Sometimes, when you're dissociating effectively, and really "in the zone" of distraction? You can find ANY interruption to be an inconvenience. Even winning. I fear this is what has been happening to me when I lock into my phone too hard. Every interruption (even the good ones) feel like a shock to my system. Everything feels like a distraction. Learning why this happens has been really helpful in my ability to address the "infinite scroll loop" trap that I sometimes find myself in. "Who do I need to become to live a happy, healthy, fulfilling, and meaningful life?" That's what this powerful episode of the Balanced Warrior Podcast is all about. Finding your moral compass. Drawing from their work with business leaders in creating a "code of honor" for their organizations, Coaches Paul and Chris stress that this set of non-negotiable values is just as critical in our personal lives. Without one, we risk drifting, becoming distracted, and losing sight of the values that create peace, joy, and harmony. Having a moral compass helps us be better every day and create a pathway to not just financial success, but multi-dimensional success and internal character growth. Join Paul Melella and Chris Berlow, authors of the bestselling book You Have Infinite Power for a discussion about your moral compass. Key Discussion Points The Necessity of a Moral Compass: Most people are chasing external success (money, status) but fail to define who they need to be to live a meaningful life. Defining a "Code of Honor": A code of honor is a set of non-negotiable values and principles a person or team commits to living by both professionally and personally. The Il Il Shin Philosophy…Be Better Ever Day: The discussion ties your moral compass to their mentor's principle, Il Il Shin (be better every day), which emphasizes small daily improvements in areas like respect, patience, love, and discipline. Internal vs. External Success: True, lasting success operates on the "Be, Do, Have" principle, starting with internal character development before external achievements. The Danger of Distraction and Low Awareness: External circumstances and social media can easily pull people from their center, emphasizing the need for discipline to focus on one's values and main priorities.

Amanda Cupido doesn't speak Spanish or French. But using AI, she and her team helped a global nonprofit make their internal podcast more accessible to as many employees as possible. Amanda is an audio producer and the founder of a production company called Lead Podcasting. One of her clients is a global nonprofit with over 35,000 employees—and not all of them speak English. So she made them a pitch: what if they added AI into the mix? They would make the podcast in English, and then use generative AI voice tools to translate it into Spanish and French—with a lot of human oversight, of course. Driven by a desire to use these tools for good, the goal was never to replace people, but to reach more people, and it worked. On this episode, Amanda shows what it's like—and what it sounds like—to make a podcast with AI that's still human at its core. You can learn more about Lead Podcasting at leadpodcasting.com~ ~ ~Working Smarter is brought to you by Dropbox Dash—the AI universal search and knowledge management tool from Dropbox. The Americans had a variety of motives. The surface reasons usually discussed in popular history and podcasts seem a little crazy, not fitting in with te reality of the early 19th century very well. But there is a deeper reason, fighting a second war of Independence to avoid a world were Britain makes all the decisions. We explore this aspect of the origins with regard to the context provided by the Dutch in 1780 and the Danes in 1801.And then the preparations for the war were dismally poor. The invasions of Canada were unbelievably badly planned. For modern people this will be a difficult idea to accept, but we will go through it.

Ryan wrestles with a piercing question sparked by Charlie Kirk's testimony: Are we actually called to purity—or is purity the assumed condition of a life on mission for Christ? Drawing from Kirk's own words about victory over pornography and Psalm 97:10, Ryan reframes purity not as an end in itself but as the necessary overflow of loving Jesus and pursuing His calling with focus.Topics DiscussedPurity vs. purpose: which is the calling and which is the conditionLessons from Charlie Kirk's testimony and focusThe danger of letting the “fight for purity” become a lifelong distractionPractical safeguards (accountability, tech tools) in their proper placePsalm 97:10 and hating evil as an expression of loving GodMoving from abstinence-mindset to satisfaction in ChristSimultaneously growing in purity while stepping into God's missionKey TakeawaysPurity is not the destination; it's the runway for a Spirit-led life on mission.A life that can “comfortably accommodate” impurity is misaligned with calling.Tools and accountability help, but transformation flows from loving Christ first.Get on mission now; don't postpone obedience until you feel “fully pure.”As love for Christ increases, purity increases—because there's more of you reserved for Him.Resources & LinksCharlie Kirk's original interview: ListenCovenant Eyes — accountability software for purityReady to download the Cord App? Welcome back to another episode of The Above the Business Podcast with Bradley Hamner. Today, we're revisiting a conversation that continues to resonate with entrepreneurs and business leaders everywhere—the impact of neurodiversity, specifically ADHD, on business owners.Bradley sits down with Dr. Ned Hallowell, a New York Times bestselling author who has written over 20 books on psychological topics. Dr. Hallowell's groundbreaking Distraction series, which began with Driven to Distraction (co-authored with Dr. John Ratey in 1994), sparked a revolution in how we understand ADHD—and that conversation remains just as relevant today. The Hidden Signs You Might Be MissingIn this episode, Bradley and Dr. Hallowell dive into the telltale signs that often go unrecognized: unexplained underperformance despite your best efforts, constant "if only" thoughts that keep you stuck in regret cycles, and an inability to stay focused on work you find too simple or routine. If these experiences sound all too familiar, Dr. Hallowell recommends pursuing a medical diagnosis—not as a label, but as a pathway to understanding and optimization. The Elusive "State of Flow"One of the most powerful concepts they explore is the "state of flow"—those magical moments and hours when you're firing on all cylinders and deeply productive. For many adults with ADHD, accessing this state feels frustratingly out of reach, leaving them unable to achieve goals they know they're capable of reaching. The Strengths Within the DifferenceBut here's the good news that remains as true now as ever: ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity don't need to hinder your goals. Dr. Hallowell's mission is to educate and celebrate these differences, highlighting the unique strengths they can provide. By breaking down barriers of stigma and misunderstanding, he shows how all of us benefit from the cognitive diversity in our teams and communities.Whether you're an entrepreneur struggling to understand your own brain, or a leader looking to better support neurodivergent team members, this conversation offers insights that can transform how you work and lead.Learn more about Dr. Hallowell and his work at https://drhallowell.com/This episode of The Above the Business Podcast continues to offer timeless wisdom for business owners navigating the intersection of neurodiversity and entrepreneurship. Thanks to our sponsors...BlueprintOS equips business owners to design and install an operating system that runs like clockwork. When James Carville said "It's the economy, stupid", he helped usher in Bill Clinton (and neo-liberalism) and crushed the republican brand for a decade or more forcing them to change tactics. In 2025, I propose we focus on corruption and abuses of power...of which there are literally hundreds of examples. The regime is dripping with self-dealing and underhandedness, not to mention the public middle finger they constantly flaunt at our rule of law. From Kimmel and Comey to ICE raids and being anti-anti-fascist (there's an easier way to say that), to the obvious coverup of the content in Epstein files, the cracks are starting to show.Let's give it a shove, shall we?Love,-T

What if the key to thriving isn't managing your circumstances perfectly—but rooting yourself in the connections that matter most? In this heartfelt conversation, Michael and Megan talk with Elizabeth Oldfield, author of Fully Alive, about reclaiming depth, community, and soul-level steadiness in a culture addicted to speed and distraction. Elizabeth draws on ancient wisdom, modern insight, and her own experience living in intentional community to offer a hopeful path forward.Memorable Quotes“You need to put your roots down deep into love and work out how to find some steadiness.”“When we are honest about our full humanity, we give other people permission to do that, and that's a necessary starting point for actually growing up our souls rather than pretending that we all know what we're doing and we're holding it all together.”“Where we put our attention is essentially who we become.”“I have this sense that fully aliveness is in connection, deep connection, horizontally and vertically.”“Hurrying and destruction are not how we flourish, and we're constantly being encouraged to do those things. So we need to provide some counter pressure towards slowness and steadiness and presence.”Key TakeawaysConnection Is the Core of Flourishing. Relationships—messy, costly, inconvenient—are where we become more fully human.Attention Shapes Who You Become. Distraction isn't just a nuisance; it's a soul-shaping force. Guard your focus.Structure Time Around Your Values. A “rule of life” puts what matters most in place first, so the rest fits around it.Commitment Fuels Depth. When someone says they are distracted, they are expressing an agenda or expectation for where attention should be. They are essentially saying “I'd like attention to be on this project or on my breath or on the person in front of me, but it's somewhere else”.What would it be like to simply watch attention shift The post EP372: Distraction appeared first on Dr. Amy Johnson.

There are more expressions of the goodness, mercy, and power of God than expressions of evil in the earth today. Let's determine to focus on the Lord, especially in the face of tragedy and suffering. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson addresses the loss of Charlie Kirk, a bold Christian, political activist, and the co-founder of Turning Point USA. Pastor Allen shares biblical advice on dealing with death and building an awareness of the Holy Spirit. We have been called to be overcomers, and like the apostles Peter and John in Acts, chapter 4, we can have the courage to fight these spiritual battles when we rely on the Holy Spirit for strength. Our Lord still does miracles, and He has the wisdom and authority to transform expressions of Satan's evil into glory for His everlasting Kingdom.
Welcome to another episode of Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. In this episode, Tom and his co-host Drew jump straight into the thick of current societal and political tensions ripping through America—from digital manipulation and global disinformation, to the divisive battles over identity, gender, and violence. Drawing from recent news cycles and online controversies, Tom and Drew dig into how global powers exploit social media to stoke division, and challenge their audience to ground themselves against the rising tide of emotion-driven narratives dominating discourse today. Together, they dissect the psychology and biology behind polarization, fulfillment, and violent tendencies, weaving insights from neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, and history. They also address why anger is such a motivating force—and such a dangerous one when unchecked—while mapping the intersections of male identity, cultural radicalization, gender roles, and the persistent confusion of contemporary masculinity. Part 1 promises a candid, unflinching look at how our minds, biology, and society collide, and why understanding our “biological experience” is essential to navigating the chaos of the modern world. The assassination of Charlie Kirk has unleashed a storm of grief, anger, and confusion, but the greatest danger in this moment isn't just what happened, it's how we respond. Conspiracy thinking is already flooding the movement, pulling people into speculation, false accusations, and division that play right into the enemy's hands. If we let ourselves get distracted, we'll miss the real battle which is rooting out the dark networks funding chaos and stepping into the prophetic assignment God has given us for America's future.
