In this podcast we will talk about everything you aren't supposed to talk about. Jesus said, “Walk in the light,” not, “sweep everything under the rug and pretend like it isn’t there.” We will talk about gender, sexuality, homosexuality, sex, masturbation
Were The Three Wise Men into Astrology? Is there truth to Astrology? Is Astrology bad? Tune in as I ask these questions and look to the Bible for the answers.
8 weeks ago I went to Mexico and got sleeved or what's known as VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy). In this episode I give an update on my progress after weight-loss surgery! I talk about things that I've learned and I share my ups and downs as I work toward my goals. This is absolutely spiritual warfare and God is training me to fight through to each new level!
Sometimes purpose can be offensive and when it's unfulfilled it can even be oppressive. It's like a haunting. Jonah experiences this when God called him to warn an enemy. This purpose followed Jonah onto that ship going in the opposite direction and it followed him to the depths of the ocean and into the belly of the whale. Many of us have experienced a ‘sinking-ship' or ‘belly-of-the-whale' moment in life. In this episode Author, Ashley Zertuche, joins me in a conversation about what to do when we find ourselves in these moments. Ashley tells her testimony of how unreconciled racial wounds in the church caused her to run from her purpose, into depression and, with God's help, into a season of healing, realignment and restoration. You do not want to miss this one!
Who's raising your kids? Are our kids in danger in the public schools of today? What are our options? Is homeschooling right for you? Is private school possible with any budget? Join me as I talk about my observations and explore some of these questions. Our kids are worth fighting for. And they need us now more than ever. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. - Acts 20:28
I did it! I'm still recovering but I'm doing great! As of today I am just over 1 week post-op. Join me as a talk a little bit about my experience having weight-loss surgery in Tijuana Mexico and my recovery thus far!
Join me in a conversation with a friend about her journey through Covid and her thoughts about the vaccine, mandates, masks and more. We also talk about my upcoming adventure in Mexico where I will be getting VSG surgery for weight-loss as a huge step in my recovery from food addiction. The very day I call for help, the tide of battle turns. My enemies flee! This one thing I know: God is for me! Psalm 56:9
Gluttony is a sneaky little sin that will destroy your life and cause you to tear yourself apart if you allow it to. Many people develop food addiction as a means to cope with other addictions that are seemingly more destructive than gluttony. Gluttony is, at the very least, more socially accepted. But it can devastate your body, destroy your relationships and even take from your children if you choose to keep this sin as a pet. It's been my pet for a while and I'm tired of throwing diets at it. In this episode you will learn about what my battle plan is and what the Bible says about this particular method. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 1 Corinthians 9:26
In this episode Chandler City Councilwoman, Christine Ellis, joins me in a conversation about big-voting issues, brotherly love and a call to unity in the face of disparity. Christine is a representative of the people in Chandler Arizona, an ambassador of Christ and a consolidating voice of reason in this political climate of conflict and division. Join us as we touch on politics, community and the power of the love of God. How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity! Psalm 133:9
Then Jesus said to them, "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." Mark 12:17 In this verse Jesus was being asked if the Jewish people should pay taxes to Caesar. Jesus said that they should obey the laws of the land with the exception of one thing. Our bodies. The coin Jesus held up as an example had the image of Caesar engraved in it and because it bore the image of Caesar Jesus commanded that God's people give Caesar what he asked for. What belongs to him. But we were created in the image of God. We belong to God. Seek His will above mans and He will take care of you. He will guide you. He will give you peace about how you choose to take care of His temple. We do all things as unto the Lord. We work with our hands and our hearts and the government cannot, should not and will not tell us what to do with our bodies or who we should be doing it for.
In this episode my good friend, Marilynn Groenow, joins me in a conversation about being single and leading in the church. Strong families make strong churches, strong marriages make strong families and strong single people make strong marriages. When the single people in the church return, when they draw near to God and begin to walk in the authority and anointing that God has called them to walk in then the church will thrive on a new level of wholeness and fruitfulness.
***This is part two of my testimony.*** In this episode I get real about my past in hopes that it might help someone navigate their future. Sex was a struggle for me during that season of my life and I found myself accepting the mindset that I should stay out of ministry until I was married. There are a lot of single people missing from the church and I think that they should come back. I think that the church is broken without them.
In this episode Pastor Susan Keator joins me in a conversation about the struggles of motherhood and the influence of feminism on the nuclear family. "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth." 3 John 1:4
Is being gay self-identifying or genetically imbedded? In this episode I go into my theories on the nature-or-nurture question about homosexuality. I also talk about the importance of identity and the strategy of the enemy to sabotage it with counterfeit virtues and attributes. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. Romans 6:6
This episode is a conversation between friends about our struggle with gluttony. Sondra Byrd, who has recently hit the 75-pound weight-loss mark, joins me in this discussion. We get real about the severe consequences that gluttony has, the sugarcoat that the Church often puts on it and the hope that we have for change.
My only credentials on the matter are my own experiences. This one trick helped me to face many points of trauma in my past and move forward with my life. "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." Matthew 10:16
Have you ever been offended by sexist things in the Bible? Are you confused about how God sees women? Or maybe you just don't know how to answer people when they bring these things up in an attempt to turn you away from God and His word. If you are any of these people THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU! Join me and my special guest, Pastor Stephanie McDonald, as we go to these difficult places in the Bible armed with the knowledge of God's love and favor on us, as His beloved daughters.
In this episode I talk about my thoughts on masturbation and pornography, what the Bible says about it and some of the effects it can have on individuals. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"-- but not everything is good for you. And even though "I am allowed to do anything,"--I must. not become a slave to anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12
Gay? God loves you. And so do I. The strategy of the enemy is always aimed at our identity because we are created in the image of God and that is truly who we are. In this episode I interview one of the most incredible Pastors I know, Pastor Bethanie Witmer of CFTN Chandler. Together, we navigate through this broad topic and fight through the reverb of my studio-in-the-making to establish a foundation for this conversation that will demand many more episodes to come.
If shame stays in the darkness it will destroy your identity in Christ. In this episode I talk about Biblical parallels as well as personal ones that testify to this truth. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
