I wanted to bring my boyfriend Joseph on. Aside from the fact that we are a weird couple with such dry humor, we do have some serious obstacles in our life regarding my chronic illnesses! I wanted him to talk about his feelings regarding being part of my life with diabetes, what helped him ease into life with me and my illness, how we communicate about it, the scariest moments, and where he transitioned into being this super educated and a super helpful boyfriend! Dating and diabetes is hard enough, but I want to show you some of the things that helped our relationship through the lens of a partner that doesn't have this chronic illness! I need to share this because I needed to hear this 3 years ago! I was in such a negative mindset. My chapter 1 was a SHIT SHOW! I was dealing with going to grad school, overweight, drinking, dealing with an abusive ex boyfriend, dealing with a court case against him, not knowing where I was going in life, and completely HATING my body for all of its chronic illnesses. This episode is for YOU girl! For you to hear the ways I was able to change my mindset and then change my life! You can and you will if you want to make a change. I made that change for myself and thank God I did! I come from pain and darkness as I am sure so do you! Just remember your past and your pain and draw from it and recycle it! Recycle that pain and let it DRIVE you to do HARD THINGS! Shifting your mindset can be a game changer when it comes to finding motivation for all things in life. Positivity can go a long way, but it is harder to maintain. This episode should help you along your journey to positivity and staying there!
