One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Hunter invites us into the powerful stories of Exodus chapters 9–11 and Luke 24. As we journey through moments of great trial in Egypt—the devastating plagues and Pharaoh's hardened heart—we're reminded of God's persistent call to freedom and faith. Then we shift to a scene of heartbreak and surprise: the risen Jesus walks alongside two disciples on the road to Emmaus, opening their eyes to hope once again. Throughout the episode, Hunter encourages us to be attentive to how Jesus meets us in our own moments of disappointment and confusion, just as he did with the disciples so long ago. With thoughtful reflection, heartfelt prayers, and an invitation to see the world through love, we're guided to find God's presence—and transforming joy—even in unexpected places. Whether you're new to this community or a longtime listener, there's a warm welcome here to walk together in faith, prayer, and hope. Let's open our hearts to God's word and remember: you are loved, no doubt about it. TODAY'S DEVOTION: TODAY'S DEVOTION: Jesus meets these two men on the way to a little town outside of Jerusalem. It's a seven-mile walk and the town is called Emmaus. Their hearts are dejected, their hopes and aspirations dashed. They're broken. Having followed Jesus through his ministry, they had hoped that he was the Messiah. They had seen many of his miraculous signs and they were overcome by his amazing teaching and thought, "This could be it. This might be the man." Yet three days prior, they had seen that man that they had pinned all their hopes on crucified. Now the story that they hoped for had come to an end. So they thought. But it's here, at this moment, when their hearts are at their darkest and their hopes are most broken, that Jesus shows up. He's veiled to them, but eventually he's going to unveil Himself and show them who He really is. At this point, veiled Jesus reminds them of some things they should have known, things they should have seen. Luke writes that Jesus says to them, "You foolish people, you find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn't it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before he entered his glory?" And then, this stranger on the road begins to take them through the writings of Moses and the prophets, and he explains from the Scriptures what they should have been able to see. There are things that we should be able to see that Jesus can reveal to us. Luke says he took them through the Scriptures concerning himself. He explains who the Messiah is. He is offering them a way—a way of seeing, seeing things that they should have been able to see, things about God, things about themselves, things about love. He is showing them that He is the way that we begin to regain our sight: to see what is true about ourselves, about God, about the world, about what is true. We are on a journey. These two are on a journey to Emmaus, and they're trying to talk their way clear on this profound disappointment in their life. They're disappointed with what they believe to be true. They're disappointed that God didn't somehow change the circumstances, that Jesus didn't meet their expectations. They're disappointed with the world and the way it is. They're disappointed with themselves. No doubt they had hope for something and they thought that that hope had let them down. Maybe you are on your own journey to Emmaus, or maybe you know what that's like. Maybe you are disappointed—disappointed that God didn't come through the way you thought he would, that things haven't worked out. Maybe you're disappointed with yourself. Maybe you had hopes that didn't pan out. Maybe today we can pay close attention and see the way that Jesus is inviting us to see. Maybe today we can pay close attention to the presence of God with us. He might be unrecognizable at first, but maybe we can pay special attention and listen to Him. If we do, He will often open up the Scriptures to help us to see things that we should have seen all along. Maybe He will reveal Himself in the breaking of bread, and you'll see that He has been with you through it all—even the disappointments, the hopes unrealized. Maybe if we keep listening and walking, we'll discover His way of seeing: seeing the world, seeing ourselves, seeing our neighbors, seeing all things through love. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. This episode was recorded a few years ago.James Fetzer, a former Marine Corps officer and philosophy professor who founded Scholars for 9/11 Truth, argues that the official 9/11 story is fundamentally wrong. His main theory is that the Twin Towers weren't brought down by plane crashes and fires, but were actually destroyed using mini or micro nuclear devices placed in the buildings' core columns. He reckons these nuclear weapons had "dialable radii" and were directed upward to blow the towers apart from the top down, creating the appearance of a collapse whilst actually converting the buildings into fine dust.James also argues that none of the official aircraft actually crashed on 9/11 - no planes hit the towers, the Pentagon, or crashed in Pennsylvania. What sets him apart from other 9/11 researchers is that he doesn't just focus on how the buildings were destroyed, but also insists on addressing who was responsible and why it happened. ✉️ Please subscribe to my addictive newsletter

Vision Sunday message from Pastor Jonathan Barber. January 18, 2026
Many Christians struggle with spiritual growth, thinking they need to try harder or be more disciplined. However, Paul's prayer in Colossians 1:9-11 reveals a different approach. True spiritual growth begins with being filled with the knowledge of God's will, which leads to walking worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit, and experiencing joyful endurance. The key isn't self-improvement or behavior modification, but living in deeper dependence on our union with Christ. God provides the supernatural power needed for growth through the Holy Spirit, not through our own strength or discipline.
“After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went to the disciples, who were grieving and weeping, and told them what had happened. But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn’t believe her.” (Mark 16:9–11 NLT) Of all the people Jesus could have appeared to first after His resurrection, He appeared to Mary Magdalene. Mary was yet another in a long line of unlikely people entrusted by the Lord with important responsibilities. Think about it. Jacob was an opportunist who tricked both his brother and his father to get what he wanted (see Genesis 27:1–40). Moses was a murderer who had no confidence in his ability to speak, let alone lead an entire nation out of enslavement (see Exodus 3:1–4:17). Rahab was a prostitute living in enemy territory (see Joshua 2:1–24). Gideon responded to God’s call with these words: “How can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” (Judges 6:15 NLT). David was such an unlikely candidate to be anointed king that his own father dismissed the possibility (see 1 Samuel 16:1–13). Esther was a young Jewish girl who became the queen of Persia after winning a beauty contest (see Esther 2:1–20). The “faith hall of fame” in Hebrews 11 is filled with inductees who probably wouldn’t have made the ballot if their peers had been on the selection committee. But, as God explained to Samuel, “The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7 NLT). The Lord will not overlook anyone whose heart is attuned to Him. The women who followed Jesus and supported His ministry certainly recognized that. It would be an understatement to say that women were not held in high regard in first-century Israel. Many rabbis taught that it was better for the words of the Law to be burned than to be delivered by a woman. Yet Jesus chose a woman to be the first herald of His resurrection. It’s also worth noting that women were the last people at the cross and the first people at the tomb. Mary Magdalene had courage that many men lacked when Jesus was crucified. She stood by Him through it all. In fact, the Bible tells us that after He was crucified, Mary “saw where Jesus’ body was laid” (Mark 15:47 NLT). She watched as they took His body from the cross, wrapped it, and placed it in a tomb that belonged to Joseph of Arimathea. And Mary, along with other women, arrived at the tomb very early on Sunday morning to anoint Jesus’ body with spices (see Mark 16:1–2). Mary’s faithfulness was rewarded with a key role in history. The Lord says, “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me” (Jeremiah 29:13 NLT). God rewards the diligent. He will reveal His truths to those who set aside time in their day to seek the Lord, who prioritize His Word, and wait upon Him. 011426 Kate on Local Politicians To WHY Vote to 9/11 To Elvis To Grocery Stores Secrets by Kate Dalley
When I set out to record this episode of The Terrorist Therapist® Show, I planned to alternate examples of how some places reflect the ‘best oftimes' and some the ‘worst of times' for terrorists. But, my research quickly revealed a lot more instances of 'best times', that is opportunities to realize their long-held goal of taking over the world. We start by noting that this month is the 11-year anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris, the murder of magazine editors who dared publish a cartoon of Mohammed. The cowering to terrorists that followed made it a watershed moment for Europe, which has never been the same. The radical Islamist migrants have reached a tipping point, violently obliterating the culture and coffers of Europe and the UK, on their way to America. America is having its own ‘Charlie Hebdo watershed moment', where people are cowering to terrorists. The Call to Prayer is blasted from loudspeakers from Dearbornistan to Minnesotastan to NYC and more. It's terrifying that New York City, the site of 9/11, has been taken over by a terrorist, Mayor Mamdani, and they're about to celebrate the NYPD's 4th annual World Hijab Day. Imagine celebrating hijabs in NYC, while brave women in Iran take them off as part of their rebellion against the terrorist regime. We turn to the explosive situation in Iran. Peppered in this episode are a few examples in the world where it's the ‘worst of times' for terrorists, like a street in Tehran that has just been renamed ‘President Trump Street'.
Clarence Singleton joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967 while was still in high school. The valedictorian then went through boot camp at Parris Island and was eager to join the fight in Vietnam. He arrived in early 1968 and endured a major rocket attack on his first night there. He would be seriously wounded just days before his tour in Vietnam was set to end.Several years later, he joined the New York City Fire Department and ended up responding to both terrorist attacks against the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001.In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Singleton tells us how Parris Island changed him and prepared him for war. He describes combat in Vietnam and takes us through the day he was shot multiple times by enemy forces.Singleton then tells us about responding to the 1993 terrorist bombing at the World Trade Center and how he helped a woman going into premature labor. He also details rushing to the twin towers on 9/11 even though he had retired a year earlier and shares how he miraculously survived the collapse of the North Tower.
The first minutes hit like a siren: why are graphic scenes of war broadcast in real time, and who gains from the outrage? From there we follow a veteran who stopped scrolling and bought a plane ticket—Dubai to Jerusalem, through the Old City's quarters and into the West Bank with a Palestinian Christian guide. He describes 702 checkpoints in a territory the size of a small state, villages fenced and locked, and settlers in civilian clothes carrying M4s he says trace back to US aid. Between family visits and stories of demolished homes and lost permits, the moral question sharpens: what does it mean when American taxes echo as gunfire in another land?To watch the episode in studio, visit: https://youtu.be/7_xFtqNZAJwTo watch to Part 1 of this two part episode, visit: https://youtu.be/Z03jag9JUtcWe pull back the camera to the information war: censorship, the algorithmic burying of uncomfortable footage, and narratives that turn neighbors into enemies. The host and guest argue that culture wars function like a trap—keeping citizens as “human batteries” fed on distraction, debt, and division. The alternative is demanding but tangible: personal excellence, strong families, financial independence, homesteading and homeschooling where possible, and a conscious march into media, education, finance, and tech to rebuild the culture that reshapes policy. No calls for insurrection here—only a sober read on how uprisings are used to justify tighter surveillance and how real change is planted, tended, and grown. The conversation then traces an arc few podcasts dare: from the destruction of the Second Temple to Constantine's Edict of Milan, the Nicene Creed, the Great Schism, and the Reformation. For listeners lost in a sea of shifting pulpits and politicized sermons, Orthodoxy is presented as a throughline—apostolic succession, unchanged creed, and the writings of the Church Fathers—as a stable anchor in an age of spin. The finale turns to purpose. The odds of your existence are nearly zero; don't donate your life to an algorithm. Seek Christ, ask for truth, and pursue a calling with integrity. If this resonated, share it with a friend, subscribe for future deep dives, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation. Please visit our website to get more information: https://wildchaosshow.com/
Abounding Love Week 2 of the Philippians Series Speaker: Scott Hickox Scripture: Philippians 1:9-11
In Ecclesiastes 9:11–18, Solomon confronts one of the great paradoxes of life under the sun: wisdom is of immeasurable value, yet it is often invisible, ignored, and forgotten. Outcomes in this world do not reliably reveal who is wise, righteous, strong, or favored. Time and chance disrupt our expectations, and even the wisest people may live and die unnoticed.Solomon begins by observing that success does not always correspond to ability. The swift do not always win the race, the strong do not always prevail in battle, and the wise do not always gain riches or recognition. Life's outcomes are uncertain, and death comes unexpectedly to all. Because of this, we cannot reason backward from success or failure to determine wisdom or worth.Against this backdrop, Solomon presents a striking illustration: a poor, wise man who delivers an entire city through wisdom rather than strength—yet is quickly forgotten. The lesson is clear. Wisdom is greater than power, louder voices, wealth, or military might, even though it is frequently despised and overlooked.Solomon then presses the point further. Wisdom spoken quietly is better than the shouting of rulers, and wisdom accomplishes what weapons of war cannot. Yet he also warns that a single sin can destroy much good, reminding us that true wisdom is inseparable from righteousness and the turning away from evil. This passage calls us to walk by faith and not by sight. Wisdom cannot always be recognized by outward circumstances, social standing, or visible success. Like acceptance before God, wisdom often remains hidden in this life. Its true value is not measured by outcomes but by alignment with God's will.Ultimately, Scripture leads us beyond Solomon to Christ Himself, who embodies this “unknown glory” of wisdom. Jesus was despised and rejected, overlooked by the world, and crucified in weakness—yet He is the Wisdom of God, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. What the world counts as foolish, God declares wiser than all human wisdom.True wisdom is found in the fear of the Lord, in turning away from sin, and supremely in coming to Christ. Though the world may ignore it, this wisdom is more valuable than all the treasures it can offer.#Ecclesiastes #BiblicalWisdom #FearOfTheLord #Wisdom #UnionWithChrist #ChristIsWisdom #ChristianSermon #OldTestament #WalkingByFaith

On November 24, 1971, a man calling himself Dan Cooper (later known as D.B. Cooper) boarded a Northwest Orient flight from Portland to Seattle. He told the flight attendant that he had a bomb and demanded $200,000 in cash and 4 parachutes. His demands were met. Over a dense forest in a rainstorm, he parachuted out of the plane with the money, was never seen again, and became a legend.
