mess with him while he works for the WWF. Triple H goes along with it until he gets his title back. He then fires Hebner and beats him up. Also, Linda McMahon is here with a big surprise that she won't tell anyone about. She goes into the ring and says that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in the corner of The Rock at the Backlash against Triple H. This makes Triple H and Stephanie upset and Stephanie goes to slap her mom. However, Linda was ready and countered it by slapping her back. Bill Burr is one of the funniest comics working today, but as you'll hear straight from his mouth, his was no overnight success! He talks about how he got his start, his early days doing open mics, the good and bad gigs, and his big break. He and Steve also discuss the parallels between the pro-wrestling and comedy biz - road travel, paying your dues, and working the crowd. And Bill is a huge wrestling fan (thanks to friend, the late, great Patrice O'Neal), and has a couple of his own Hulk Hogan stories to share.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
