We can't believe it but we cover the last chapters of the book this week! It has been such a journey to get here and we're so excited for what's in store next. As we mentioned this is our last planned pod for 2022. You can tell by our brain shortages/technical difficulties/audio cuts that we just need a bit of a break as we head into the busy season. We hope you enjoy this episode, and we truly truly can't wait to see you in the new year. ✌ Note: There is a brief audio malfunction in the middle of the recording - Kris' software quit and we had to switch to a different recording platform. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support
This week we are officially video podcasters! So while we are still available on all the podcast platforms you can now find us on YouTube. Our episode this week covers most of our favorite movie quotes and why we use them so dangggg much in our regular lives. As a note, Kris talks for a few minutes about her friend Jenn's full moon yoga and why you should go, however it was last weekend! The life of recording a week ahead - anyway you should definitely go to them next year!
After what we're calling the three week hiatus, we are freaking back! It felt so good to just tangent and be back that we didn't even talk about a chapter. Catch up with Kris & Taylar as we try a new platform, new equipment, and catch you up on the craziness that is that last three weeks. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support
She doesn't even go here!! (#meangirlsreferencesforlife) There is no limit on how many mental health days, mom days, I need to damn day to chill days that we give ourselves. When we need to take a pause we will take a pause, unfortunately for you, that means another week without the inept mother. HOWEVER, know that nothing (that we know of) is going to get in the way of our regularly scheduled programming for next week. So we'll see you then for our usual tangents and momhood. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support

In an unexpected but delightful turn of events, this week's episode combines two chapters! As we started talking we realized they just went better together. Not surprisingly, an Eminem lyric is included, as is a Shakespeare quote. Most importantly though, we talk about loving ourselves - just as we are. ❤️ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support
This week's round-up: what flavor of Doritos are best, how our friendships have evolved since childhood, making mom friends in our 30s, and so.many.tangents. Not to mention - our first ever special guest! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support

Well - bring your tissues. In this week's episode, we get raw and real about losing a parent. We recommend listening to this one in a place, or spot, where you're comfortable shedding a few (or many) tears. Trigger Warning: Death of a parent. This episode is heavier than the rest of the ones we've done so far, so we'd like to just note that if you think this topic may be hard for you to digest, please skip this one. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support
This week we chat about why our kids don't listen until our heads turn around in circles, the delicious evil that is sugar, and why we all really just need a nap and hugs.
Here at The Inept Mother - we've made a rule - when we feel that we need to be more present or just want to be more present for our family - we're taking the time! No questions asked. No guilt. So while Kris visited her family in South Carolina last week - we didn't record. And THATS okay
This week we talk about getting our kids to listen and why we need to resort to bribery. Let's be honest, how many of us use Target as a bribe (
Join us this week as we talk about why no one told us THIS SHIT WAS SO HARD, potential girl bands, leaving your crying child at daycare, and the fact that it's OKAY to feel like you're not a great mom - even though you know you are one. We also chat about what our dream kid-free afternoon would look like (spoiler alert it includes coffee and self-care). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inept-mother/support
Join us this week as we briefly tangent on scary movies and start the dive into the first chapter of Kris's book. A lot less random then last week, but still just as meaningful.
