Squatters. They can be difficult to get rid of. We've seen how only a few small concessions in the law, or in the justice system, can cause big problems with illegal tenants. It's the stuff of nightmares: Someone moves into your house and refuses to leave. The nightmares are worse when a human being is the dwelling place, and the trespassers are demons. Today we'll look at Mark, chapter 5 for Part 2 of, Faith, Not Fear. Have you ever felt like God is sleeping while your boat is sinking? The Disciples' literal boat was actually filling with water, and God the Son was literally asleep in the back. But they didn't know His full identity yet, or they might have let Him slumber on. Does God know about my situation? Is He really with me? Does He care? Why doesn't He do something? The challenge to us is to override our natural fear response, and believe. Today we're a fly on the wall - watching Christ in His "unguarded moments." When we began this study of the Gospel of Mark, I promised that we would see the real, historical, Jesus. Well, because of Mark's association with Peter, we can learn not just what the Lord said and did in public, but what He revealed to the Twelve in private. In this episode we'll complete that list of Jesus' public demonstrations of authority, then we'll follow Him where the crowds could not go. Do these “what ifs” keep you up at night? Fear can control our minds and shrink our lives. But God speaks this promise over you: “...God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” He faced these exact fears that we face—sin, death, separation from God—and He overcame them on the cross. Because He rose from the dead, we can trust that fear does not have to rule our lives. Walking with Jesus doesn't mean you'll never feel afraid; it means that fear doesn't get to be the boss. If you're ready to trade fear for His peace, pray: “Jesus, You know my worries. Thank You for dying and rising again for me. Fill me with Your Spirit—with power, with Your love, and Your truth. Teach my heart to trust You. Amen.” Always remember, there is hope with God. Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 1:7 radio.hopewithgod.com

Separation... isolation... estrangement. They're all part of the old kingdom! When the new King arrived, we found out quickly that He was not like other kings. Not like the fraudulent puppet Herod, certainly. Not like any monarch the world had ever seen. In the kingdom of Jesus, barriers between men and women, between Jews and Gentiles, and even between clean and unclean, would come down. Here's Jim, back in the Gospel of Mark. Do you ever feel like you're just wandering around with Jesus? The evangelist Mark puts us in the huddle with the Disciples. We see what they saw, and hear what they heard. It wasn't a life of unstructured "hanging out" with the Lord for three-and-a-half years. There was a lesson plan. There was a progression to their training, even though the "hands-on" learning started pretty early in the course! Even the Master was on a timetable. There's a structure to our training, as well. This powerful message invites us into a season of divine separation—not isolation, but intentional positioning for breakthrough. Drawing from John 15, we're reminded that God is the faithful farmer who prunes every fruitful branch so it can yield an even greater harvest. While pruning can feel painful and look ugly in the moment, it's never punishment—it's positioning. God isn't cutting away to harm us; He's removing what threatens our calling, our relationships, our future. Whether it's toxic mindsets, unhealthy relationships, or patterns that keep us stuck, this is the year to let God separate us from what's holding us back. The beauty of this process is that God never asks us to clean up before we come to Him—He loves us exactly as we are. But His love is so powerful that it transforms us from the inside out. As we spend time in His presence during these 21 days of prayer and fasting, we're not just giving up food or social media—we're telling our flesh that we're the boss, not it. We're making room for God to reveal the incredible plans He has for us, plans that our eyes haven't seen and our ears haven't heard. This separation accelerates us into our destiny because when we get close to God, everything in our life accelerates. What if it's the Kingdom of God versus your kingdom? In the opening pages of the Gospel of Mark we see a Messiah who just couldn't care less about people's expectations. He was on a mission. It was more effective to demonstrate what the Kingdom of God is, than to deconstruct their false imaginings. The effect was divisive. Some people were being set free from the devil's kingdom; others were strengthening their allegiance to him. We're in Mark, chapter 1 with Jim. "Jesus is Lord!" Oh, yeah? This young rabbi from the "sticks" didn't build gravitas gradually, over the course of a 40-year ministry; He burst onto the scene as the Boss. What is the "Good News?" Yesterday we opened Mark's Gospel to learn about the real Jesus. But what's the meaning of that word "gospel" that we throw around? What exactly were the glad tidings that John the Baptist had come to announce? If we answer that it's the message of a Savior, of reconciliation with God, of eternal life, we're right... but there's even more to the Good News than that! Pastor Jim will walk us through some of the major headlines in that news, in Part 2 of this message. The search for the "real" Jesus! A few years ago a popular author wrote a book about Christ without any reference to the Gospels! He used "historical" sources only, he said. But there's no reason to believe that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not historical records - accurate historical records. They've been validated many times, over thousands of years. Today we'll begin a series in the Gospel of Mark. And in those pages, we will see the real Jesus. Pastor Andy teaches about how true prosperity begins with the restoration of the soul. God desires that we prosper in all things and be in health, even as our soul prospers, because the condition of our soul directly impacts every area of life. The soul, which consists of the mind, will, and emotions, must be restored and aligned with God's Word for us to experience the abundant life Christ promised. When we renew our minds through Scripture, surrender our will to God's purposes, and allow the Holy Spirit to heal our emotions, we position ourselves to walk in complete wholeness and receive all that God has prepared for us. Comparison is the silent killer of joy. It steals your confidence, shifts your focus, and leaves you spiritually drained. In this episode, we dive into 1 Samuel 18 to look at the lives of Saul and David. David's victory over Goliath should have been a moment of national unity, but instead, it exposed the dangerous power of comparison in King Saul's heart.Join us as we explore how to break free from the "sideways energy" of jealousy and find true confidence in your identity in Christ.Key Takeaways:Comparison Strangles Your Joy: Saul had every reason to celebrate, but he let a song of praise for David turn into personal insecurity. When we look sideways at what others have, we forget the goodness God has already given us.Comparison Stunts Your Growth: Jealousy is like "cancer in the bones" (Proverbs 14:30). It keeps you from being mentored by or mentoring others because you view everyone as a threat rather than a partner in God's kingdom.Comparison Steals Your Focus: You cannot follow Jesus effectively while watching someone else's calling. What you stare at is what you steer toward—if you stare at others' success, you'll steer toward envy.Episode Highlights:[00:00] The Celebration That Turned Into Jealousy David's victory was celebrated by the nation, but Saul fixated on the lyrics: "Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands!" (1 Samuel 18:7). Saul heard a threat where he should have heard a victory for God.[04:30] The Modern Comparison Trap Social media has made comparison effortless. We discuss how "scrolling" affects our spiritual health and why Psalm 34:10 is the antidote: "Those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing."[09:15] Sideways Energy Saul spent more time watching David than ruling his kingdom. We look at Jesus' words to Peter in John 21:22: "What is that to you? As for you, follow me."[15:45] From Competition to Confidence The Gospel replaces insecurity with identity. Like the Apostle John, we can move from chasing status to resting in the love of the Father (1 John 3:1).Scripture References:1 Samuel 18:7-12 – Saul's jealousy of David.Psalm 34:10 – Lacking no good thing in the Lord.Proverbs 14:30 – The physical and spiritual toll of jealousy.John 21:22 – Jesus' command to focus on our own walk.1 John 3:1 – Our identity as children of God.Mentions & Resources:Learn more about David's life and biblical leadership at pursueGOD.org.Start a Conversation: Use this episode to talk with a friend or small group. That snake is still lying to us about what is good. We've been studying the goodness of God, but we'll never understand it if we take the devil's definition of "good." Have you ever wished you could start over—wipe the slate clean as freshly fallen snow? Today, God is offering you this chance. The Bible promises, “...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone and new life has begun!” He's offering you forgiveness right now. What does it look like to begin again with Him? It means turning from the old path that you've been on—the behaviors and ways of living that you know deep down are hurting your own heart, and those around you—and trusting Jesus day by day—talking to Him, listening to His voice, letting His Spirit guide you and take over your life. If your heart is saying “yes,” then pray with me: “Jesus, I need Your mercy. Thank You for dying for my sins. Make me new today, and help me to follow You.” Always remember, there is hope with God. Led by Lee and Jaclyn Arnold, we teach the Bible in a way that transforms your heart and equips you to live out God's truth every day.In today's message:“Is Setting New Year's Goals, Biblical?”As we approach a new year, we explore what Scripture really says about planning, goal setting, and purpose. From Genesis to the New Testament, the Bible reveals that God is not against planning—He is against prideful, self-directed planning. Biblical goal setting is stewardship under surrender.Through the lives of Joseph, Moses, Nehemiah, Jesus, Paul, and James, we see that God calls His people to plan wisely, work diligently, delegate humbly, and trust Him completely with the outcome. This message reveals key truths:God is a planner by nature, and we are made in His image.Planning is biblical when it is submitted to the Lord.Prayer and planning are meant to work together.Delegation prevents burnout and multiplies impact.God establishes our steps, even when He redirects our plans. The reminder for us today:“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9“If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.” — James 4:15As we step into 2026, we are encouraged not to chase worldly resolutions, but to seek first the Kingdom of God—writing our plans in pencil, holding them with open hands, and trusting the Lord to lead every step.If God is calling you to plan, grow, and move forward—do so in humility, obedience, and faith. When Jesus leads the plan, our goals don't just change us—they advance the Kingdom.Stay connected and grow with us:• Sunday Sermons – Live on Zoom + Facebook• Wednesday Bible Study – Interactive discussions to go deeper• Daily Dose of Boldness – Devotionals to strengthen your walk with GodBe Bold for Jesus Conference 2026An unforgettable weekend to ignite your faith and equip you to live boldly for Christ.

We can't go back to that night in Bethlehem. Can we? The divine incursion into our world is history; it's past. We can re-enact it, but we can't actually see it happen again. Or can we? Each time a man or woman (or boy or girl) is born again, isn't that a divine incursion? Isn't that a "Bethlehem event" that we can observe? Here's Jim to conclude his message, The Witness. It was the eternity before Christmas.... That baby in the manger - you know the one - what was His name? Careful: Luke tells us He was officially named at 8 days old, at His circumcision. So what was He called that first week of His human life? Could we use John's name for Him before the world began: "The Word?" The Apostle takes us back to the beginning, and then back a little further. There's some kind of big holiday coming up, but what are we celebrating? It often feels like the world has almost completely hollowed-out Christmas. All the tinsel and lights and food and music are still there, the package is brightly wrapped - but there's nothing inside. Of course Jesus is The Reason for the Season. And His followers are rejoicing about the Incarnation. But who exactly is this Being who has come to us... and who will come again? How are you holding up? With only a few days to go until the Big One, are you exhausted yet? Stressed out? Depressed? Anxious? Frustrated? Or peaceful? If we could see things from Heaven's perspective - and that's what we're instructed to do in Colossians 3 - we would find pretty much the opposite of what the world's offering. And we would feel that "heavenly peace" that we sing about. Here's Jim with the rest of his sermon, The Mystery: Christ in You. The Christmas season has a way of filling our homes with warmth and wonder—but what if your holiday décor could do more than make your home look festive? What if it could become a beautiful, daily reminder of the Gospel for your family—and especially for your girl? In this special Christmas message, American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay invites listeners to rediscover the meaning behind the decorations we often unpack without a second thought. Instead of centering December around tinsel, lights, and checklists, this conversation encourages you to fill your home with symbols that point your daughter to the Savior who came near.  Through thoughtful reflection and practical ideas, this episode explores how your family can create a holiday environment that disciples your girl right where she lives. Whether it's a nativity set placed intentionally, Scripture woven into ornaments, or simple traditions that direct your girl's heart toward Jesus, you'll find fresh inspiration to transform your décor into a teaching tool—one that speaks quietly but consistently of hope, promise, and God's redeeming love.  As the busyness of December pulls our attention in a thousand directions, this episode gently reminds parents to anchor their home in truth that outlasts the season. When your daughter looks around the room, what does she see? May she see more than glitter and garland—may she see a family committed to celebrating Christ Himself. With encouragement that blends creativity, Scripture, and practicality, you'll walk away with ideas your family can use immediately and a deeper sense of purpose for the atmosphere you cultivate.  Scripture References:  Luke 2:10–11: The joyful announcement of Christ's birth.  Deuteronomy 6:6–7: Impressing God's truths on the hearts of our children.  Isaiah 9:6: The prophecy pointing to the coming Messiah.  Three Things to Remember:  Your décor can be more than beautiful—it can be a discipleship tool.  Small, meaningful symbols can gently shape your daughter's understanding of Jesus.  A Christ-centered home environment helps your girl see the season through the lens of truth, not culture.  Visit raisinggodlygirls.com for more encouragement and faith-based parenting tools.    Learn how to find or start an American Heritage Girls Troop in your community at americanheritagegirls.org.

It's not about Christ in the manger; the objective is Christ in you! For all those who think they can fit God into their puny, broken minds, or neatly graph His eternal plan in their seminar, we have Colossians, chapter 1. Today we'll look at God's baby picture. It's a paradox, isn't it? The uncreated God had no beginning, but He gave Himself a human beginning. And that's what we celebrate at Christmas. Jesus is "the image of the invisible God," a kind of living photograph to bring the Transcendent One down into the realm of our senses.
