One year ago, the Shomari Slade Podcast launched. It has been a journey, and on this podcast, we review the first year, sharing favorite moments accomplishments while discussing music and sports. In this episode, we are joined by guest host EJ Alexander! We share Superbowl picks, lessons from 2021, and future topics the podcast will discuss next year. 

The Shomari Slade Podcast continues Season 2 with special guest Prophet Ricky Holloway. The title of this podcast is "Purity in the Prophetic." This podcast will drop on all streaming platforms on Friday at 7 pm.  Prophet Ricky is a prolific author, minister, teacher, and musician. He is a weapon on the earth and needed for this generation. Prophet Ricky is the author of three books entitled "School of Prayer: Prayology: Semester 1, School of Prayer: Prayology: Semester 2, and An Apostolic House: The House That Jesus Built.  According to Revelation 19:10, it states "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Although Social Media has made attempts to downplay its importance, prophecy is still essential. Join us as we discuss the necessity of purity in the prophetic.

The Shomari Slade Podcast continues Season 2 with special guest Prophet D'relle Merchant. The title of this podcast is "The Benefits of Sonship." This podcast will help bring clarity, information, and a life-changing conversation. Join us on all streaming platforms on Thursday at 7 pm for this conversation.  Prophet D'Relle Merchant is a prolific teacher and preacher, but more importantly, he is needed for this generation. The Shomari Slade Podcast is ecstatic to have him on the podcast.

The Shomari Slade Podcast continues in Season 2 with Pastor Austin Smith. Pastor Austin is a the founder of "Reveal Church" and stops by the podcast to discuss True Holiness. 

Deliverance from Hood Culture. There are some good things from the Hood Culture. However, when I started higher education, getting into the marketplace, and my career I had to renew my mind in the Word of God. Some of the laws of the heart, mindsets, and confrontation style had come from the hood subconsciously. I had to change my conflict management style, conflict resolution style into healthy & solution-based confrontation. This was a struggle for me because I used to toxic confrontation. I ended up letting everything slide which became another problem. Finding balance and direction in Christ was a true journey for me. Renewing my mind and getting deliverance from some things I learned from the culture became a daily assignment. Romans 12:2 states Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Renewing your mind even means the mindsets, habits, and ways the hood taught you.

In this episode, we discuss the dangers of escapism and the false sense of security it offers. Escapism is usually discussed with drugs and alcohol which is wrong. However,  escapism also can be found through ministry, servanthood, friendships, marriage, parenthood, and even social interaction. In addition, we talk about how soul wounds, traumatic experiences, and lack of personality development can lead to escapism.  The true cure to escapism can only be found through sonship through Christ and active discipline on impure motives that are presented through our actions. In this episode, Shomari and Elijah reflect on their journey at North Carolina A&T State University. They discuss the journey led to North Carolina A&T State University, their favorite moments, graduation day, and the difficult lessons they had to learn on the way. In addition, they discuss their encounters with individuals who try to project their feelings of inferiority on them because they were continuing their education. Between the parties, Elijah threw as a host and the work-life of Shomari, the two discuss key moments on the journey. Lastly, how important HBCU's are for black culture, the benefits of going to NC A&T, and what their HBCU represents outside of GHOE. 

Public Humiliation is a terrible reality. It is a difficult journey to endure and it can be difficult to recover. However, Elijah bounces back from the situation and in life. Check out Elijah McClure's story on the Shomari Slade Podcast. Elijah discusses being jumped in high school and the long-lasting health effects that impact him to this day.
