(TSX:GMIN; OTCQX:GMINF) is executing a three-asset growth strategy anchored by cash flow from its Tocantinzinho (TZ) gold mine in Brazil, construction of the Oko West project in Guyana, and renewed exploration at Brazil's Gurupi project. CEO Louis-Pierre Gignac says TZ's stronger second half will help fund the company's next phase of expansion.TZ produced 68,691 ounces in the first half of 2026, leaving the bulk of annual output to the second half against guidance of 160,000 to 190,000 ounces. Higher grades and improved throughput are expected as mining reaches richer zones, while an expansion of tailings-pumping capacity should support 2027 guidance of 200,000 to 235,000 ounces. Revised 2026 all-in sustaining cost guidance is $1,330 to $1,544 per ounce, reflecting a stronger Brazilian real and higher fuel prices.Oko West is the company's principal construction project. By June 30, 44% of capital expenditure had been spent, with $423 million incurred, $628 million committed and first gold targeted in the second half of 2027. Commercial production is planned for January 2028. Duas semanas depois da invasão da Polônia, o presidente da Associação Geral pediu aos ministros adventistas que não se aventurassem a prever o curso dos acontecimentos nem tentassem definir o desfecho. Naquela hora grave, disse ele, as palavras deveriam ser poucas, ponderadas e bem escolhidas. Em novembro do mesmo ano ele assinou um artigo inteiro sobre isso na Ministry, o órgão da Associação Ministerial. A chamada impressa acima do título: fuja da tentação de prognosticar aquilo que não foi revelado. Escute o que isso significa numa denominação cuja identidade central é a leitura profética da história, que nasceu de um cálculo de datas, e que uma geração antes — na Primeira Guerra — realizara conferências públicas com títulos como "O Diabo, o Kaiser e a Besta de Dois Chifres". O presidente disse ao movimento profético para não profetizar. Esta aula sustenta que esse foi o ato de governo mais importante de um mandato de catorze anos, o terceiro mais longo da história adventista. Não é ausência de liderança. É a forma mais difícil de liderança que existe numa organização religiosa: impedir que a instituição faça aquilo que ela mais gosta de fazer e faz com mais facilidade. E o cálculo de risco é brutalmente assimétrico — se ele estivesse errado, seria acusado para sempre de ter silenciado a voz profética na hora exata; estando certo, ninguém jamais lhe daria crédito, porque o benefício de uma predição não feita é invisível. E o editorial da mesma edição de 1939 explica por quê, por escrito: é injusto, em terras de liberdade, pôr em risco as liberdades e talvez a vida de crentes e obreiros em outras terras insistindo no direito de pregar como antes sobre certos aspectos da profecia. Quatro anos depois, em 1943, a Igreja Adventista seria dissolvida por decreto no Japão — em larga medida por causa da persistência em pregar o breve retorno de Cristo. A biografia corrigida: o serviço nas Filipinas terminou em retirada, não em fundação — a esposa adoeceu e o casal partiu sem ter organizado nada. Quem fundou foram Caldwell, em 1905, e Finster, cuja pregação resultou na primeira igreja do país em 11 de março de 1911. Dos três, a historiografia devocional lembra justamente o que não fundou nada ali, porque foi o que virou presidente. E a arquitetura: onze vice-presidentes simultâneos em 1944, com o ex-presidente Watson entre eles — o quarto caso consecutivo em que a estrutura reposicionou um líder deslocado em vez de perdê-lo. Mais a decisão racial de 1944, a mais delicada da história administrativa adventista norte-americana, com o Concílio de Fort Worth de 1936, o caso Lucy Byard e as objeções dos próprios líderes negros preservadas em ata. Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that teens have taken up the “tradwife” mantle and have begun building their personal brands and influencer content by adulterating the sanctity of marriage. Over the past month, there has been a whirlwind of commentary surrounding the teen tradwife trend – teens who’ve opted to get married early and share on social media how much they love marriage, submitting to their husbands, and not working. It’s obvious that teens absorb and assimiliate to much of the viral content they see on social media. Now, teens and young adults are creating content around traditional marriage values in order to be seen, gain followers, and go viral. In today’s episode, Kelly explains the tradwife trend and the real motivation for capturing pieces of your marriage and posting them as content for public consumption. Kelly argues that the motivation is nothing more than performance aimed at gaining attention. Examining the most popular TikTok video (the video that “broke” the internet), it’s easy to see how this content can deceive young girls into thinking this is what marriage is (and not liking the social media portrayal) or to jump into a romanticized version of marriage because the influencers make it look so blissful. Either way, it’s not biblical. Kelly ends with emphasizing the biblical definition of marriage and calls women to step into teen girls’ lives, ask questions, and help shape a biblical understanding of the institution of marriage. "In analytic training, and actually through my own analysis, is really where it happened. I think I just got more of a sense that whatever was going on with my students and the parents of my students was maybe not about me. It might not be all up to me, and something about that really freed me up to do better work. Another way I'll describe what you're talking about is that I had an adult violin student several years ago, and she wanted me to explain everything. And I said, "Well, I can. Do you want to learn how the violin is played, or do you want to learn how to actually play the violin?" Those are two very different things to me. I feel like what happened in the course of my analytic training, in the course of my own analysis, is I learned how to play the violin. The pre-stuff to that was about how analysis is done, but I actually learned how to do it and how to be it by going through it. Episode Description: We begin Ed's musical journey with his describing the importance of his musical family and community on his interest in learning to play an instrument. When watching his older sister play piano, he discovered the feeling of I want to do that. He pursued violin playing and studied with Shin'ichi Suzuki in Japan. He then returned to the States and in an effort to better appreciate his young students' experiences, he immersed himself in the world of developmental psychology and earned an MSW. Later he would pursue analytic training at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. This training enabled him to actually become an analytic clinician rather than learning about analysis. We discuss how his clinical work influenced his work as a music instructor, helping him consider "who I become to the student in the lesson." He shares with us the many mentors who have inspired and educated him in his two careers. It was when observing senior colleagues' nuanced analytic ways of thinking that he discovered anew his experience of I want to do that. True Crime is the most popular form of entertainment right now. When the parent advocacy group Schools Beyond Screens sent out a survey to local parents regarding their thoughts on the ways PPS utilizes educational technology and screens in classrooms, parents issued remarks that too many videos were used in classrooms, and video games and screens were being used as rewards. There were also concerns about the use of “learning apps,” and many parents called for more paper-based learning. Some raised concerns that classroom technology usage didn't align with the rules surrounding tech in their homes. The organization took this feedback, what they learned from the district and their own experiences as parents to create a draft revised tech and AI policy for Portland Public Schools. We’ll hear from Miranda Rake and Holly Hofkamp, two of the co-founders of the Portland chapter of Schools Beyond Screens, about what the draft policy entails.
Parents are repeatedly told in culture that their work is exhausting, difficult, and inequitable. Technology then comes along, offering ways parents can automate the difficult parts of parenting to reduce their mental labor. Lost in all of this is the necessary friction that helps children develop competencies, routines, resilience, and purpose. In this podcast, Kelly takes a look into a newly released tech tool that promises children “less help from grown-ups.” By examining their marketing ploy alongside Scripture, she offers clarity for how parenting and childhood are meant to be. Parents must challenge the common narrative that parenting should be easy and that task completion equates to childhood development. An automated childhood is a lost childhood. Where This Comes From My approach comes from two places most coaches never set foot in. The farm. I grew up as a farmhand in Ithaca, Nebraska—population 100. I started working at nine years old. By the time I left for college, I'd spent a decade learning that you can't cheat the harvest, pain is part of the job, and the work has to get done whether you feel like it or not. I was fourteen the first time I had to castrate boars. Nobody was going to do it for me. That lesson never left: sometimes you have to do things afraid. The forensic psychology unit. In graduate school at Washington State University, I trained under Dr. Thomas Brigham—co-author of the Handbook of Applied Behavior Analysis—in a human behavior lab focused on real-world problems.
