"War is for Moloch" reflects a concept in which war serves the ends of a destructive, all-consuming force, often represented by the ancient deity Moloch, a figure associated with child sacrifice and a demand for human and material cost. This idea suggests that war isn't for a noble cause but rather as a ritualistic offering to this destructive entity, perpetuating itself on the lives and resources it devours. We will be discussing more highlights from Wafik's latest book Global Christianity and Islam - Exploring History Politics and Beliefs. Wafik will also give us a concise overview about the differences between how Christians and Muslims understand the Person of Jesus. Dr. Wahba is one of 31 contemporary reformed theologians who have contributed to The Future of Reformed Theology, edited by Willis, David & Welker, Michael, (Eerdmans, 1999). Dr. Wahba has also published in Zur Zunkunft Der Reformierten Theologie, (Neukirchener Verlag, 1998). He co-led the unit on Theological Education for Mission at the 2004 Forum of Lausanne Committee in Pattaya, Thailand and is one of the authors of “Effective Theological Education for World Evangelization” Lausanne Occasional Paper No. 57, (May 2005). Join the Garage Hour in a little bit of remembrance this 9/11: thank a veteran, pat someone in law enforcement on the back (not by surprise, though), and pour one out for those who aren't with us anymore.  While we're at it, how about some Megadeth - this may be a somber day, but a little thrash metal makes everyone feel better.

Adam Eisenberg was an infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, the third U.S. Infantry.   He spent approximately 240 hours on site at the Pentagon between September 11th and the 30th. He was engaged in what was known at the time as Operation Noble Eagle, which was our nation's initial response to what happened at the Pentagon.

THE END of Ahab's line came within a span of seven years. Jehu, an Israelite military commander under Ahab's son, King Jehoram (or Joram), was anointed king over the northern kingdom at the direction of the prophet Elisha. Jehu moved quickly to eliminate Jehoram and the rest of the sons of Ahab. We explain why Ahab didn't literally have 70 sons (the number 70 in the ancient Near East was not a quantity; it was a symbol that represented “all of them”). Jehoram's nephew, King Ahaziah of Judah, was also killed by Jehu as he fled in his chariot, finally dying at the city of Megiddo. Then Jehu went to Jezreel and found Jezebel, the queen mother, whose last act in this world was probably screaming after she was tossed out of a tower window by her eunuchs. That left only Athaliah, mother of King Ahaziah. Athaliah was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, the sister of King Jehoram of Israel. When she heard that Ahaziah was dead, she tried to kill all of her grandsons. Why? She—and really, it was the Fallen realm motivating her—tried to eliminate the line of David (her husband, King Jehoram of Judah, son of Jehoshaphat, was a descendant of David) and replace it with the line of Ahab. Unfortunately for Athaliah, she missed one—an infant boy named Joash. Jehoiada the priest had secretly saved and raised Joash in the Temple. At the age of seven, Jehoiada brought him out, proclaimed him king, and, at his command, had Athaliah put to death, thus putting an end to the house of Ahab.
