It's the final Total Saints Podcast of the season, and unfortunately, there is still only one place to start: the fallout from Southampton's failed Spygate appeal.Martin is joined by Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour and George Rees-Julian to look back on another extraordinary few days at Saints, following the dismissal of the club's appeal against the EFL sanctions and the publication of the Independent Disciplinary Commission's written reasons. The panel discuss the seriousness of the findings, the pressure placed on junior members of staff, the club's handling of the situation, the ongoing FA investigation and the deafening silence from those in positions of leadership. There is also a lengthy discussion about Tonda Eckert's future, whether there is any realistic way back for him, and what Southampton now need to do to begin repairing the damage done to supporters, players, staff, commercial partners and the wider reputation of the club.Attention then turns to the summer ahead. With Saints now preparing for another season in the Championship, the panel look at which players are likely to stay or go, the uncertainty around Daniel Peretz, Aaron Ramsdale and the goalkeeper position, the sellable assets in midfield, and the decisions facing the club over players such as James Bree and Ross Stewart. The team also reflect briefly on Hull City's play-off final win over Middlesbrough, the likely needle when Saints and Boro meet again next season, and what the result said about the play-offs Saints were removed from. There is also time for the final TSP admin of the season, including the Prediction League winners, the signed Atlanta Primus shirt giveaway, Patreon-exclusive merch updates, thanks to our sponsors Steam Town Brewery and Paul Castle Associates, and a farewell to George Rees-Julian as he makes his final TSP appearance before leaving The Echo. Welcome to Episode 379 of the Total Saints Podcast, your home for all things Southampton Football Club.Martin Starke is joined by Steve Grant, Glen de la Cour and Alfie House to look back on a dramatic few days for Saints, both on and off the pitch. This week, the panel begins with the story nobody expected to be discussing: Spygate. Middlesbrough accused Southampton of spying on a training session at their Rockliffe Park base, before the EFL confirmed that Saints had been charged with breaches of its regulations. The panel discuss what is currently known, how Saints may respond, whether the club are likely to contest the charge, and what kind of punishment could follow. Then it's on to the play-off semi-final itself, as Saints somehow left the Riverside with a 0-0 draw after a brutal first half against Middlesbrough. Boro dominated the opening 45 minutes, registering 17 shots while Saints failed to have one of their own, but Southampton stood firm thanks to some huge defensive moments from Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Nathan Wood, James Bree and Daniel Peretz. The second half brought a much-improved Saints performance, helped by the introduction of Ross Stewart and Shea Charles. The panel discuss why the first half went so badly, whether Flynn Downes' return helped or hindered the balance, the struggles of Caspar Jander and Finn Azaz, and whether Kim Hellberg's side may have already played their best football of the tie. There is also a look ahead to Tuesday night at St Mary's, where Saints will need one more big performance to keep the unbeaten league run going and book a place at Wembley. The panel give their score predictions and discuss the importance of the atmosphere, the coach arrival, and turning the fallout from the week into a proper siege mentality.Plus, there is a reminder for patrons in the Bobby Stokes, James Beattie, Francis Benali and Mick Channon tiers to complete the Patreon merch form by May 20th so the end-of-season exclusive merch packages can be prepared. We'll be back on Wednesday night at 7pm to react to the second leg. What a remarkable 24 hours! Boro's play-off clash against Southampton is now clouded in controversy after a Saints staff member was caught allegedly spying on training at Rockliffe. So what happens next? We reflect on developments and discuss potential punishments.
Middlesbrough's play-off semi-final first leg against Southampton at the Riverside is almost upon us. And ahead of the game, we speak to Alfie House, Southampton correspondent for the Daily Echo, to get the lowdown on Saints, Finn Azaz and the view from the south coast on the Boro clash.
On this week's show, The YP's Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall join host Mark Singleton to applaud Leeds United following a campaign which has seen them all but confirm their Premier League status for the 2026-27 season.Last week's 3-1 win at home to Burnley – combined with subsequent results elsewhere – left Daniel Farke's team seven points clear of the drop zone with three games to play. Leeds could be mathematically safe by the time they come to play relegation rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.Elsewhere, Middlesbrough will look to overcome their disappointment at missing out on automatic promotion from the Championship on the final day of the regular season when they take on Southampton in the play-offs this weekend.Hull City will join them in the post-season, their 2-1 win at home to Norwich City last Saturday proving enough to see them leapfrog Wrexham and into the top six at the final ask. It leaves them with a testing two-leg semi-final against Millwall. Are we wishing for too much with an all-Yorkshire final at Wembley?Bradford City are also gunning for the national stadium, but first will have to overcome League One rivals Bolton Wanderers in their play-off semi-final in order to book a day out in the capital. With Sheffield Wednesday condemned to League One for most of the season, Rotherham United long relegated to League Two, Harrogate Town became the third Yorkshire team to suffer the drop – dropping out of the EFL after seven seasons. The team assess their chances of getting back up from the National League at the first time of asking. And, on the final day of the season, with their new owner David Storch in attendance, Sheffield Wednesday found the perfect moment to record only their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory at home to West Bromwich Albion. Things can only get better. Finally for this week, Leon picks out his Player of the Week, while Stuart nominates his Team of the Week.
Highlights from the rest of the English Football League. Ipswich have gained promotion to the Premier League on the final day of the Championship. That leaves Millwall, Southampton, Boro and Hull City to battle it out in the playoffs. The O's survived Lg 1 but not without a public tongue lashing from their manager post match. Wolfie talks about the latest transfer rumours and who could be replacing Elliot Anderson! To Buy Wolfie A Coffee! Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv The transfer mill is spinning with news that Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney could be the man to fill the void if Elliot Anderson moves on this summer. Wolfie breaks down whether the Boro star is the true "heir" to the midfield throne and what this potential move means for Vítor Pereira's long-term vision at the City Ground. We analyze Hackney's fit in the current system and whether he provides the same creative spark we've come to expect in the middle of the park. Beyond the transfer talk, we look back at a historic week for the Reds, including that sensational 5-0 demolition of Sunderland on Wearside. While a massive 8 points clear of the drop, the "Grumpy" factor remains as rivals Spurs and West Ham picked up wins to keep the pressure on. Is Raf Simons finally back? Is Rick Owens still the GOAT? Did Jonathan Anderson fumble his AW27 Dior menswear show? Why does Dsquared2 keep putting giant furry hats on models—and why do we respect it?Sol and Michael break down 2026's Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week with their most unfiltered runway reviews yet. Which designers are cooking? Which creative directors are washed? Find out.RUNWAY REVIEWS:Prada FW26: High button holes, dirty French cuffs, and silhouettes echoing early Raf archive (Riot Riot Riot era). A genuine return to form—dressing cool young people, not runway theater.Rick Owens "TOWER": Military fashion without cosplay. Exaggerated shoulders replace traditional epaulets. Comparisons to Concordians, Porterville, Hollywood, Temple, and Lido—this might be his best of the past 5 years.Jonathan Anderson — Dior Men's AW27: Paul Poiret references and "heritage meets subversion" press notes that don't translate.Dsquared2 FW26: Dean and Dan Caten deliver giant furry hats, Olympic ski aesthetics, and jacked models with chiseled jawlines.Ralph Lauren FW26: Is Ralph pandering to the Aime Leon Dore and Bodé crowd? Vintage Polo Sport looks feel five years late to the Lower East Side menswear revival. But the tailoring buried later—velvet tuxedos, opera loafers, herringbone Chesterfields, cutaway collars—still hits.Balenciaga FW26 (Pierpaolo Piccioli): Post-Demna disappointment. Zara-coded varsity bombers, incoherent lookbook energy.Soshio Otsuki — Pitti Uomo 2026: The Japanese designer making YSL-inspired power suits for men. Double-breasted blazers for $600, Boro stitching collabs, jumpsuit-illusion suiting. Also discussed: Demna's Gucci debut, Louis Vuitton under Pharrell, London vs. New York street style, British tailoring culture, Rolling Dub Trio and Kozaburo boots, making a horse leather Birkin, and whether Dolce & Gabbana discourse is just an easy accountability checkbox.QUESTIONS ANSWERED:→ What did Raf Simons show at Prada FW26?→ Who is the best designer of 2026?→ Who is the new Dior menswear creative director? → Is Ralph Lauren copying Aime Leon Dore? → What happened to Balenciaga after Demna? → Who is Soshio Otsuki? → What is the high button hole trend? → What are the best Paris Fashion Week FW26 collections? → London vs. New York: Who dresses better?Sol Thompson and Michael Smith explore the world and subcultures of fashion, interviewing creators, personalities, and industry insiders to highlight the new vanguard of the fashion world.
