Grace (favor and blessing) to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you. 4 In every prayer of mine I always make my entreaty and petition for you all with joy (delight). 5 [I thank my God] for your fellowship (your [a]sympathetic cooperation and contributions and partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you heard it] until now. 6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. 7 It is right and appropriate for me to have this confidence and feel this way about you all, because [b]you have me in your heart and I hold you in my heart as partakers and sharers, one and all with me, of grace (God's unmerited favor and spiritual blessing). [This is true] both when I am shut up in prison and when I am out in the defense and confirmation of the good news (the Gospel).
In this episode of Bottled Up, Andrew Allen talks with Lisa Engel, Director of Sponsorship and Marketing for Classic Company, about her journey into equestrian sports and event marketing. Lisa Engel shares how she went from growing up on a family farm in New Jersey to running major show jumping events across the Gulf Coast, including the Gulf Coast Winter Classic. She explains what makes show jumping unique, the variety of events at the Gulf Coast Winter Classic, and how the community gets involved. They discuss her career pivots from corporate America to full-time horse show management, balancing family life, and the passion behind these events. Listeners also get tips on attending the Gulf Coast Winter Classic, which runs from February 12th to March 22nd and is free and open to the public. 3 Key Listener Takeaways 1. Deep Roots in Equestrian Sports: Lisa Engel has a lifelong connection to horses and equestrian events, starting from her childhood in New Jersey. Her family was not originally horse people, but after getting a free (unbroken) pony, riding became a central activity. This upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a passion that shaped her career and continues to drive her involvement in equestrian events. 2. Versatile Experience and Unique Skillset: Lisa Engel has worked in almost every role within the horse show world, from competitor to barn owner, trainer, and event producer. She also brings marketing and corporate experience to her current role as Director of Sponsorship and Marketing for Classic Company. This combination allows her to effectively bridge the gap between sponsors, vendors, and the riding community, something she believes is key to her success and "staying power" in the industry. 3. The Gulf Coast Winter Classic is a Community Hub: The Gulf Coast Classic horse show in Gulfport, Mississippi, is a major event running for six weeks, welcoming riders of all levels—from beginners to Olympic athletes. The event is open to the public with free admission, offering family-friendly experiences and a chance to witness world-class show jumping in a unique setting. Lisa Engel emphasized how the local community has become invested in the event, creating lasting traditions and connections between competitors and spectators.

December's here, and it's time for the big push through to 2026 and opportunity a new year always brings a business owner to set goals, to lay plans and start acting on them. Yet as you'll hear in this edition of Overdrive Radio, it's also true that in so many ways the time for all of that is now, for any small trucking business owner, at any given moment. Like a football coach responding to what the opposing team throws at his own, a quarterback changing the play at the line, successful owner-operators are nothing if not masters of the art of getting prepped for the unforeseen. It's an impossible ask of anyone in some ways, but also a reality you'll hear through today's talk with four Overdrive Trucker of the Year contenders for this year's title. None less so than owner-operator John Treadway, our September Trucker of the Month. He delivered the shocking news of his pristine 1998 Peterbilt 379's October catastrophic engine failure. How might one prepare for that? Owner Treadway's long experience taught him, like others featured in this roundtable talk, the importance of the back-up plan, and not only could he afford what will ultimately be a reman Caterpillar crate engine powering the unit. The original Cat in the 1998 379 he's hopeful to rebuild with some close associates, furthermore, to in future repower his back-up power unit. That backup, a 2006 379, with plenty miles on the odometer itself, is yet another element of Treadways effective prep for the October catastrophe. It's enable him to continue serving his primary and other customers as Caterpillar works through issues with the engine replacement. His isn't the only update you'll get from owners in this podcast, where host and Overdrive Chief Editor Todd Dills put two principal questions to four owners: 1. How's business looking as we head into 2026, and have any goals set early in year 2025 been brought to fruition? 2. Reflecting on your own history trucking, what's the single best piece of advice you might deliver to new and/or aspiring owner-operators to help on the long road to success? Featured, along with Indiana-headquartered Treadway: **John Penn, our most-recent Trucker of the Month in October, hauling LTL furniture principally: https://overdriveonline.com/15770500 **Similarly LTL-focused fresh meat reefer hauler Jason Shelly, based in Pennsylvania: https://overdriveonline.com/15753418 **And two-truck dump fleet owner (with a third truck in more OTR work) Hunter Hubbard: https://overdriveonline.com/15741276 Overdrive's Trucker of the Year competition is sponsored for 2025 by Bostrom Seating -- there's a new seat on the line for the contenders. Consider this roundtable the "Exit interviews" with each ahead of announcements late this month of finalists, after the judging round. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more featured contenders.

Today we're diving into holiday gifting, the part of the season that somehow feels both magical and mildly panic-inducing. If you've ever found yourself wanting to be thoughtful and generous but also staring at a long list feeling totally overwhelmed… same. This episode is your permission slip to take a breath, simplify, and bring the joy back into giving. I'm sharing the tiny tweaks that have genuinely changed the game for me, starting with reframing gift-giving as a simple expression of gratitude, not a quest for perfection. We'll talk about getting clear instead of chaotic by creating a gift list (my updated printable is linked!), figuring out what kind of shopper and wrapper you actually are, and scheduling shopping so it stops looming over you. You'll hear easy, budget-friendly ideas like favorite drinks, homemade treats, recipe cards, and simple group gifts. Plus, I'm walking you through my go-to “default gift” strategy, the thing that saves my sanity every single December. If you've been craving a calmer, more meaningful gifting season, this episode will help you feel organized, inspired, and maybe even excited again. Grab your coffee and let's make holiday gifting feel manageable, and dare I say, enjoyable. Mentioned in This Episode:

In this episode, I'm sharing my heart on something that so many moms feel this time of year: the holidays are magical… until the pressure, expectations, and “shoulds” start stacking up. With over half of parents reporting higher stress during the holiday season, and one in five saying their stress even dampens their kids' joy, I invite you to slow down, breathe, and shift into a gentler, more intentional way of moving through the season. Instead of striving for a perfect Christmas, I'll share my favorite tiny tweaks to create real peace, joy, and presence this Christmas season. Through personal stories (including a memorable HomeGoods meltdown, a bumpy Aspen landing, and rethinking those “sucky-innie” Christmas pajamas), I'm here to remind you that small changes, like asking “What do I need?”, giving yourself a longer runway, checking your expectations, and communicating clearly make a huge difference in your holiday mindset. This episode is filled with encouragement and practical wisdom to help you ditch overwhelm, release perfection, and craft a Christmas that aligns with your family, your values, and your capacity. Tune in to learn the 10 tiny tweaks that will lighten your load, bring back the magic, and give you permission to savor a season you love, not just for your kids, but for yourself too. The federal government shutdown forced some changes in consumer buying patterns and grocers are noticing it. Kiley Allan follows up on the trend with Nick Novak, President of the Midwest Food Processors Association. He says consumers are being careful with their available dollars and want to know what they're getting. He highlights the value they're finding in canned and frozen vegetables for example. With very few ingredients on the package, consumers are feeling confident about the price and the product. Nebraska has surpassed Texas as the number one cattle feedlot state. Ready or not, the holidays are here, and if you've ever found yourself knee-deep in tangled lights or missing the tape when it's time to wrap gifts, this episode is for you! I'm sitting down with professional organizer and fellow mom, Jaclyn Musselman, to help us take the stress out of holiday prep and replace it with a little more peace and purpose. Jaclyn shares how she turned her passion for simplifying motherhood into a thriving business that helps women declutter their homes and find calm in the chaos, especially during the most wonderful (and sometimes overwhelming) time of year. In this episode, you'll learn how to actually organize your seasonal decor so it's easy to find, how to make the most of small spaces, and why subtracting before adding is the secret to a more peaceful home. Jaclyn also drops game-changing tips for organizing your wrapping station, keeping track of gifts, and letting go of sentimental items, yes, even that Christmas decoration you feel guilty parting with. Plus, we chat about creating cozy holiday vibes that don't add more clutter and why experience-based gifts often mean more than another mug or mantle piece. So grab your favorite holiday drink, put on your festive playlist, and get ready to simplify your season. You'll walk away with practical tips, a few “why didn't I think of that?” moments, and the gentle reminder that a meaningful holiday isn't about more stuff, it's about more peace, presence, and purpose. We're officially (or unofficially!) kicking off the holiday season, and what better way to start than with a heart of gratitude? In this episode, I'm joined by Kerry and April, the creative moms and founders behind Turkey on the Table, a simple, hands-on way for families to practice gratitude together all November long. Born out of a preschool parking lot conversation, this sweet idea turned into a nationwide movement helping parents teach their kids to slow down, notice the good, and give thanks in tangible ways. Kerry and April share the inspiring story of how Turkey on the Table came to life, the surprising science behind gratitude, and why small daily habits can make a big impact on our hearts and homes. They also open up about their meaningful partnership with Feeding America, donating over 1.8 million meals to families in need, and the sweetest stories they've heard from homes, classrooms, and even nursing homes using the turkey tradition to spark joy and connection. If you're ready to anchor your family in gratitude and kick off the holidays with more heart, this episode will leave you inspired, grounded, and ready to start your own tradition of thankfulness. “It ends with the banks looking like they did at the end of World War II... half of their book was government bonds,” says R. Christopher Whalen, investment banker and author. In a conversation with Daniela Cambone, he breaks down the systemic risks emerging in the treasury market. “Today the treasury market is basically a carry trade with a lot of hedge funds using 100 to 1 leverage. That's the market for treasury debt,” he explains, pointing to the fragility of the current system. Whalen also argues that the Bretton Woods framework has eroded and that the dollar's dominance is waning. “This dollar Imperium has run its course.” He believes central banks — including the U.S. Federal Reserve — should diversify their reserves to include gold alongside major currencies like the dollar, euro, and yen. He views gold as a strategic reserve asset with untapped financial utility. “I hope... the BIS is going to recognize gold as a high-quality liquid asset... it would become eligible to be collateral in swaps,” he says. Key Topics: - President Trump and Powell were going to cross swords.- The Fed struggles to manage the economy and rates.- Multifamily real estate is the subprime today.- The Fed should be holding gold.- The dollar is attractive because of our marketplace.- National debt has tripled in 15 years.

He plans to issue an executive order to protect NatGas-powered appliances. Reuters Source: zerohedge.com https://twitter.com/KobeissiLetter/status/1877044177172611542 Sue, Baby, Sue: Trump Plan To "Un-Ban" The Biden Drilling Order Could Prove Difficult After a presidential campaign where both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris pushed back on claims that they were trying to shut down much of the fossil fuel industry, Biden waited until the final days of his administration to ban oil and gas drilling over 670 million acres of America's coastline. President-elect Donald Trump responded that “It's ridiculous.I'll un-ban it immediately. I have the right to un-ban it immediately.” It will likely be more difficult than a simple “un-ban” order. Environmental groups will likely push a “sue, baby, sue” campaign to counter Trump's “drill, baby, drill.” In his statement, Biden justified the move to counter the “climate crisis.” So, there are grounds to assert this authority of reversal, but it will take years in court. The alternative and preferred route would be Congress. This is an issue that should ultimately rest with Congress. Here's how this would work: Criteria for Using IEEPA: The President must declare a national emergency based on an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States that has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States.

Dr. Phil ventures into the wild world of prepping, where families and individuals are gearing up for doomsday scenarios amid political tension and global uncertainty. With the political climate boiling over and the specter of disaster looming, a surprising trend is taking root: prepping. Once dismissed as paranoid fringe behavior, preppers are now part of the mainstream. Dr. Phil delves into the psychology behind prepping, uncovering the motivations and fears that drive this growing movement. From nuclear war to civil unrest, the threats are real, and preppers are ready to face them head-on. Landon and Amanda are a prepper family, stocking their high-tech underground bunker in Indiana with enough supplies to withstand an apocalyptic event. Dr. Drew Miller says his Fortitude Ranch locations across the country are prepped for over 50 different scenarios that could collapse the US. Tylor is a survivalist in Utah who says preppers have been given a bad name. Dr. Bradley Garrett, a prepper researcher, gives insights on the psychology of prepping after studying people all over the world. But as tensions escalate and uncertainty mounts, Dr. Phil urges viewers to consider the true cost of preparedness. With humor and insight, he navigates the fine line between caution and obsession, reminding us all to live in the present while preparing for the worst. It's a gripping journey into the heart of survivalism, where the line between fear and foresight is razor-thin.
Lori Zuker Briller co-founded a staffing and recruitment agency almost 20 years ago, and in the last few years she's noticed a concerning trend among the young people who are applying for positions in various industries: a decline in professionalism, a lack of understanding of the job market and job search processes, and an overall deterioration in etiquette. As a mom of two daughters herself, Lori set out to create something that would help teenagers get back to the basics of professionalism and prepare for the adult world. In this conversation, Lori and I discuss how we got here as a society (hint: Covid, a more casual culture, and a change in modern communication styles) and just a few things we can teach our teenagers to set themselves up for success. The new tariffs expand on Trump-era tariffs on China that the Biden administration kept in place, SCMP reports. In 2018, then president Donald Trump imposed tariffs of 7 to 25 per cent on US$300 billion of Chinese imports under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, citing “unfair” trade practices.
