The Town made it 10 straight defeats on their travels when they went down 2-1 to QPR at Loftus Road on Monday evening. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look back on a night that offered something different but unfortunately the same result as previously. The lads begin the podcast by reflecting on the game, picking out the bad bits but also acknowledging the much improved parts of the Town performance as well. The attention then turns towards the growing speculation and rumours around the future of Rob Edwards. Are the rumours genuine? Is his departure imminent? The podcast then concludes with a brief look at the cup tie in Nottingham at the weekend where the chaps give a few options of what they would like to see from a starting XI perspective regardless of who picks the team. Kev is joined again by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to look ahead to what looks like an even more daunting assignment than it did prior to the poor run of away results for the Hatters. The lads begin by looking at our opponents for the game and who might have been the catalyst in their sudden upturn in form before bringing the attention back to the away side. Will this be the night that Town fans get to see new addition Lamine Fanne Dabo and if so how much of him would the chaps like to see of him?  Could there be another surprise return to the starting line-up too? Our Gav and Martin return to talk all about the win over Oxford and what the last three wins might mean for the club, look at our match tomorrow against QPR at Loftus Road and basically just... praise these lads. Endless praise aye. What's the crack? How good have we been since returning from the international break? We remain FIVE POINTS CLEAR at the top of the Championship and if we're not careful we might end up in a promotion race... WILSONNNN; He keeps scoring, he keeps smiling and Mayenda is returning but will the latter get a look in currently? JOBE; The better Bellingham just keeps getting better aye. How do we keep hold of him without promotion? Or Riggy for that matter? If at first you don't succeed, Trai, Trai again; Hume is finding his feet again and Patrick Roberts seems in a decent mood. RLB and injury; He's calm ahead of QPR and quite pleased with the Oxford result, but Reg has a few injury headaches and a lot more to prove in the division this season. Patto out? Aye it looks like it. Can Moore do a decent cover job until he returns? Looking at QPR away, trying not to get carried away and so much more! The club have also confirmed Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilon will not be part of the tour after being granted permission to “explore prospective transfer opportunities”. Gil made only two League starts last season, while Reguilon was loaned out to both Manchester United and Brentford. Fraser Forster will also remain at the club's training ground to work on his fitness after fracturing his foot last season. Pierr-Emile Hojbjerg, meanwhile, is in France to seal a move to Marseille. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by returning regular panellists in Jason McGovern, TJ Ramin and Marlon Via Spurs Kings as Yves Bissouma and Dane Scarlett were on target as Tottenham beat QPR in a pre-season friendly at Loftus Road. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou again named a reasonably strong side against the Championship outfit, with new arrivals Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall amongst the notable youngsters involved from the off. The hosts had look dangerous on the break with Spurs dominating most of the ball but fell victim to a moment of Premier League class from Bissouma five minutes before half-time. The midfielder beat his marker with a drop of the shoulder before playing a one-two with Dejan Kulusevski, picking the ball up on the return and rounding goalkeeper Paul Nardi to slot into an early net. A host of changes came after the break as QPR put on the pressure but Spurs ultimately held out before Scarlett tapped in a second with his first touch. The great Stan Bowles passed away on 24 February 2024, making QPR v West Brom a must for Alex. This was the first home game for the Rs since the death of the club's talismanic, legendary number 10, and Loftus Road was duly packed to the rafters. QPR went into the game on the back of a run of good form but, relegation-threatened as they are, in need of a win, while victory would help the Baggies in their promotion challenge. It was all to play for in W12 as Alex and guests (including pod guest Ricardo, Film London Josh, C-Block Simon and Jack from The Upshot) watched a belter. QPR 2 West Brom 2 – a special edition of FOTM in tribute to Stan the Man – was recorded at Loftus Road on 7 March 2024. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/footy-on-the-med/message

HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaI'm alright Jack; The p*** biscuit saw red at Loftus Road after trying to snap Jobe's leg in half, before our very own Jack Clarke fired in a beautifully timed equaliser. Funny.Well that was f***in delightful; how do the lads feel after that performance?Ainsworth; what the f*** was he wearing honestly? A lovely 20% possession for the shithouse is all he's got to show for his tactical genius. Again... funny.Goals for Dan Ballard and an assist for one of our new French lads as Abdoullah Ba finished the game off in style! Just class from so many today wasn't it?So as it stands we sit 7th in the EFL Championship with a couple nice wins under our belt; looking forward to Blackburn on Wednesday? The international break is over! Sunderland are back to league action against Gareth Ainsworth's QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday. Gav and Chris sit down to preview the trip, try to guess what changes Mogga may make (if any) and react to the official unveiling (finally) of our new Ukrainian forward Nazariy Rusyn. What's the crack? Slava Ukraini! Welcome Nazariy Lad! Are we feeling confident ahead of Saturday? Tony Mowbray is probably unlikely to make any significant changes from the side that started against Southampton last time out, but we do have a few strike options available now; Weird haka performances aside, how has Ainsworth been doing recently in his relatively new role? Are we expecting the same sort of tactics from one of the masters of lower league time wasting shithousery? It's just nice to have options isn't it; the new lads seem hungry from what we've seen and we could even get to the point where Mowbray has a selection headache thanks to our new strength in depth. How do we see this match playing out? Would a draw be enough or should we be looking to take maximum points from sides like QPR?All this and more! Ha'way the Lads!#SAFC #EFL #EFLChampionship Hosted on Acast.
