“What's the sweetest secret you've ever kept from someone you love?” That's the question that kicks off this lively episode where Sandy and Tricia invite you into their world of playful banter, honest confessions, and unexpected insights. From the start, Sandy and Tricia's chemistry shines as they celebrate celebrity birthdays, reminisce about Yanni concerts, and share the quirks that make their marriage both hilarious and relatable. Tricia's “biggest flex” is being “super weird, but still convinced a hot guy to marry me,” setting the tone for a show that's as heartfelt as it is humorous.Key moments include:Sweet Treat Confessions: Sandy admits to sneaking a Reese's Peanut Butter Fast Break and hiding the evidence, sparking a candid conversation about guilt, honesty, and the little lies we tell those closest to us. “I didn't want to take you down my dark path,” Sandy jokes, as Tricia playfully calls him out.Family Dynamics: The couple contrasts their own playful “animal” behavior with the almost comically polite exchanges between Sandy's parents, offering a glimpse into the different ways love and kindness show up in relationships.Listener Shout-Outs: Loyal fans like Pam, Sonia, Maria, Bobby Bentley, and others get heartfelt mentions, reinforcing the show's sense of community and connection.Curious Facts & Laughs: Ever wondered what the first item sold on eBay was? Or if shouting at seagulls really works? Sandy and Tricia dive into these quirky topics, blending fun facts with their signature wit.Memorable moments abound, from Tricia's validation in “rewarding yourself with sweet treats” to the hilarious revelation that “shouting at seagulls does in fact make them more likely to leave your food alone”—a “study” Sandy suspects was conducted by “two young teenage boys on summer vacation.” This episode is a rollercoaster of laughter, honesty, and curiosity—perfect for anyone who loves real talk, relatable stories, and a dash of the unexpected.Notable Quotes“My biggest flex in life is that I'm super weird, but still convinced a hot guy to marry me.”“I didn't want to take you down my dark path.”“Shouting at seagulls does in fact make them more likely to leave your food alone.”Call to Action Loved this episode? What if online harassment isn't random at all—but part of a strategy? In this explosive episode of The Healthier Tech Podcast, host R Blank talks with Viktorya Vilk, Director of Digital Safety and Free Expression at PEN America, about how governments, corporations, and tech platforms are turning the internet into a weapon against free speech. Viktorya reveals how political power, economic pressure, and digital surveillance now intersect to create an ecosystem where journalists, writers, and even librarians are targeted for speaking out. She breaks down how authoritarian tactics, media consolidation, and platform indifference have combined to make the online world hostile to truth—and what each of us can do to push back. In This Episode: How the U.S. dropped to 57th in global press freedom rankings—and why that's not an accident The chilling new playbook: online harassment as a censorship tool Why Big Tech's business model thrives on surveillance, fear, and silence How Facebook and Google siphoned 70% of online ad revenue, collapsing local journalism Real-life examples of reporters attacked, arrested, and digitally terrorized for telling the truth The practical digital safety steps every person can take—starting today Why Viktorya refuses to give in to “tech nihilism” and insists users have power Why You Should Listen This isn't just a podcast about harassment or privacy—it's about democracy, power, and your voice. Viktorya explains how the same digital forces that endanger journalists are eroding safety and free expression for everyone. But she also shares concrete tools to rebuild your sense of control online: from password hygiene and privacy audits to collective advocacy that pressures tech platforms to act responsibly. She makes one thing clear: silence is the goal of harassment—and awareness is the antidote. In Shouting Out Loud: Lives of The Raincoats (Da Capo Press, 2025) Audrey Golden traces the history of the iconic band The Raincoats staring of the founding by Art students Gina Birch and Ana da Silva in 1977. Since the release of their seminal early records, the band has been revered by punk, queer, feminist, and indie pop artists alike. The Raincoats reimagined the nature of experimental music and DIY design, and went on to inspire Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and an entire generation of Riot Grrrl and queercore musicians. Shouting Out Loud: Lives of the Raincoats tells this story, which resonates at the heart of late twentieth century radical art, in three distinct lives of the band. In The Raincoats' first life, they recorded three full-length albums now regarded as classics and were the first punk band to play behind the Iron Curtain in Warsaw. Nearly a decade later in 1992, the band's second life took off when Kurt Cobain's love of the band catalyzed their renaissance, and The Raincoats became renowned as 'godmothers of grunge and Riot Grrrl' only to go on hiatus again in 1996. In 2001, The Raincoats reemerged in a third and ongoing iteration marked by performances in art museums such as New York's MoMA, the Pompidou Centre in Paris, and London's National Portrait Gallery. The Raincoats have and continue to be a singular phenomenon and influence for so many. Featuring exclusive interviews and never-before-seen images from The Raincoats' archive, Shouting Out Loud is the first biography of this pioneering group of women who paved the way for hundreds of artists who have followed in their footsteps and the must-have account of a legendary band that holds a vital place in twentieth and twenty-first century sonic history. Send us a textWhere's the line between sharing your faith and just being rude? In this thoughtful exploration, we tackle the uncomfortable reality of witnessing gone wrong and what authentic Christian evangelism should look like.We dive into the problematic trend of Christians disrupting public spaces—like restaurants and malls—with impromptu worship sessions or confrontational preaching, examining why these approaches often close doors rather than open hearts. "You may be the only Bible somebody reads," one host points out, highlighting how our actions speak louder than our words when representing Christ. The conversation shifts to the deeper issues underlying these misguided approaches: a focus on conversion numbers rather than discipleship, a lack of relationship-building, and the absence of genuine service. We explore why street preaching so often misses the mark and how forced evangelism damages future witnessing opportunities.Drawing from Mark 10:45—"For the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve"—we discuss how true Christian witness flows naturally from authentic service and relationship. When we focus on loving others tangibly, conversations about faith emerge organically rather than forcefully.Whether you're passionate about sharing your faith or you've been on the receiving end of uncomfortable evangelism, this episode offers thoughtful perspectives on how Christians can better represent Christ in a world desperate for authentic connection rather than religious performance. This was recorded in a world before Silksong, so please excuse Chris' dunks on the Silksong community. He has since played 8 hours of it and thinks it's good. However, for years before it's release every gaming show would have the same meme. Where's Silksong? We've seen this with other games over time as well. Where's Half-Life 3? Where's Shenmue 3? What's Randy Pitchford doing on that bathroom floor? Sometimes we have to wonder, are we excited about the actual games, or are we just excited about being excited about games?
