Welcome, y’all! Today’s episode is a talk with Sharina Harris. She’s the author of the newly released novel Judge’s Girls. She has one previous novel titled Imperfectly Happy. She’s an African American woman living and writing in Atlanta Georgia. Sharina and I discuss blended families, which is part of the story in her new book, what it’s like to grow up as a Black woman in the South. We talk about grief and raising Black children and the power of a Black story. She also gives us a peek into some editorial changes she had to make to the story, which were fun to hear. And she lets us know what’s up next for her. Ok. so, we had some tech issues with this interview. Welcome back!On today’s episode I got to speak with a fellow North Carolinian, Scott Gates. His debut novel HARD ROAD SOUTH is out and available and I would highly recommend purchasing a copy.
