Susanna Fogel is a director, screenwriter, and novelist best known for her work in BOOKSMART and THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME. David Iserson is a filmmaker, writer, and producer best known for his work on MR. ROBOT, MAD MEN, and NEW GIRL. Iserson, alongside Fogel, served as co-creators, writers, and executive producers for the television series PONIES, a 70s-set spy thriller starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson. The series follows two PONIES ("persons of no interest") working anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy until their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives. Together, they work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows in the first place. In this interview, we talk about the professional marriage between Susanna Fogel and David Iserson, the development history and production origins of their series PONIES, research and working with consultants, plus much more. Marc Wilson is an OSU and OU alumnus, Veteran, and Comanche Little Pony Member, Wilson retired at the end of 2022. He moved back to Oklahoma, from Salt Lake City with his wife (Darla), to re-engage with their families, serve their community, church, and tribal organizations, and feed their passion for Gourd Dancing. Wilson's participation in Indian cultural activities began in the childhood in the early 1970's with the help and guidance of tribal elders, family members, and friends. Graduating from OU with a BA in Aero-Sciences Engineering in 1985 Wilson headed into the United States Air Force where he served until pivoting to civilian life where he became a sales engineer serving his organization for over 33 years in a variety of capacities in various regions of the United States and overseas in 17 different countries; working in the semiconductor, refining, mid-stream, and power generation industries. But according to drummer Rikki Rockett, the plans fell apart at the negotiating table.The sticking point? Money. Rockett revealed that while he, guitarist C.C. DeVille, and bassist Bobby Dall were all ready to sign, Michaels demanded a much bigger slice of the pie. Specifically, Rockett claims Michaels wanted about 600% more than the rest of the band—essentially $6 for every $1 the others would make."You just can't work that way," Rockett said. He explained that while he loves playing, he doesn't want to work hard just to make someone else rich while he gets a fraction of the pay.Is there bad blood? Surprisingly, Rockett says no. He compared the situation to family, saying, "It's like hating your parents." He insists he isn't fighting with Michaels, they just couldn't agree on the business side of things.When asked if the band would consider touring with a replacement singer, Rockett shut it down, calling that a "last resort" and insisting there is no better frontman for Poison than Michaels.What now? For now, everyone is doing their own thing.
