With huge results up and down the table, as well as a record broken in dramatic fashion, it felt like the biggest weekend in the Premier League season so far.Musa and Ryan chat about Arsenal's win over Everton, where Max Dowman came on, changed the game and became the Premier League's youngest ever goalscorer, in a late 2-0 win.It was made even more important due to West Ham and Manchester City's 1-1 draw, which was a huge result for Nuno Espírito Santo, but a costly one for Pep Guardiola. The same scoreline happened at Anfield, where Spurs equalised late against Liverpool, to stop their losing streak. There's chat about Michael Carrick's Manchester United, who bounced back with an impressive win over Aston Villa, before a quick bit on the week coming up for Arsenal and Manchester City. They then quickly head to Europe, for an Arda Güler wonder goal, a Barcelona win, some Serie A and a few more shoutouts.New merch has dropped! Only 12 goals scored from 9 games so far in Gameweek 30 which means clean sheet returns for some, but lots of blankers for others. And the big winners once again may well have been Bruno Fernandes captainers who once again banked a double digit return at Old Trafford. All the games reviewed as Arsenal left it late, but extended their lead over Manchester City who dropped points at a resolute West Ham, but The Hammers still dind themselves in the bottom three after all their rivals also drew. 10 man Leeds held on fairly comfortably at Palace, Richarlison scored late to earn Tottenham an unlikely point at an underwhelming Liverpool who benched both Mo Salah and Hugo Ekitike, but Nottingham Forest it may feel like a missed opportunity after they failed to score against Fulham. Plus, a reminder of what could happen with the postponed Manchester City v Crystal Palace fixture, one and two week transfers on mind and longer-term views on players also covered for those without a Wildcard. A third consecutive Premier League defeat. Eight league games left. And a set of questions about structure, recruitment and ambition that will not wait until the summer.Villa's 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford was not a shock. It was, as this podcast noted immediately, an expected result, an expected performance... and an expected xG. What makes it significant is the context and manner of it - three consecutive league defeats, a Champions League place that is now being held by inertia rather than form, and a set of structural problems that are becoming harder to attribute to bad luck.In this episode, the show dissects the latest misery inducing trip to Old Trafford, including the moment that may have defined Villa's entire season. Then the post-mortem episodes broadens out into the harder questions about what has gone wrong, whose responsibility it is to fix it, and whether there is still time. The structure versus creation argument reaches crunch time. It's Lille in the Europa League second leg next, but then relegation threatened West Ham and Forest back-to-back mean it's do or die time.UTVListen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.Become a MOMS Member for ad-free & extra shows - MOMS MembershipJoin the show's listener Facebook group The Mad Few.Credits:David Michael - @myoldmansaid | Chris Budd - @BUDD_music / Phillip Shaw - @prsgameThis Podcast has been created and uploaded by My Old Man Said. Just when you thought everything was getting back on track with a lovely 3-1 FA Cup win at Newcastle on Saturday, a 3-0 away defeat in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 against Real Madrid comes along to ruin your Wednesday. David Mooney is joined by City fans Andy MacNab and, from The City Ramble podcast, Joe Butterfield to discuss this week's shifting emotions. It's West Ham next in another Saturday evening game, as City get back to league action aiming to keep the pressure on leaders Arsenal. James Jones from We Are West Ham is on the show to give his thoughts ahead of that tie. Then can there be a salvage job as Real Madrid visit the Etihad for the second leg? Stranger things have happened, though maybe not many... On Saturday, Omar Marmoush scored his seventh goal for City against Newcastle. With 14 in a blue shirt in total, he enjoys playing against the Magpies... so we're looking at some other City players that always had a penchant for scoring against one opponent in particular. Plus, we've put the listeners on the case to lift the mood with some light-hearted end-of-the-show questions. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. James and Rocco are back after a break from the mic - and there's plenty to unpack. Leeds United have two back-to-back league defeats, Farke's red card and that brilliant press conference, Sunderland's masterclass in anti-football (50 minutes of actual play out of 106 allocated - the stats don't lie), the Ramadan booing controversy and the media's lazy take on it, plus that glorious FA Cup night against Norwich. Sean Longstaff, where did THAT volley come from? We look ahead to Crystal Palace away with Farke back on the touchline, the Brentford night game, and an FA Cup quarter-final trip to West Ham. Brentford's cup run came to a painful end after a penalty shoot-out defeat to West Ham.It was a night of frustration and what-might-have-been for the Bees, who battled hard but ultimately fell short from the spot.Billy ‘The Bee' Grant was outside chatting to the fans straight after the match to get their thoughts on the performance, the penalties, and the feeling after crashing out of the cup. As always, the supporters had plenty to say.
Welcome to the latest episode, Liverpool's winning run comes to an end at Wolves. Conceding another 90+ minute goal - feels yuk. The 5-2 over West Ham offered quite a different feeling. I'm Paul, joined by Daz and Justin.Part One - First half - slow and predictable said the captain. Slot was very upset, we are told.Play Frimpong and give him the ball before the final third too many timesFirst half - felt very safe - Wolves xG 0.0 - overall 0.44 for Wolves and 1.83 for us and 4 big chances.Second half better but still didn't create a lot. At least we got wide more. Great clearance from Cody…Salah as a wide player….Bad first goal to concedeThe pushing for a winner strategy has really hurt us this season:Chiesa chaosNo KonatePart Two - West Ham at home (xG 1.84 to 1.86)They are a difficult team - but our set pieces were outrageousNational narrative - ‘Liverpool didn't play very well' and now we make a note of the xGFirst half key moments:5 minutes - great composure from Ryan and Hugo. 25 minutes - VVD finds another header. What was VAR doing?43 - love a goal where the ball doesn't hit the groundGood moves in between - Cody finding RG and Hugo's big chanceSecond half - much closer:Soucek goal probably changes the sub plansAlisson makes a save at 4-2 that was importantFrimpong and Gakpo goals and Nyoni, Rio cameos were positivePart Three - Other business:Arsenal - breaking down what their anti-football entailsTime wastingCollapsing with contact while mugging opposition forwards in the boxThe Tottenham Hotspur train wreck comes to townGalatasaray starts next weekOur midfield - overplayed:And what has happened to Alexis Mac Allister? Why not Curtis Jones? We will be back after the Galatasaray away game. On this week's episode, Mike and Dan reflect on the 0-0 draw away at Bournemouth, analyse the run-in looking at form teams and remaining fixtures, and look ahead to West Ham away in the fifth round of the FA Cup. There was little to say about Brentford's trip to the Vitality Stadium, other than it was a point gained after the Cherries missed several chances to win the game. We chat about the injury to Rico Henry, what that means, and why we looked a bit leggy. We also look at the impending run-in from our perspective and from the eyes of those around us, as well as having a chat about West Ham's recent revival under Nuno Espirito Santo. Suj and James discuss all the key action from Gameweek 29's first 9 games, where bench points have been required by many FPL managers again, and it was a great night for Arsenal as they won at Brighton as Manchester City slipped up at home to Nottingham Forest, and there was a win for West Ham too which means it's very squeaky at the bottom. Chelsea were the only winners of those seeking a top 5 spot and Joao Pedro hauled big with a hat-trick and an assist in victory at an Aston Villa side that are currently struggling. All the key FPL fallout discussed with updates from midweek injuries, rotations, haulers and blankers. But with a clear message, there is much to learn before we get to Gameweek 30. Griffin Warner talks betting for Wednesday Griffin Warner's episode 19 of What I Bet, dated March 4, 2026, covered European soccer and a large Wednesday college basketball slate, ending with a best bet and a Pregame.com promo code. In England, he previewed Aston Villa versus Chelsea as a pick'em with Chelsea juiced and a 2.75 total shaded slightly to the over, saying Villa's defensive home profile makes them attractive when priced as an underdog and that he was waiting for a move to a quarter-goal dog before likely backing them. For Brighton versus Arsenal, he cited Brighton as three-quarter-goal home underdogs with Arsenal carrying the juice, and a 2.5 total priced heavily to the under, adding that he would need plus one to consider Brighton and that he generally leans under 2.5 in Arsenal matches. Fulham versus West Ham was listed with Fulham a half-goal favorite and the away side taking the juice, with a 2.75 total near even but slightly toward the under; he leaned West Ham and also leaned under while noting he would prefer a three. Manchester City versus Nottingham Forest had City as one-and-a-quarter goal favorites and a total of three heavily juiced to the under, and Warner raised concerns about Forest's managerial changes and a rest disadvantage after Europa League action. Newcastle versus Manchester United was described as essentially a pick'em that had moved toward United, with a total of three heavily juiced to the over; he questioned United as a road favorite at St. James' Park and said he was waiting for Newcastle to reach a quarter-goal underdog, expecting to play that and likely the pick'em as well. In Spain's Copa del Rey second leg, he noted Real Sociedad hosting Athletic Club Bilbao with a 1-0 aggregate edge, describing the two-leg format and listing Sociedad as quarter-goal favorites with a 2.25 total slightly to the over, while he found under 2.25 interesting. In Italy's Coppa Italia, he discussed Lazio as quarter-goal home underdogs to Atalanta in a first leg with a 2.25 total juiced heavily to the under, leaning to a conservative game state, Lazio plus a quarter, and the under, while also citing advance prices of Lazio plus 2.31 and Atalanta minus 3.15 to advance. In France's Coupe de France, he covered Lorient versus Nice and Marseille versus Toulouse, noting Toulouse interest if the line reached a full goal. He then ran through college basketball including Creighton at Butler, Minnesota at Indiana, Texas at Arkansas, Providence versus Marquette, Duquesne at Rhode Island, California at Georgia Tech, Ohio State at Penn State, Villanova at DePaul, Purdue at Northwestern, and Baylor at Houston, while repeatedly stressing the importance of checking venues for tournament games. He gave the promo code FREETHROW20 for 20% off at Pregame.com through March 8, and closed with his best bet: SMU minus one-and-a-half at home to Miami, Florida. Learn more about your ad choices. The East London district of West Ham might be best known globally for the football team of the same name, but in the late 19th century, the area became famous for something much darker. West Ham, and in particular, a single road within the district, became the scene for a series of unusual disappearances that took place over more than a decade, as young girls were vanished away from the streets, never to be seen again. At least until one was found dead and stuffed into a cupboard in an empty house.SOURCES Bondeson, Jan (2016) Rivals of The Ripper: Unsolved Murders of Women in Late Victorian London.
