We're going to see King David's faithfulness to God's plans and purposes. There's a very important term that we're going to come across, and normally it is translated, The Lord's anointed. Now the Lord's anointed in the most simplest expression has to do with the king, and we know that at this time, even though, in one sense, he's illegitimate, and I'm talking about King Saul, we also know that David is someone who is always faithful. Because of David's faithfulness to God's plan for his life. What is David experiencing? He is experiencing persecution, and hear this carefully, persecution from the government. And this is something that we need to be prepared for, as well as believers, because whenever we walk in obedience, whenever we are committed to faithfulness, according to the truth of Scripture, we will suffer. Remember what Messiah said. https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

Join the Land of Israel Fellowship and study Tanach with us live from the hills of Judea: https://thelandofisrael.com/membership-tiers In 1 Samuel 10, Saul is secretly anointed as Israel's first king. Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel explore Saul's transformation, his unexpected rise to leadership, and the inner struggles that foreshadow his downfall. Why was Saul chosen? What does it mean to be "transformed into another man"? And why does he hide when the moment comes to accept his destiny? This chapter reveals the tension between divine calling and human hesitation—a struggle familiar to all of us.

Today in the passage of scripture that we're going to study, we are going to witness truly a tragedy. Why? Because of the behavior and actions of King Saul. Now we have seen that Saul has no regard for the Word of God. He is obsessed and committed to one thing, and that is what He desires. And what is that he wants to remain king over Israel, and he's not willing to have anything change that desire, that that passionate thing that he wants to hold on to in pride and also, and this is the key in disobedience. https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

Bitter soul. Now we're talking about those who were in distress, they would be unhappy, those who were indebted, meaning indebted to King David, and those who had a bitter soul. All of this, even though we're talking about three different groups of people, they all had something in common. And what was that they were not pleased with how their life was going. They wanted a change. And when we look at the situation, they probably were blaming one individual. And who was that? The king? It's the king's empire.https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

We have seen that King David is on the run. He knows that Shaul who is the king of Israel, but not the legitimate one, because we know that God has rejected Shaul and has anointed David to be the legitimate king, but Saul is rebelling against God, and he wants to put David to death. And what does David do? Well, the Bible says that he flees to a specific location. And where is that? https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

In a general sense, we should be truthful people. That means that most of the time, we should always be honest and we should tell things exactly as they are. But there is one biblical exception, and what is that? Well, in order to understand this properly, we need to look at a Hebrew phrase, and that phrase is pekuah nefesh. https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org
Well, we have seen that what has figured in significantly in this last part of chapter 20 of First Samuel is what's known as the new moon. Now that is a new month in Judaism, and the word for month is the word Chodesh, which is derived from the word for new. But here's something important. When we look at that word new in the Bible, it can also have the concept of change, and we're going to see that there's a change within this passage. To donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org
