In Week 1 of The Good Fight, Pastor Josh explained how our faith as young adults can be derailed due to poor experiences of relationships. If we want to fight the good fight of faith, we need to be aligned with God's design for love and purity. In seasons of singleness, dating, engagement, and marriage we experience these differently.
In Week 3 of our What It Takes series, Pastor Josh explains how Jesus tests our commitment to following Him. Ensuring we know both the cost and the importance. We cannot follow Jesus alone, but must do it in community. And our communities need to be stronger than the temptations of the world if we are to become more like Jesus.
In Week 2 of our What It Takes Series, Pastor Josh shares how we can practice subversive rhythms to better create communities of belonging. These rhythms are Meals, Silence & Solitude, and Service & Sacrifice.
In Week 1 of What It Takes, Pastor Josh unpacked how Jesus envisioned our community to be like family. Not loosely connected, but deeply devoted as brothers and sisters. To become family, it takes Forgiveness, Accountability, and Acceptance.
2019 was an amazing year for us at Sanctus Young Adults. We are so thankful for every one of you who invests in this community so we can see more young adults become fully devoted followers of Jesus! Can't wait for 2020 and what God is going to do.
In Part 7 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Pastor Josh shared about how Jesus is the rock we are supposed to build our lives on, not the sand of ourselves, others, religion, or the world.
In part 6 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Morgan looked at how Jesus calls us to be kingdom-minded in how we judge. Not to be overly critical or to be complacent in how we discern sin, and to most importantly ask God to give us a new vision into our own lives.
In Part 5 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Pastor Josh encouraged us to reflect on what prize we have set our eyes on. Treasures in heaven, or pleasures on this earth?
In part 4 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Pastor Ben looks at how Jesus starts the Lord's Prayer with "Our Father" and how this should encourage us to see prayer as a relationship more than a transaction. Shame is often a barrier to prayer, but Jesus has set us free from shame and we can come to God like a good father because of what Jesus did.
This leadership teaching from our Team Retreat Day encouraged and challenged us to step up to the call of a leader as Paul described to Timothy.
In Part 3 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Pastor Nathan explained how Jesus' call to love our enemies is a call to unlimited, unconditional love for all people that leads to a flourishing life.
In Part 2 of our Citizens & Strangers series, Pastor Josh showed how Jesus calls us as Christians to be Salt & Light in this world so people would see Jesus through us. Salt is what we are, Light is what we do. And we are both in order that people "might see our good works and glorify our father in heaven."
In Part 1 of our Citizens & Strangers series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Ben unpacks the Beatitudes, a description of what a follower of Jesus is and how this leads to human flourishing.
In this message, Pastors Josh & Ben unpack what it looks like to live lives on mission to see others encounter Jesus and to be led by the Holy Spirit in all things.
In Part 1 of our Becoming series on our values, Pastor Josh share how we are called to be Servant Leaders and Community Devoted as followers of Jesus.
In this teaching from our Launch Party on September 15th, Pastor Josh unpacked what it takes to be known for our love for each other. John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
