That seems to be the argument in both the 2024 edition of Daley-Harris' RECLAIMING OUR DEMOCRACY and in our discussion today about how to resurrect American democracy in 2024. This week the King's English Bookshop will host a special event with Author and Activist Sam Daley-Harris to celebrate the release of the latest edition of his landmark book, Reclaiming our Democracy: Healing the Break Between People and Government. How can advocacy be revived in America? What difference can each of us make in our communities, and what impact could that have on the country?

How do you empower citizens to effectively engage with their government to solve big problems? We talk this month to the person who literally wrote the book on this topic, Sam Daley-Harris. He's the founder and CEO of Civic Courage, and he'll share some of the successes he's seen with the organizations he's coached. One of those is Citizens' Climate Lobby. In 1980, Sam founded RESULTS, a grassroots advocacy organization working to end hunger and poverty. He is the author of Reclaiming Our Democracy: Healing the Break Between People and Government, which tells the stories of life-changing moments people had in discovering their power to make a difference. Originally trained as a musician, Sam Daley-Harris played percussion instruments in the Miami Philharmonic and was Terry Wollman's high school music teacher.
