Donald Trump no ejecutó este lunes su amenaza de decretar nuevos aranceles a las exportaciones colombianas pero tampoco la ha retirado. Además, el día terminó con un encuentro entre el presidente Gustavo Petro y John McNamara, embajador interino estadounidense, lo que marca un respiro en la crisis entre Colombia y Estados Unidos, un día después de su fuerte choque con Donald Trump. Recordemos que el despliegue estadounidense en aguas del caribe ha matado ya 30 personas que Washington considera pertenecen a carteles de droga venezolanos y a la guerrilla colombiana del Ejército de Liberación Nacional. Petro sin embargo ha denunciado que estas operaciones no se produjeron en aguas internacionales, sino en aguas colombianas, violando así la soberanía del país. La maraña de insultos cruzados entre Donald Trump y Gustavo Petro apenas deja entrever los estrechos lazos que aún mantienen Estados Unidos y Colombia en materia de comercio, migración y seguridad. Las operaciones militares desplegadas por Trump en el Caribe son contrarias al derecho internacional, pero eso no parece un problema para el presidente estadounidense.  “Sin duda, se trataría de una violación al derecho internacional. Sería un irrespeto a la soberanía territorial colombiana, porque eso sería mar territorial colombiano, si efectivamente el gobierno colombiano logra probar que tuvo lugar esa incursión“, explica a RFI Sandra Borda, politóloga y profesora de Ciencias Políticas en la Universidad de los Andes en Colombia.  “No sería la primera violación al derecho internacional desde el despliegue de la flotilla en el Caribe Internacional por parte de Estados Unidos, porque lo que ha estado cometiendo Estados Unidos con los tripulantes de estas lanchas que en teoría están transportando droga, son ejecuciones extrajudiciales que también están prohibidas por el derecho internacional humanitario”, añade.  De acuerdo con su análisis, estas operaciones responden a una estrategia de Trump para involucrar a varios gobiernos de América Latina con el tráfico de drogas, lo que le sirve de excusa para llevarlas a cabo sin la aprobación del Congreso estadounidense. Primero lo hizo con el presidente venezolano Nicolás Maduro y ahora sin escrúpulos, ha calificado a Petro de líder narcotraficante acusándolo de fomentar los cultivos ilegales.  “Es un mecanismo de disuasión. Es un mecanismo de retaliación fuertísimo que está destinado a mostrar el músculo de Estados Unidos en la región. A retornar a las épocas en las que había un tutelaje claro de Estados Unidos sobre los países latinoamericanos y a dejar en claro cuáles son las consecuencias si no hay sumisión frente a eso”, asegura la especialista.  Donald Trump amenaza a Petro con suspender la ayuda financiera a Colombia, el país latinoamericano que más fondos recibe de Estados Unidos, más de 740 millones de dólares en 2023, de los cuales la mitad se destinan a la lucha antidrogas. Frente a esto, Gustavo Petro ha elevado el tono comparando a Trump con Hitler e incitando a darle un golpe de Estado.  “Petro ya no tiene nada que perder electoralmente hablando y está en proceso de gestar su liderazgo internacional justamente oponiéndose a Trump. Y el problema que tenemos es que a este paso, el daño que le pueden causar a la relación binacional puede ser un daño irreparable”, advierte Borda. A falta de diplomacia, las relaciones entre Colombia y Estados Unidos están en la cuerda floja y la alianza entre ambos países irreconocible.

Al lado del Padre de la Patria Carlos Manuel de Céspedes en el marco de la toma de Bayamo —que fue la primera victoria del Ejército Libertador— Perucho, sentado en la montura de su caballo, al escuchar entonar su marcha instrumentada por el maestro Manuel Muñoz Cedeño, escribió la letra del Himno de Bayamo, que el pueblo cantó jubiloso al pasar de mano en mano la hoja escrita. El 12 de agosto de 1870, el Mayor General Perucho Figueredo murió fusilado en Santiago de Cuba, cantando La Bayamesa, el Himno Nacional Cubano, con la frente erguida. Esta es la versión de La Bayamesa que publicó el prócer José Martí el 25 de junio de 1892 en su periódico Patria, que armonizó el musicógrafo Emilio Agramonte por encargo de Martí, y que fue revisada en 1898 por el compositor Antonio Rodríguez Ferrer,1 tal como se canta actualmente: Al combate corred, bayameses, que la patria os contempla orgullosa. No temáis una muerte gloriosa, que morir por la patria es vivir. En cadenas vivir es vivir en afrenta y oprobio sumido. Del clarín escuchad el sonido. ¡A las armas, valientes, corred! El apóstol Pablo, consciente de las batallas que se libran por la libertad física, que es temporal, le instó a su discípulo Timoteo a que peleara la buena batalla de la fe e hiciera suya la vida eterna.2 Es que San Pablo sabía que esa es la única manera de obtener la libertad espiritual, que dura para siempre. Y Timoteo probablemente ya sabía que el requisito de aquel apóstol para pelear esa «buena batalla de la fe» era ponerse la armadura de Dios, que consiste no sólo en el escudo de la fe, sino también en el cinturón de la verdad, la coraza de justicia, el calzado dispuesto para anunciar la buena noticia de la paz, el casco de la salvación y la espada del Espíritu Santo, que es la palabra de Dios.3 De ahí que yo mismo como hijo de esta patria, consciente de que tenemos a nuestra disposición esas armas espirituales que pueden librarnos de las cadenas del pecado,4 interprete también la segunda estrofa de nuestro Himno de Bayamo como un llamado urgente a pelear sin tregua esa buena batalla espiritual: En cadenas vivir es vivir en afrenta y oprobio sumido.
