Welcome to Episode 40, the season finale, of the This Was an Assignment Podcast! This was a tough episode for me! I am very sad about having to put the show on hold for a while. It is going to be very hard for me, because this has been a great way for me to get a lot of creativity out, to get things off my chest, to make new friends and build connections, and many many other things. This has been a great experience for me and I have enjoyed every single episode. This, though, is my least favorite episode...Now I understand why people finish recording with me and say “I’m not sure if you got anything good out of that”. Lol. I loved chatting with Mayan, but I did not like receiving the questions, I like to send the questions. Thank you all for the support with the show, and for listening, and for all you have done to be a part of it. I really really appreciate it. It means more to me than you’ll ever know. I hope you enjoy this episode, and I hope you have enjoyed the first season of the This Was an Assignment Podcast. Welcome to Episode 39.5 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast! BONUS EPISODEEE!!!! I couldn’t resist the opportunity to do another episode before our season finale. This one is with two very heavy hitters: Mike Draper, and Wyatt Woodard. Both are huge inspirations to me and people I have looked up to for a really long time. I love them both and I am thankful they were able to join me on this week’s episode. Mike was able to shed some light on the election and give us some insight on a theory he has about the age of politics and what might help in the future. Wyatt broke down a lot about basic training, and language school, and what I should expect with the next chapter of my life. I hope you enjoy this bonus episode! Welcome to Episode 39 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast! This is part two of the episode with Keon Aarabi. We had Keon on at the beginning of the year to teach us about the CoronaVirus. Ironically enough, since then, he’s had the virus, gotten a scholarship to study the antibodies of the virus, and learned a lot more about the virus in general, so we had to have him on for another episode to teach us more! We also cover a lot of fun topics, like Khabib retiring from the UFC, Rob Kardashian as a hologram, and the McRib being BACK EVERYWHERE for the first time since 2012! It was a great episode, and as usual, I’m thankful for friends like Keon that I have that I can learn from and grow with. Welcome to Episode 37 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast! This episode is another great one that I am super excited for you guys to hear. This one is with my good friend TJ Beckman. TJ and I met while serving an LDS mission together. It was a privilege to live with him and get to know him in Georgia, and we’ve remained really good friends ever since. TJ lives in Arizona, so I don’t get to see him much, but he’s doing some amazing things that I love to hear about. In this episode we talk about how he started his company, “Kinetic Suppressor”, how the election this year will affect his business, how COVID-19 has changed things for him, and how his brother shot himself in the nuts. In other words: you don’t want to miss this episode. I hope you enjoy! Welcome to Episode 36 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast! This is the longest episode in TWAAP history. We covered a LOT of topics in this one. This episode is with my new friend, Chris Hardman. Chris is a really interesting guy that I had the privilege of “rubbing shoulders” with via social media. Chris is the author of the book “Mornings Shouldn’t Suck” and has helped many people with nutrition, health, and well being. Chris knows a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, what it looks like to be happy, and thankfully he knows a lot about politics. It was great to chat with him about Donald Trump, and this upcoming 2020 election. I hope you guys enjoy this conversation as much as I did, and a big thanks to Chris for coming in and dropping some knowledge on us. !!!!BONUS EPISODE!!!!! Welcome to Episode 34 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! Also, THE FIRST EVER BONUS EPISODE!!!! This episode is a special drop, as it is being released halfway through the week as a Bonus Episode for this week. And we kept it in the FAMILY BABY! We had Grandpa Chad Woolley on earlier this week, and now we have the lovely and beautiful, and powerful Ariya Dru Park! Ariya has been through a lot in her short life and I am excited to have her on the podcast. As you can probably tell, getting an excited, adorable, hyper, and hilarious five year old to focus on speaking into a mic was a bit of challenge, but I think we succeeded. I hope you guys enjoy listening and feel like you’re a part of a conversation with this special little girl! Welcome to Episode 33 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! And welcome to THE FIRST EVER PART TWO EPISODE!!! This part two is with the one and only Chad Woolley. We had him on once before, on Episode 14, which you’ll have to check out as well. Chad is the biggest fan of the podcast and has been mentioned in probably every episode thus far, and I really appreciate all his support. On this episode we talk a lot about politics and the upcoming election, as well as the dynamic between parents and their children, and the cold hard truth of growing up. I asked Chad if he recognized how much his mood impacts others, because I’ve noticed that there are people around me that have a big say in the “vibe” of what’s going on, and he’s one of them. We also talk about learning the cold truth about growing up, and finding out about what your kids did in high school, on this episode. We covered a lot, so I hope you enjoy! Alec and I grew up playing sports together, but it wasn’t until recent years that we developed a better friendship. Alec is a really interesting guy. Not only does he work for the County Watershed as a field tech, but he also knows a lot about action sports, politics, and the mountains. Alec is a really good guy and I’m thankful for people like him that I can learn from. We talked a lot about the upcoming election, and Alec explained a lot to me about climate change, the wildfires, and what we need to do to get our environment healthy again. Welcome to Episode 30 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! This episode was an especially fun one for me to do. Welcome to Episode 29 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast. On this week’s episode, I sat down with my man, Mason Burnett. Mason and I have been friends for a few years now, and we always have a good time whenever we get together. We talked about watches, the Uintas, Skinwalkers, fashion, music, and all sorts of other topics. Welcome to Episode 28 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast. For this week’s episode we mixed things up a bit! I had the opportunity (I use that word loosely) to go on a 4 day backpacking/survival trip with my dad, Chad Woolley, and my brother-in-law, Trent Park. We decided to test our grit against the sometimes very unforgiving Uinta mountains. We met at Christmas Meadows Wednesday evening, where we dropped off a truck. Then our driver, JP, took us to the Highline Trailhead. It was there that our adventure began. We hiked from there to Jordan Lake, stayed a night, and then did some “Back Country Chaddin” and hiked towards Rocky Sea Pass. Once over the pass, we hiked to Black Lake, where we caught some fish and enjoyed a night. Saturday morning, we woke up, caught more fish, then hiked to Lightning Lake. It was there that we had lunch, and sized up the hardest part of the weekend: “Bad Ass Pass”. After a good 3 hours, we finally made it over the pass into Amethyst Basin, and stayed our last night. After that, we woke up and hiked another 6ish miles out, to Christmas Meadows, where our trusty truck awaited our arrival. It was an incredible journey. Throughout the journey we recorded snippets for the podcast, telling what we did and how it went. I hope you enjoy!
