Ebû Ya'lâ (r.âleyh)'in Ebû Hureyre (r.a.)'den rivayet ettiği hadis-i şerifte de şöyle buyuruluyor: “Bir kimse, yarım kelimeyle bile olsa bir mü'minin öldürülmesine yardım ederse, alnında “Allâh (c.c.)'un rahmetinden ümitsizdir” diye yazılı olduğu halde ölür.” Peygamberimiz (s.a.v.) şöyle buyuruyorlar: “İlim öğrenmek, kadın-erkek her müslümana farzdır. Lâyık olmayana ilim öğretmek, domuzun boynuna cevher, inci ve altın takmak gibidir.” (İbni Mâce) Bundan anlaşılıyor ki, ilmin değer ve kıymetini bilmeyen kimseye ilim öğretmek zulümdür.(İmâm Gazâlî (r.âleyh), Nasıl İyi Bir Kul Olunur?, s.41-42)Taxonomy

The boys are back on the juice! This week, Beans and Gaz put their palates (and livers) to the ultimate test as they wade into the weird and wonderful world of Celebrity Wines. But they're not going it alone! Joining the tasting panel for this grape-fueled gauntlet is Beans' own brother, Jon, who brings his unique brand of... wisdom to the table.Prepare for an unpretentious, hilarious, and potentially ill-informed journey through four bottles with some very famous faces on the labels. The lineup is as star-studded as a Hollywood afterparty:Dolly Parton's Rose: Will this wine be as sweet and charming as the Queen of Country herself? Expect a full analysis of the Jolene energy.Gordon Ramsay's Pinot Grigio: Will the famously fiery chef's white be a delicious triumph, or a bleeping raw disaster? Don't worry, there'll be plenty of amateur critiques.Miraval Studio Rose (Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie): From the vineyard that launched a thousand headlines, is this Provence Rose still a symbol of amour or just a relic of a legendary tête-à-tête? The boys sniff out the celebrity drama in every glass.Iron Maiden's Darkest Red: Can a band known for blood, sweat, and heavy metal successfully bottle up the perfect blend of rock 'n' roll? Get ready to raise your horns... and a glass of something heavy. Each wine will be rigorously Tall Boy Radio-style tested, scored out of ten based on taste, bouquet, label design, and general vibe, before the trio crown their Celebrity Wine Champion! Will a multi-millionaire chef beat a country music icon? Does a divorce-fueled rosé reign supreme? Or will the Dark Lord of Heavy Metal wine leave the rest in the dust? Tune in to find out which famous fermentation is worth your hard-earned cash!Grab a glass, settle in, and prepare for the most honest (and least sophisticated) wine review you'll ever hear!tallboyradio.com

On this week's Tall Boy Radio, hosts Gaz and Beans are honoured to welcome a titan of criminal investigation, Retired Lieutenant Commander Vernon Geberth, to delve deep into one of the most sprawling, intricate, and utterly frustrating cases he ever tackled. This is the unbelievable true story of "Operation Octopus," a fascinating chapter pulled directly from the pages of his essential book, The Godfather of Homicide.Get ready for a comprehensive breakdown of a case that began innocently enough but quickly metastasized into a terrifying, multi-layered criminal enterprise. We start at the supposed centre: a deadly, planned store robbery murder plot. Gaz and Beans press Vernon on how the immediate aftermath of that violent scene hinted at something much bigger, prompting his team to pull at a thread that quickly unravelled the tapestry of organised crime.Vernon shares the fascinating details of how that single planned robbery and murder exposed a massive operation involving the upper echelons of the Mafia. This wasn't just low-level thugs; this was a sophisticated ring dealing in multiple high-stakes crimes. Central to the investigation was a staggering amount of counterfeit money flooding the region—a clue that immediately brought the formidable resources of the Secret Service into the fray. Geberth details the critical, often tense, partnership with the federal agents tasked with tracing the origins and distribution of the funny money.Beyond the paper trail, the Octopus had its tentacles deep in drug trafficking. We explore the dangerous world of undercover operations Vernon's team had to execute, putting agents in genuine, life-threatening peril to infiltrate both the counterfeiting and narcotics distribution networks. Geberth gives listeners a rare look behind the scenes, discussing the immense logistical challenges of running parallel stings and the meticulous planning required to keep sources alive. But as with any great true-crime saga, the enemy wasn't just the Mob. Vernon pulls no punches when recounting the persistent, crippling interference from above. He details the specific challenges posed by incompetent supervisors and the internal bureaucracy that repeatedly threatened to pull the plug on the investigation. Hear the moments where the entire case hung by a thread, jeopardised not by a criminal act, but by incompetence from the guy that you report into. Gaz and Beans explore the mental toll this internal struggle took on the detectives trying to bring a major criminal operation down while simultaneously battling their own command structure.Operation Octopus is a gripping testament to relentless detective work, bureaucratic warfare, and the unwavering dedication required to dismantle a criminal empire. It's a classic Geberth case that proves the reality of homicide investigation is often far stranger, more frustrating, and more exhilarating than any fiction. Tune in for the full, detailed account of this epic saga.Buy Vernon's book hereTHE GODFATHER OF HOMICIDE: VERNON J. 285# The Dybbuk Box | Curse in a CabinetThis week Gaz and Taylor dive into one of the most fascinating oddities in modern paranormal culture: the Dybbuk Box. We'll track its journey from an Oregon estate sale, through a viral eBay listing by Kevin Mannis, into the hands of Jason Haxton — museum director turned legendary curator — and beyond into Hollywood, celebrity misfortune and museum folklore. We'll explore Haxton's experience, the strange contents of the box, the folklore of the dybbuk, and whether this story is haunted or just brilliantly told. Stay tuned for a roundup of bizarre news, including new slices of the myth and fringe science.
