David Forde is with us this week. For a bloke who has quit playing football countless times Forde managed to carve out a great career and cement himself as a Millwall legend. Forde has suffered with performance anxiety for large parts of his career and often found himself skipping training to travel to India to practice meditation to help him battle this and find a new form of focus. After getting a 2 week fine while playing in the Welsh league Forde was ready to quit football and move back to Ireland but in a very quick U-turn he got a move to West Ham and was training with his hero David James. In a career spanning across 20 years Forde has had his fair share of encounters with mavericks including Martin Allen, Di Canio & Stephen Bywater. While at Millwall he saw everything a Millwall legend would have; promotions, relegations, fights, smoking cigars at Wembley after winning in the play-offs and of course the elbow Jermaine Beckford. We look back on Ipswich Town's early Premier League years, focusing this week on fixtures at home to this weekend's opponents West Ham.
A much-needed win for the Reds in a match featuring three goals, sixteen minutes of stoppage time, a six minute VAR check and multiple tributes to Taiwo Awoniyi. Goals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Nikola Milenković earned the points, despite Jarrod Bowen's late consolation. It's tight at the top in the run for the Champions' League, with Forest in 7th, but only a point behind Newcastle in third. Eek. Presented by George Edwards, with Tom Newton (back from parental leave). The view from the opposition comes from Jamie of the We Are West Ham podcast. We'll be back with your Friday 5 news roundup at the end of the week, before the crunch match against Chelsea. COME ON YOU REDS! Max Hayes reviews Nottingham Forest's 2-1 win over West Ham at the weekend and takes your questions ahead of a huge final week in the Reds' season.
Kelly Cates presents Super Sunday from the Emirates and is joined by Jamie Redknapp, Les Ferdinand, and Paul Merson, who analyse Arsenal's 1-0 win against Newcastle, which sees them secure Champions League football for next season after a stunning second-half strike from Declan Rice. The win also means the Gunners are likely to finish runners-up again in the Premier League, and Merse says Arsenal must be serious contenders for the title by Christmas, otherwise he thinks the club will replace Mikel Arteta. The trio also discuss the earlier game on Super Sunday, which saw Nottingham Forest keep their hopes of playing Champions League football next campaign after their 2-1 win at West Ham. They then give their views on who they believe will finish in the top five, with Merse saying that he is worried about Manchester City's chances of making the cut. The Europa League final on Wednesday will see either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur also qualify for Europe's prestige club competition, and they give their predictions on who will be victorious in Bilbao.

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Ian Lubin, Patrick Tyrant, Marlon, Via Spurs Kings TV and Jim From Oh So Spurs as Tottenham's 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace on Sunday was the 20th of their Premier League season. The defeat saw Spurs drop to 17th with only the relegated trio of Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton below them with two games to go. They are on 38 points from 36 games - one behind their Europa League final opponents Manchester United and two behind West Ham, who climbed to 15th with a 2-0 win against the Ruben Amorim's side. Adding insult to injury, 20 defeats is the most Spurs have suffered during a single Premier League season in history and the last time they lost as many in the English top division was during the 1991-92 season. It was also their 24th defeat across all competitions and they have only lost more in a single season in 1991-92, when they recorded 25 defeats. Postecoglou's side have won just one of their past 10 league games but will hope to bounce back against Aston Villa on Friday before making the trip to Bilbao to face the Red Devils in the all-important European final. Clayton joins James this week on the Gameweek Review Podcast to discuss all the weekend's games, which included more misfiring premiums, but there were good returns to be had elsewhere and that included a haul for Ebe Eze against a hapless and rotated Tottenham. For Tottenham and Manchester United (who were beaten by West Ham) all focus is on the Europa League Final which is why Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer are likely to be so popular this week for Fantasy managers! Should they be under captaincy consideration? Plus, Arsenal pulled it back at Anfield where Trent Alexander-Arnold was booed, Newcastle beat 10 man Chelsea who saw Nicolas Jackson sent off, Villa, Brentford and Brighton picked up important wins, whilst Forest slipped up against Leicester and Southampton somehow held Manchester City and a returning Erling Haaland to claw themselves to 12 points. Fantasy targets for what remains covered, the pull of rolling for GW38, what will Palace and City do next week following the FA Cup Final, players to consider for those with a Free Hit left and lots more... #815 | This was once a proud club for whom finishing third was a disaster. Now each week brings a new defeat and a shrug of the shoulders. Defeat to West Ham is bad enough, but the thing about giving up on the league is that Ruben Amorim is losing credibility by the week. Everything - the whole season and a few years to come - is on the Europa League final but if United lose that the manager will have less than zero bank of credit available and once again the club will be in the situation of having to spend to back manager who we don't know will be here by November. Ed and Dan should be angrier.

Mason Mount had his best moment in his injury-hit United career so far and then twenty minutes later he had an even better one as Ruben Amorim's men recovered from a rocky start to, eventually, cruise into the Europa League final.Low on confidence and struggling to get out of their own third, it took a triple sub from the manager to liven up the performance, but the impact was almost instantaneous. Bookended by the two Mount goals, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund also scored, making it a remarkable 7-1 on aggregate against an accomplished Athletic Club.So it's another trip to Bilbao, this time to face Tottenham on May 21st; an opponent United haven't beaten since October 2022. Will it play out as a Premier League fixture might? We're not so sure. West Ham probably will on Sunday, though. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Host Richard Cracknell is joined by Spurs Stadium Singer Tim Winstone, George Achillea and Marlon Via Spurs Kings TV as West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur traded first-half goals and settled for a stodgy 1-1 draw on Sunday that will leave neither particularly thrilled or disappointed — at least it wasn't another loss. Spurs went ahead in the 15th minute after Max Kilman got himself into all kinds of trouble and lost the ball to Mathys Tel deep in his own half. Tel quickly played it across the penalty area and found Wilson Odobert, who settled and fired past Alphonse Areola for his first Premier League goal with the club. It was 1-0 until the 28th minute, as Jarrod Bowen raced in behind Spurs' defense and shot between Guglielmo Vicario's legs from near the end line to reach double-digit PL goals for the third time in four seasons. With the draw, Spurs (38 points) remain 16th in the PL table, still a point and a place above West Ham (37 points). Suffice to say, the (league) season can't end soon enough for either side. Spurs, of course, still cling to the hope of winning the Europa League. They lead Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt 3-1 after their semifinal home leg on Thursday.
