It was at the point that Crystal Palace announced their line-up at Fulham that James knew his luck was in. With Daniel Munoz absent from The Eagles squad with a knee injury, James was able to bank Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's 16 points and laugh about some brilliant bench jam. And it was just as well because it was a painful week otherwise! Luck or skill? You need a bit of both in this game. Suj joins James for a review of all the weekend games as Aston Villa beat Arsenal late, it was a late win for Palace too at Fulham and West Ham also lost a late lead at Brighton. There was late carnage to at Elland Road as Liverpool blew a comfortable lead, but it was events after the game and Mo Salah's interview that may prove even more damaging for The Reds. FPL managers now have 5 free transfers at their disposal and both Suj and James have gone early with one move, but will the other moves be made or can transfers be banked? Most is seems, will be making aggressive moves. But are there even 3 good forwards in the game!? Mark Chapman is joined by Jamie Redknapp, Clinton Morrison and Steve Sidwell as Marc Guehi's brilliant late header at Fulham sent Crystal Palace up to fourth in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over their London rivals. Salah Bombshell | Ashes Update | Villa stun Arsenal Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Jonathan Liew, Dan Kilpatrick and James Olley to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We begin with Mo Salah's explosive interview, in which he hints at a breakdown in his relationship with Arne Slot and suggests he feels unwanted at the club after being benched again.Next, we turn to the Ashes, where England have finally shown some fight — but the question remains: why has it taken so long? Jonathan believes it's a huge missed opportunity and compares England's approach to “Ange-ball.”We then turn to the WSL, where we're joined by Megan Feringa to ask what's gone wrong for Arsenal's Champions League winners. Megan believes the presence of so many high-profile players has led to an overreliance on individual brilliance rather than unity and a cohesive style of play.Next, we move on to the World Cup draw. While James criticises the politicisation of the event — highlighted by Donald Trump receiving a peace prize — we focus on England's fixtures and travel itinerary. We then look at Arsenal's defeat at Villa Park. James highlights the state of the squad, noting they used a sixth different centre-back pairing at the end of a gruelling run of fixtures. Are they starting to look vulnerable? Finally, it's a tale of two Manchester sides. Manchester City's dominant win over Sunderland has cut the title race gap to just two points, with Pep's men looking like they still have gears to spare in the new year. Meanwhile, after Manchester United dropped another two points at home to West Ham in midweek, you have to ask: are the lower European spots the best Amorim's team can realistically hope for this season?Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. The focus shifts to Liverpool's much-needed reset at West Ham, where selection choices, structure and pragmatism delivered a vital clean sheet. Hamzah explains the decision to rest Salah, why Szoboszlai moved wide, and how Joe Gomez returned despite ongoing knee injections. Si gives a detailed sports-science breakdown of Gomez's tendon issues, load management, and why the defender cannot play every match. The discussion moves into Liverpool's unusual gameplan, with a reduced press, compact shape and a deliberate attempt to limit long-ball chaos. Dan rounds things off with the match metrics, revealing how Liverpool controlled the game despite its strange rhythm. A smart, tactical deep dive into a win built on survival rather than style. The trio analyse Liverpool's standout individual performances in the West Ham victory, starting with the physical data that revealed a slow, low-intensity match. With less pressure on the ball, Florian Wirtz produced his most composed Premier League display, and the panel explore how touch maps, expected passing and xG build-up highlight his growing influence. Si and Hamzah explain why structure and tempo are key to unlocking Wirtz consistently. Attention then turns to Alexander Isak, whose first-half struggles contrasted sharply with a stunning match-winning finish. The group debate his fitness, movement, sharpness and his resemblance to classic penalty-box strikers like Fowler and Lineker. A sharp and honest look at two players who could define Liverpool's direction this season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Miles also tells the incredible story of how his childhood hero Roberto Baggio inspired one of his most emotional tracks — and how that song led him all the way to Baggio's house in Italy for one of the most surreal lunches of his life. There's backstage mayhem with Arctic Monkeys, broken ribs in five-a-side, fashion eras gone wrong, and a whole lot of love for the city of Liverpool. #941 | Ed and Adam break down United's 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace, a match that split neatly into two stories. The first half looked laboured. The second half looked like a team that finally woke up. They dig into what changed, who stepped up, and why the performance still raises as many questions as it answers. The conversation moves into the bigger picture too. Kyle Macaulay's impending arrival sparks a discussion about how United's recruitment department might finally take shape, what that means for squad building, and how data should guide the next phase. They also look ahead to West Ham, weighing possible lineups and the tradeoffs created by injuries, form, and fixture congestion. 00:00 Introduction01:17 Agenda: Palace, recruitment strategy, West Ham02:31 TV scheduling and matchday experience04:25 Palace vs United analysis06:48 Second half turnaround10:02 Casemiro, Bruno, Mount16:11 System limitations and squad balance19:44 Academy and youth pathways24:04 Zirkzee and Mount goals27:11 Mateta and the penalty shout35:31 Kyle Macaulay and recruitment45:08 West Ham preview and lineup ideas55:19 Rotation and January window56:56 Close If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing a weekly exclusive bonus episode, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts.
