A podcast about Watford Football Club, started in 2016. Hosted by Jonny Brick (author of Saturday, 3pm: A Modern Guide to Modern Football) and panellists Paul & Gary Tucker. We all love beer, pizza and Watford FC. Say hello via Twitter @ronnyandramage or drop us an email: helloblasto@gmail.com
Paul, Gaz and special guest(s) fire up the mic one last time to talk Watford FC and their favourite bits from the last five (six?) years. Thanks for listening all, it's been fun. COYH
On the beach and there's not a huge amount to talk about if we're honest; the chaps still manage to waffle for 20 mins about Bachmann, Foster, Deeney and this and that.
Premier League here we come! The chaps dissect (or have a brief chat) the Luton, Norwich and Millwall games.
Can this pod match the excitement from those two Ismaila Sarr thunderbolts? No, but hopefully some reasonable match analysis will do...
Discussion of the four points gained against Weds and Boro. Bonus points for the chaps for not once mentioning Neil Warnock and keeping blood pressure low as a result...
A bit later than planned, the positivity has survived as the chaps discuss Brum and Rotherham games. Whisper it quietly but the Horns might be going up....
We'll forgive you if you fell asleep in that second half, Chris Hughton football and all. Paul and Gaz try to unpick the parts of the game that weren't mundanely boring (no discussion of the last half hour then)....
Three wins in three games. Superb. The chaps will surely be upbeat and positive about this. Surely.......
Paul and Gaz try to find some positives from the Watford vs QPR game and settle for talking about Dennis Bergkamp's son.
Three games, nine points, turns out not everything has gone to sh*t during lockdown 3.0. Paul and Gaz discuss the Horns performances over the past three games.
The chaps are a back a day later than planned with a review of the Man United game.
In what was supposed to be a pod about the Swansea game, the chaps talk very little about the Swansea game and try to dissect what's going on with the players and the new managerial appointment instead (spoiler, they have no idea).
The chaps are back to discuss two games, combined shots on target in those games = 1. Should be a good one, this....
Two games, four points, Troy is back, Gary Porter in the Hornets Hive studio and all is well with the Watford world, or is it? The chaps discuss....
Football is back, so is the pod, the chaps discuss and forget to reference the joy of watching a game at Loftus Road without a pole in the way/the 10 rows in front of you standing up so you can't see a thing.
Tuesday, Saturday, repeat, The Championship in all its glory. Two games, ten goals, six points and a game and a half of football to discuss.
Hopefully this pod isn't as underwhelming as that result was (excuse the lack of enthusiasm if it is). All aboard the 4-3-3 train as we look ahead to Stoke City on Weds
The only pod discussing Wycombe Wanderers vs Watford that won't mention Gareth Ainsworth's leather jacket (this blurb doesn't count). Enjoy....
Saturday night's alright for fighting Elton once said, perhaps not realising the Bournemouth encounter had to been moved to a 12:30 KO. The chaps discuss the raking studs, swinging elbows and a bit of football too.
Discussion on the toughest test of the season so far. On to Bournemouth we go...
A review of the Derby County game and the transfer window comings and goings - and just as importantly stayings - you say? oh go on then...
Paul and Gaz discuss the first defeat of the season and the closing of the international transfer window (more Penaranda chat I'm afraid...).
The chaps are back talking all things Luton Town, including the now non-existent rivalry and that 0-4 win back in 97/98.
New season, new division, new manager, new sporting director, new signings.....new positive outlook? Paul and Gaz discuss what may lay ahead as we near the start of the 20-21 Championship campaign...
So that's it. The Premier League adventure is over, the chaps discuss the Arsenal game and back to The Championship we go. At least Bournemouth are coming with us...
The chaps discuss the predictable Man City romp and try to fathom why you'd play an injured Deeney rather than saving him for Arsenal. Oh, and the Pearson sacking gets mentioned rather a lot too, and not in a good way....
The chaps try to pick apart what went wrong in the defeat to West Ham, and discuss why Gary Neville is spot on about Kiko.
The chaps remain cheery and optimistic despite Bournemouth's best attempt to spoil the weekend. Discussion of Troy's penalties, a second win in a week and what the plan might be for Mikel Antonio.
The chaps discuss a much needed win vs Norwich, look ahead to another crucial game vs Newcastle, and discuss what loan players might feature next season.
Paul and Gaz analyse the themes of our two defeats in four days and discuss if there's any hope for Chelsea away in six days time....
No nonsense review of the 1-1 draw with Leicester City, and a lookahead to our next fixture vs Burnley (yawn).
A review of our upcoming opponents, our thoughts on the likely Horns starting XI and our hopes that David Luiz is still an Arsenal player come game week 38.
The second Project Restart pod, the chaps discuss the depth in the Watford FC squad and injury possibilities as the season gets set to return for the final nine games
Paul and Gaz discuss Project Restart and what this means for Watford FC
When Watford sold Almen Abdi, Paul was distraught and Jonny wrote an ode to Almen. For those interested in words and humanity, Frank Skinner has just launched a Poetry Podcast: https://planetradio.co.uk/podcasts/frank-skinner-poetry-podcast/listen/2028768/
Tom Ward takes the mic and offers 12 questions...plus three more...plus a tiebreaker... Thanks for listening! Don't forget this week's bonus poem, a blast from the past.
APOLOGIES for the iffy audio... The famous five reconvene, this time with 12 questions from Gary Tucker. Also features the song We Remember Gabi Angella. Post your scores on Twitter @ronnyandramage #jft96
With Dan Fleming returning and Tom Ward debuting, Jonny tests the knowledge of four Watford fans with 12 questions to get Gaz and Paul thinking about their beloved club. Play along at home and enjoy the song which Gaz has written which asks: Surely we can't make football null and void? Happy Easter from all of us and stay safe in the absence of Watford FC being safe.
Watford draw a winnable game at Brighton, lose a drawable game at Old Trafford and...beat the European Cup winners while keeping a clean sheet. Gary Tucker joins Jonny Brick in another pod in the 'Let's Not Get Carried Away' series.
Two good goals scored, but three conceded, as Watford lose at home. Paul Tucker finds the good and dwells on the bad in a pod which comes after the release of Seb Proedl. Gaz is away, cooking up a Proedl salad (chickpeas, lemon, tuna, capers, spring onion).
Glossing over the FA Cup defeat, Paul and Gary recap the draw against Spurs and the defeat at Aston Villa, looking forward to the Everton game. They ask whether it's time to rotate penalty takers.
Gary and Paul are together again after many pods apart, and in no way get carried away with a comfortable win at Bournemouth.
Gary Tucker returns to the pod in person to express his joy at adding ten points to the tally since the last R&R. Let's not get carried away, though.. All the best to listeners as the new decade begins!
Paul Tucker and Jonny - plus questions from an absent Gary Tucker - wear brave faces in a sombre pod after two defeats and a sacked manager.
Paul Tucker and Jonny Brick meet up, without Gary, to celebrate an away win in Norwich, with the usual caveats and points of interest.
A League Cup defeat, two draws and a defeat are discussed in a Paul-less pod. Defence is the best form of gaining points, and there is precious little mention of VAR.
Paul Tucker is away so Gary Tucker tells Jonny Brick his feelings on Watford after two losses and a no-score draw. With Tottenham next, which of the recent three formations will make an appearance for a potential first league win? Get in touch if you share Gary's optimism on Twitter @ronnyandramage.
Paul and Gary don't get carried away just because Watford seized on two clownish defensive errors. Paul Street appears to offer the Arsenal viewpoint, while the Tuckers ponder whose position is under threat. Twitter @ronnyandramage to ask questions and make reasonable points.
Gary and Paul Tucker meet up to talk about recent events in a club that never sits still. Jonny Brick provides context and a musical flourish. New (old) manager, new (old, as per the End of Season reviews) format. Twitter.com/ronnyandramage for matchday reaction from Paul and Gaz
No need for panic (yet), as Gary Tucker gives his views (in Paul's absence) on the losses to Everton (0-1) and West Ham United (1-3) and the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United. He also took his two boys to Watford 3-0 Coventry City, which gets a brief mention amid talk of defending, depth and Doucoure. Congratulations to Matt on his wedding - we'll see you down the Bunker soon! Follow us on Twitter @ronnyandramage
