After betrayal, it is natural to want the whole map before you move. You want to know if your marriage can be saved, if they are telling the truth, whether you will regret staying or leaving, and if you will ever feel like yourself again. But what if the map does not appear until you move? In this episode, Lora Cheadle shares a story from her 10-year podcast anniversary trip to New York, where her GPS kept spinning and recalculating until she finally started walking. That moment became the perfect metaphor for betrayal recovery: standing still does not always create clarity. Sometimes movement creates clarity. Through stories from New York, Broadway, The Wizard of Oz, Wicked, and her own betrayal recovery journey, Lora explores why healing requires more than listening, learning, or waiting to see what your partner will do. Healing requires a path, a plan, support, and the willingness to take the next step. If you are tired of spiraling, eroding your boundaries, betraying yourself to keep the peace, or waiting for someone else to become clear before you reclaim your own life, this episode will help you understand why it is time to stop waiting for the map to appear and take the path.   Top 3 Takeaways The map may not appear until you move. After betrayal, it is tempting to wait for certainty before taking action. But clarity often comes through movement, not before it. Listening is not the same as having a plan. Podcasts, books, therapy, and support groups can all be helpful, but gathering information is not the same as walking a structured recovery path. You do not have to walk the path alone. Healing after betrayal requires heart, head, courage, support, and action. Like Dorothy gathering companions along the Yellow Brick Road, you need people and a process to help you move forward.   Favorite Quote “The map will not appear until you move. But you do not have to keep walking the journey alone.”   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. This is not a political argument. It is not cultural commentary. It is a summons to accountability before God. Dr. Shanequa E. Wilson exposes the war within – the internal erosion of conviction, the distortion of identity, and the quiet agreements made with fear, culture, and compromise. From generational foundations to modern-day deception, she dismantles false narratives that have shaped minds, weakened families, and diluted spiritual authority. Through biblical examination, national reflection, and personal confrontation, this work moves beyond observation and into repositioning. It challenges readers to: – Examine the internal agreements fueling external chaos – Discern the spiritual forces influencing societal direction – Reclaim identity grounded in truth – Stand with clarity in a time demanding courage This book is not designed for passive readers. It is written for those willing to confront themselves before confronting the world. The battle is not merely around you. It is within you. And where you stand internally determines what you will stand for publicly.

Episode Summary: When someone you love is living with PTSD, it can leave you feeling helpless, confused, and afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. You want to help—but what if your well-intended words make things worse? In honor of PTSD Awareness Month, Rev. Jessica Van Roekel and I address the questions so many caregivers, spouses, friends, and family members quietly ask: How do I support someone with PTSD? What helps? What hurts? And how do I walk with them without losing myself? This conversation offers practical guidance, psychological insight, and biblical hope for anyone loving someone through trauma. On a recent episode of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, I offered an episode discussing Understanding PTSD: What it Is, What It Isn't, and How God Meets Us in the Aftermath of Trauma. We are continuing this important discussion with How to Help a Loved One Who Is Struggling with PTSD: What to Do and What Not to Do. Quotables from the Episode: PTSD is not a character issue or a lack of effort. It's a nervous system injury. What looks like withdrawal, irritability, or emotional distance is often the brain doing its best to keep a person safe. Change does not mean broken beyond repair. The brain is wounded, but it's also capable of healing. When we name trauma responses accurately, we reduce shame and increase compassion. PTSD behaviors are not about a lack of love. They're about a lack of felt safety. A regulated nervous system helps regulate another nervous system. You don't have to fix the trauma, but your calm, consistent presence communicates safety. Validation quiets the brain's alarm system and reduces emotional intensity. Trauma healing doesn't follow a timeline. It follows safety. Loving someone with PTSD is not about doing everything right. It's about doing your best with compassion. Scripture References: Romans 15:1 “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.” Isaiah 42:3 “A bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench.” Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 “Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Recommended Resources: Reframing Rejection: How Looking Through a Different Lens Changes Everything By Jessica Van Roekel Sacred Scars: Resting in God’s Promise That Your Past Is Not Wasted by Dr. Michelle Bengtson The Hem of His Garment: Reaching Out To God When Pain Overwhelms by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Today is Going to be a Good Day: 90 Promises from God to Start Your Day Off Right by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety’s Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety’s Grip Free Study Guide Free PDF Resource: How to Fight Fearful/Anxious Thoughts and Win Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor’s Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Free Webinar: Help for When You’re Feeling Blue Social Media Links for Host and Guest: Connect with Rev. Time is one of the most valuable resources in education, especially in an uncertain funding landscape that demands more with less. Yet many teachers, principals, district leaders, and higher education administrators spend countless hours responding to reporting requirements that are often duplicative, fragmented, or outdated.  How can education leaders distinguish between reporting requirements that inform better decisions and those that simply add to the workload? And how can they reduce this administrative burden to devote more time and energy to supporting students?  In this episode of Leading Voices, Kelsey Krausen, Director of Education Finance at WestEd, shares what's driving administrative burden across education and what district and state leaders can do to reduce it.  How We Can Help  WestEd partners with districts, institutions of higher education, states, and Tribal governments to build effective organizational and policy structures that improve student learning opportunities and outcomes. Learn more about the support Krausen and her team provide.  From the Episode   Cut the Clutter: How Nevada Is Changing Reporting Requirements to Support Smarter School Funding, WestEd  Nevada Department of Education reducing school paperwork, Nevada Appeal

What if the very thing you think is "childish" is actually the life skill you need most right now?   In this "Report from the Creative Closet," I'm looking at the fear of uncertainty that keeps so many adults stuck. We discuss why we've become so uncomfortable with open-endedness and why we feel like we need a manual for everything—even for taking a break.   I share the "Obsolete Child" philosophy, the reality of the "Imagination Lab," and why reclaiming your sense of play is the fastest way to break the cycle of perfectionism. This isn't about making "art"—it's about remembering how to be a person who is willing to try, fail, and stay curious.   I'm Nancy Norbeck, and I'm your Messy Muse Mentor. I help people feel alive again through creativity, curiosity, and play.   In this episode, I discuss: The Adulting Bind: Why we can't do things well because we won't try until we're already perfect. The Instruction Obsession: What a 3-week break taught me about the difference between adults and children. Adaptability vs. Rules: Why "play" is actually the highest form of problem-solving and resilience. The Power of Permission: How to give yourself the green light to move outside the boxes you've built. Ready to send your inner critic to summer camp for an hour? We get together once a month for a relaxed, co-working-style session where you can work on whatever you want—without any pressure to do it "right." Episode: The Turning Point — Left or Right? Every single one of us will eventually reach a critical crossroads in our lives. It’s a moment designed by God where your life can completely change direction. When you hit that turning point, you face a defining choice: do you turn to the right and follow God's truth, or do you turn to the left toward your own destruction? In this episode of Hardcore Christianity, Brother Mike celebrates his silver anniversary on the radio by diving deep into the ultimate crossroads of human history. From the ancient prayers of Israel to the modern conspiracies surrounding public figures like Charlie Kirk, this study exposes what happens when individuals and entire nations make the wrong turn. Brother Mike breaks down major biblical and historical turning points, revealing the heavy cost of a wrong choice and the beautiful restoration waiting for those who choose right: The Ultimate Rejection: Discover how the Jewish nation prayed for 400 years for the Messiah, only to reach their turning point in Matthew 27 and choose Barabbas instead, invoking a generational curse that echoed through centuries of hardship. The Jealousy of Cain: Unpack Genesis 4, where Cain faced the rejection of his offering and, instead of repenting, turned left into murderous jealousy and took the life of his brother Abel. The Pride of Lucifer: Examine the catastrophic fall of the anointed cherub in Isaiah 14. Blessed with gifts off the charts, Lucifer allowed "me, myself, and I" to take over, making a fatal wrong turn that seals his ultimate judgment in the lake of fire. The Promise of Restoration: Look ahead to the glorious future outlined in Revelation 20. Learn how born-again Christians will rule under the authority of Christ, how Israel will be saved in the final war, and how King David will serve as the earthly king in a restored kingdom. Have you already reached your turning point? Are you standing at one right now? You don't have to navigate this critical decision alone. Is your house clean - not just physically, but spiritually? In this powerful Bible teaching, we uncover what it truly means to consecrate your home and keep it set apart for God's glory. Using the stories of Moses and John the Baptist, we see what happens when discouragement causes us to strike at our Deliverer - and how God still moves in the midst of our mess. Jesus' message to John in prison and to us remains the same: He may not be removing you from your situation, but He is working IN it. Today's message will teach you how to: 1. Anoint your home and pray angel protection over every door and window 2. Walk in sanctification and discernment: you are chosen by God 3. Make your home a house of prayer, joy, and life-giving conversation 4. Develop christian habits that honour God in your household 5. Live in gratitude: you are not a foreigner, not an orphan “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15 Your home is not just a building. It is a sanctuary. After infidelity, it's easy to make decisions from shock, fear, anger, and survival mode. But some of the choices you make in the days and weeks after discovery can create a second wave of pain—legally, emotionally, financially, and relationally. In this episode, betrayal recovery expert and attorney Lora Cheadle shares the biggest mistakes betrayed partners make after infidelity, from stalking and social media blowups to using children as investigators, obsessively searching for answers, and managing a partner's recovery. Most importantly, she explains how to protect your future self while navigating one of life's most devastating experiences. If you've been betrayed and don't know what to do next, this episode will help you slow down, regulate your nervous system, and avoid letting the affair cost you twice.   Top 3 Takeaways 1.      Your First Job Isn't Deciding Whether to Stay or Leave When betrayal is discovered, your brain immediately wants certainty, answers, and relief. But your first responsibility isn't making life-changing decisions—it's protecting yourself from decisions made in a shocked, terrified, and traumatized state. The Biggest Mistake Isn't What They Did—It's Abandoning Yourself The deepest trap after betrayal is becoming consumed by your partner's actions, recovery, and choices while neglecting your own healing. Recovery begins when you stop obsessing about them and start rebuilding trust in yourself. Don't Let the Affair Cost You Twice The affair is painful enough. Don't create a second wave of damage through impulsive legal, financial, social media, or emotional decisions made from survival mode. Before you act, ask yourself: Will this help me six months from now, or is it helping me feel better for six minutes?   Favorite Quotes "The biggest mistake is abandoning yourself while trying to figure out what they're doing." "Your first job after betrayal is protecting your future self from decisions made by your shocked, terrified, traumatized present self."   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. When you feel an interest arising in you to learn and practice Tantra, you will very soon encounter vitriolic gate keeping (by those who are themselves often outside the gates). You will come up against established hierarchies and rigid "traditions". People, often internet strangers, will almost always have something to say about your practice and as if they were the highest authorities on the subject, offer their opinions (whether asked or unasked) about what you can or cannot do. What human being is allowed to have power over any human being, though? When did we accept that as natural and alright and when did we decide to give away our power to those who claim to know better. If there's anything to learn, we must learn for ourselves following our svadharma, our inherent nature and the inclinations of our own heart, which is often (and this is sometimes scary to hear) wholly unique and wholly different from anyone else. What you have to do in your own journey has never been and will be never done. What model then exists to guide you but your own inspiration and whimsy? Everyone is valid and everyone's truth is true in their own context, given their own predilections, but just because something is true before and is true for someone else does not mean it is true now or true for you. Why do we cling to the way things used to be? The ideas of 10th and 11th CE India (and a lot of the times these are distorted by 700 years of Mogul rule and after that a wave of Christian apologetics during the British Rāj, e.g the Brāhmo and Arya Samāj movements of 19th CE ) are like beautiful but antiquated coins. They worked before for different people in a different time but they have no currency now. We are now, and we are different and so these ideas need to be re-evalutated, re-interpreted and re-contextualized, to preserve the best and incinerate the rest! You are a sovereign being! You can do whatever the fuck you want. And because you value radical freedom in yourself, you will by nature value it in others and be perfectly ethical, peaceful and loving, giving others the space to express themselves the way you express yourself freely. It is only when you deprive yourself the right to radical, authentic expression that you start to judge others and feel negatively towards them. Unethical action comes from repression and fear. Stop letting people suppress you! Stop letting the fear mongering and superstition on the internet scare you away from doing the things you love. You see, when you come to Tantra, out of genuine love and curiosity, especially when you have an interest in the "darker" side of our tradition (the left hand path, fierce Goddesses like Kālī, the radical world-affirming and life-embracing Advaita of the Mahārtha, i.e Śākta tradition), you will sooner or later come up against established hierarchies and self-appointed pontiffs telling you what you can or cannot do, keeping a gate closed to a city they have often themselves never entered. To this, we say, lovingly: fuck all that. Lets storm the gates, loot the city and redistribute the wealth (esoteric wisdom) which is the common property of every being everywhere regardless of race, nationality, religion, caste, gender, sexual-orientation, life-style choices etc. But what would such an anti-establishment, punk-rock, outlaw Tantra look like? We try to articulate what such a revolution would take n this first installment from our "Kentucky Fried Tantra" retreat of 2026.No masters, no leaders, no rules. Take back what's yours. Reclaim your power. Do what you want and leave others to do what they want. Freedom! Radical freedom! We will settle for nothing else, we who are the rabid ganas and Bhutan of our Lord and Lady, Shiva and Kali, who are the themselves Revolution Incarnate. Compass policy advisor Chris Griswold joins Oren to make sense of what doing so means in practice on the eve of America's 250th anniversary. They discuss how a fuller understanding of being a citizen breaks from the libertarian notion that liberty is merely a question of maximizing the freedom to do what one wants, and how a commitment to the latter has done so much damage to our body politic. And they outline the pillars of how to reclaim our citizenship, and what America could look like if we did.Further reading:Reclaiming American Citizenship, American Compass

Episode Summary: What if the reactions you’ve judged yourself for—your hypervigilance, emotional numbness, sudden panic, or exhaustion—aren’t signs of spiritual weakness or personal failure, but evidence of a brain that has been doing everything it can to keep you alive? Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions, especially within faith communities. Today on Your Hope-Filled Perspective, we are going to gently untangle what PTSD truly is, what it is not, and how God meets us not just in the trauma itself—but in the long, tender aftermath that follows. Today, in honor of PTSD Awareness Month, we’re going to talk about Understanding PTSD: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and How God Meets Us in the Aftermath of Trauma. Quotables from the episode: PTSD is not a failure of faith. It is the result of a nervous system that adapted to survive overwhelming circumstances." Your trauma responses are not moral failures. They are survival responses. The body remembers what the mind would rather forget. The same brain that learned to protect you can also learn safety again. God does not rush the healing He Himself designed to unfold gently. God is not disappointed by your symptoms. He is present in your healing. Scripture never teaches that faith erases biology. Your faith resides in your heart and mind, but trauma often lives in the body. And God cares about both. Healing from PTSD does not mean erasing your story. It means integrating it. Your trauma may have changed you, but it does not disqualify you. Reiki Lifestyle® Podcast

Are you still aligned with the goals you set at the beginning of the year, or have you been swept up in a fast, urgent pace? In this session, Robyn and Colleen Benelli guide you through a mid-year Reiki check-in to reflect on your original intentions, clear hidden blocks, and see what still holds authentic life force for your path forward. Learn how to navigate the "messy middle" of your manifestation journey by using Reiki tools to quiet the external noise and return to your inner truth. Key Insights Evaluating Mid-Year Life Force: Intentions are fluid, and a mid-year check-in allows you to look back at your initial goals to see which ones still feel warm, steady, and vibrant. Some goals may be completed, some may have softened, and others may simply need a new form to align with your current spiritual growth. Eagle Vision vs. Mouse Vision: Grounding your manifestations requires shifting your perspective. Eagle vision lets you soar high above to see the entire trajectory of your path behind and in front of you, while Mouse vision drops you directly into the present moment, helping you navigate the immediate, practical details. Aligning the Multiple Minds: To accurately hear your inner wisdom over the loud, external noise of the world, Reiki helps coordinate your distinct centers of intelligence. By aligning your Divine Mind, analytical human mind, heart mind, instinctual gut mind (soul knowledge), and physical Earth mind (cellular memory), you bring your entire being into centered stability. The Healing Power of the Pause: When the pace of life becomes hurried and full of false urgency, simply pausing to take a deep breath and consciously choosing to receive Reiki changes your energetic frequency. This practice of "microdosing" Reiki trains the ordinary mind to automatically think from a deeper, more peaceful space. People Also Ask (FAQ) How do I know if my manifestation goals are still right for me? During a mid-year check-in, bring Reiki energy directly into your original intentions and listen to your inner truth. If a goal still feels warm, peaceful, or quietly persistent, it still holds life force. If it feels distant, heavy, or no longer relevant, you can use Reiki tools to gracefully let it go. What is the "messy middle" in a Reiki manifestation path? The "messy middle" is the phase where you are transitioning between letting go of old patterns and completely anchoring your new goals. It can feel confusing or unclear, but utilizing Reiki tools during this time helps bring clarity of mind, stability, and the patience required to let your intentions gestate naturally. How do you use Reiki to overcome over-giving and open to receiving? Many practitioners struggle with an imbalance of over-giving. To step into authentic receiving, practice stopping throughout your day, placing a hand on your heart if possible, and using a Reiki symbol while setting the conscious intention: "I receive." This microdosing technique retrains your system to accept support and opportunities. Silencing Self-Doubt: How to Reclaim Your True Identity With Danny Pilkington

Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast

Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In today's episode, we're talking about how to silence the voice that says you're never good enough so that you can find peace in your true identity. For over 35 years Danny has been doing one thing — helping people get out of their own way. As a Lance Sergeant in the Coldstream Guards he led and trained soldiers to perform under the most uncompromising conditions. As a sportsman he represented his regiment at the highest level. As a coach he has worked with soldiers, athletes and everyday people — thousands of them — helping them unlock what they were always capable of. But his most important qualification isn't his military record or his coaching career. It's what happened after he walked through a pair of iron gates in August 1996 with two suitcases and no idea who he was without a uniform. What followed was the darkest chapter of his life. Drugs. Alcohol. Shame. A man who had protected the Queen, represented his regiment and led soldiers into the unknown — reduced to someone he didn't recognise in the mirror. And then — one morning — he looked in that mirror and decided enough. Not with a plan. Not with a programme. With two questions. Where am I now? And who do I want to be? Those two questions changed everything. And they have been at the heart of his coaching, his speaking and his mission ever since. Danny doesn't do it gently. He doesn't do hand holding. He doesn't tell you everything is going to be okay. He tells you the truth. With the directness of a sergeant major, the empathy of someone who has been at the bottom, and the conviction of someone who knows — absolutely knows — the way back up.His message is simple and uncompromising. Your potential isn't gone. The story you're telling yourself isn't the truth. And the person you used to be — before the baggage, before the excuses, before you stopped believing — they're still there. Buried. Waiting. No nonsense. No excuses. Just your best. Danny is at the top of the hill with his hand outstretched... it's your move.Connect with Danny Here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011170668807https://www.instagram.com/personalgrowthcoach/https://canva.link/coachdannypilkingtonGrab the freebie here: Changethescriptcoaching.ezycourse.com/en/course-detail/thresilienceblueprint/38197===================================If you enjoyed this episode, remember to hit the like button and subscribe. In this episode, Martin Lewis unpacks what's really happening with energy prices and the energy price cap—what it means for your bills right now, what's likely coming next, and the practical steps you can take to protect your household finances. From fixed vs variable tariffs to whether now is the right time to switch. We dive into the surprising world of lost and forgotten money, shining a spotlight on the billions that could be sitting unclaimed in old accounts, refunds, or schemes many of us have simply forgotten about. Martin explores where this money commonly hides, including dormant bank and savings accounts and unclaimed pension pots from previous jobs. Tell Us is all about when you have found money you didn't know you had. From rediscovered savings accounts to surprise payouts decades later, the episode celebrates the unexpected windfalls—including a caller who found money in her knicker draw. Steffan Powell is presenting instead of Adrian Chiles this week. In Mastermind Martin asks him about reclaiming student loan overpayments before guiding listeners through how to check if they've paid too much and how to get that cash back. What do you do when your first subscription box launch falls completely flat? If you're Jennifer of Becoming Box, you go back to the drawing board, figure out what went wrong, and come back with a launch that generates a six-thousand-person waitlist in just five weeks. This week on the Launch Your Box podcast, I sat down with Jennifer, a twenty-year real estate broker turned subscription box owner, to talk about her incredible journey from launching to crickets ten days before Christmas to building one of the most targeted, passionate audiences I've seen from a brand-new box owner. Before Becoming Box, Jennifer had another idea entirely. She raised show goats and wanted to bring that experience to families through a subscription. She worked on it for months, then launched ten days before Christmas. She got crickets. But Jennifer didn't walk away. She started researching. And that's when she found Launch Your Box. The Workshop That Changed Everything One of the first things Jennifer did after joining Launch Your Box was go through my 6 in 60 Workshop, a free workshop you can access at 6in60workshop.com. She realized she had nothing in common with the ideal customer of her original box. Without that connection, she couldn't truly serve them. So she started asking herself: What am I actually passionate about? What do I know inside and out because I'm living it? A Niche Born from Personal Experience Jennifer had started taking GLP-1 medication in October of 2025. What she found when she went looking for community was a lot of women struggling in silence. Women were joining Facebook groups to talk about their experiences because they couldn't talk about it anywhere else. They were being shamed. They were getting inconsistent information. And many of them were also navigating perimenopause and menopause at the same time. Jennifer also noticed something else. These women were mostly Gen X. That insight became the foundation of everything. Three Boxes. One Clear Mission. Becoming Box launched with three distinct subscription options, each one named with intention. Reclaim is for women on GLP-1 who are reclaiming pieces of themselves they set aside for years. Reckoning is for women in perimenopause. Not a box that treats that season as just a transition to get through. Unfiltered is for women who are doing both, living the GLP-1 journey while navigating perimenopause at the same time. It's about taking the filter completely off and just being yourself. Unfiltered turned out to be the most popular box by nearly double. And it's also the most expensive, at eighty-nine dollars a month. The Content That Built a Six-Thousand-Person Waitlist in Five Weeks Jennifer didn't have an existing audience. She started from scratch. She put up a simple waitlist page. No freebies. No giveaways. Just an invitation. Then she created a video that spoke directly to Gen X women in the language they actually use. That video resonated so strongly that people weren't just watching it, they were sharing it. She started with five to ten dollars a day in paid ads. The cost per waitlist signup was around forty-five cents. Over five weeks, her waitlist grew to six thousand people. That's what happens when you know your customer, speak their language, and make them feel seen. A Launch That Actually Worked When Jennifer was ready to launch, she did a soft launch to her waitlist only with a seventy-two hour window. She finished her first launch with forty-six subscribers. These were people who invested in something entirely new, without full product photos, without a long track record. They bought because they trusted her and they believed in what she was building. The Details That Made the Difference Jennifer wanted tools that women could use every day. Things that actually supported the GLP-1 and perimenopause journey. One month she included a heat wrap for the aches and body changes that come with this season. Another item was custom lounge pants with the monthly theme printed on them. And Jennifer is now adding a custom magazine to each box, filled with real information about GLP-1 updates, hair shedding, hormone health, and the questions her community has been asking everywhere else but struggling to find straight answers to. What's Next for Becoming Box Jennifer has her eyes on five hundred subscribers by the end of the year. Jennifer's message is simple: “Know your ideal customer. Not just who they are, but how to talk to them. Know what they need and want and look for how you can provide that. When you do that, they will come.” Where to find Jennifer: Becoming Box Website Becoming Box on Facebook Becoming Box on Instagram Join me in all the places: Facebook Instagram Launch Your Box with Sarah Website Are you ready for Launch Your Box? Ready to finally break free from the relentless go-go-go of homeschool mom life and actually feel rested again? (Nope, that nagging to-do list doesn't count.) In this episode, I'm inviting you behind the scenes of my own summer shift—from noisy productivity to a slower, more soul-filling kind of rest. Here's the not-so-secret truth: most of us homeschool moms are absolutely terrible at resting. I know I am. Give me an empty summer calendar, and suddenly I'm knee-deep in a bedroom declutter, my head bursting with more projects than I could possibly finish. Meanwhile, my kids are doing exactly what summer's meant for: slowing down, savoring, sleeping in, play, and a little joyful loafing. Why is it so hard for us to join them? This week, I'm reflecting on what rest really means (hint: it's way deeper than a rare solo trip to Target). There's “day at the spa” rest, sure—but even more, there's the everyday spiritual and emotional rest Jesus offers. I'm sharing practical habits I'm actively working on—like journaling in my Bible, being intentional with what I choose to read (and what inputs I allow!), slowing down my audiobooks (yes, really), and actually carving out margin to just...be quiet. Maybe you'll hear something that sparks your own personal “rest” list.Want to create habits of rest, not just wish for them? Grab your notebook. Let's do it.What you'll hear in this episode:The honest confession: why “rest” never makes it to the top of my list—and what changed this summer. The four types of exhaustion (and why it matters for homeschool moms). What spiritual rest really looks like (spoiler: it's not a spa day).My personal “habits of rest” list for summer—including practical, small ways to slow down.Choosing your “inputs” and why intentionality matters for an overwhelmed mind. How to reclaim quiet reflection and model healthier rhythms for our kids. The “shutdown practice” I'm experimenting with to protect my evenings and my sanity.Resources mentioned:Tired of Being Tired by Jess ConnollyMatthew 11:28-30Journaling BibleKayse Pratt's Weekly Reset System on sale through June 30, 2026!Previous episode with Kasey Pratt on monthly planningYour turn:What would make your own "habits of rest" list?Which type of exhaustion is loudest in your life right now?Share your list or reflections in our homeschool community!

What happens when organizations become so focused on speed, efficiency, and AI that they slowly lose sight of people? In this thought-provoking conversation, Dr. Kelly Monahan shares insights from her years studying the future of work inside organizations like Deloitte, Accenture, Meta, and Upwork. Drawing from her upcoming book, Reclaim the Plot, Kelly explains how leaders and organizations gradually “drift” away from the human purpose of work, often without realizing it. We explore the pressures leaders face today, including complexity, investor expectations, technological disruption, burnout, and the temptation to prioritize performance over people. Kelly also shares a deeply personal story about recognizing her own leadership drift during the pandemic and the intentional steps she took to reconnect with her team. This conversation offers both a warning and a hopeful vision for leaders who want to strengthen human judgment, curiosity, wisdom, and principled leadership in an AI-driven world. You'll discover:Why leadership drift happens slowly and invisibly inside organizationsHow pressure, complexity, and exhaustion can cause leaders to lose empathy and perspectiveThe difference between using AI to augment people versus replace themPractical ways leaders can rebuild trust, psychological safety, and human connectionWhy curiosity and feedback are essential for avoiding leadership driftConnect with Kelly Monahan on Social MediaLinkedInInstagramWebsites Dr. Kelly Monahan Beyond the Desk BookReclaim the Plot – (release date September 2026)Check out all the episodesLeave a review on Apple PodcastsConnect with Meredith on LinkedIn

How To Start A Rebel Garden Without Overwhelm (Part One of Three)

Your yard doesn't have to be a weekly chore chart disguised as “curb appeal.” If you're tired of mowing, watering, fighting weeds, and feeling boxed in by neighbor expectations, I'm sharing a different path: the rebel garden, a small section of lawn converted into a densely planted garden of helpful native plants. Think one or two parking spots of habitat that can feed birds and pollinators, reduce chemical use, soak up stormwater, and store carbon in roots and soil. This is Part 1 of a three-part series, and we start with the Reclaim phase. I'll help you look at your property like an investigator and identify the spots that quietly waste your time: the muddy drainage area, the crispy strip by the driveway, the fence line that always needs trimming, the steep hill, the sandy corner, or the space nobody ever uses. You'll pick two or three possible locations, outline one with a hose or flags, and “live with it” for a week so the project stops being an idea and starts becoming real. We also use my simple decision filter for sustainable landscaping: eliminate chemicals, feed birds and pollinators, save clean water, and store carbon. You'll choose one clear reason for your garden so every next step gets easier, and you'll hear why waiting for the perfect plan keeps most homeowners stuck. If you want to go deeper, you can build alongside us in the 10-day Rebel Garden Challenge starting June 19th, 2026 at a betteryard.org. Subscribe, share this with a fellow lawn skeptic, and leave a review so more people can reclaim a piece of their yard.

She built the business. Now she's fighting to stop it from taking over her life. Jillian is one of only five female master plumbers in Texas, a working master plumber, business owner, wife, and mother who grew her plumbing company from a single-desk operation into a multi-truck, full-service business. Gas, sewer, water, emergencies, her team can handle it all. But growth came with a cost. Missed calls. Delayed responses. Too many tabs open. Too many fires to put out. Customers were slipping through the cracks, and the pressure was following her home. The truth? Jillian didn't have a demand problem, she had a systems problem. And like so many small business owners, the more successful the company became, the more trapped she felt inside it. In this episode of Dr. Phil's Small Business Playbook, Dr. Phil helps Jillian move from reactive manager to strategic operator, showing how speed-to-response, centralized communication, AI tools, smart scheduling, and better boundaries can help a small business scale without burning out the person who built it. If you're a contractor, plumber, entrepreneur, service-based business owner, or side hustler trying to grow without losing your life in the process, this episode is for you.Learn how to build a business that serves your life, not one that consumes it.Sponsored by HighLevel: If you own a small business, don't skip this. After betrayal, everyone seems to have advice. Leave. Stay. Fight for your marriage. Run. Forgive. Never trust again. But when your nervous system is overwhelmed, it's easy to absorb other people's certainty instead of listening to your own truth. In this episode, Lora explores how betrayal trauma increases suggestibility, why fear spreads so quickly, and how to reclaim your ability to think clearly, trust yourself, and make decisions from wisdom rather than panic. Drawing from her experience as an attorney, clinical hypnotherapist, and betrayal recovery coach, Lora explains why knowledge reduces fear, how hypnosis can help break the trance of trauma, and why discernment—not certainty—is the real path to healing. If you've ever wondered whether you're making decisions based on your own truth or someone else's story, this episode is for you.   Top 3 Takeaways Betrayal Trauma Makes You More Suggestible. When your nervous system is overwhelmed, your brain naturally seeks certainty. That's why it's easy to absorb other people's opinions, fears, and experiences instead of trusting yourself. Discernment Is Different Than Fear. Fear demands immediate answers. Discernment allows reality to reveal itself over time. Healing isn't about becoming hypervigilant—it's about staying connected to yourself while the truth unfolds. Knowledge Creates Calm. Understanding your legal, financial, emotional, and relational options doesn't force a decision. It reduces fear, increases clarity, and helps you make choices from a place of confidence rather than panic.   Favorite Quotes "When we're desperate for certainty, we start borrowing certainty from other people." "Discernment is the ability to stay connected to yourself while reality reveals itself." "Fear shrinks your world. Knowledge expands it." "Healing isn't about becoming fearless. It's about learning how to hear yourself again underneath the noise."   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. Dr. Phil is discussing how predators are using AI technology to create fake sexually explicit images of young women, men, and children, only to share them online for anyone to see. Dr. Phil will speak with Brooke, and her daughter Bekah, who at only 17 years old learned that someone had stolen photos of her off social media, and digitally altered them to create nude pornographic images of her, and post them online. Find out why Bekah has decided to speak publicly about what happened to her for the first time. Plus, Dr. Phil will speak with Anna, and her daughter Elliston, who was only 14 years old when she learned a classmate had created nude images of her and eight of her friends, and then attempted to share them with as many people as possible. Learn how Elliston, along with her mother, Anna, became instrumental in helping get the Take it Down Act recently signed into federal law – a law that protects anyone victimized by non-consensual intimate images shared online.Sponsored by: HighLevel: If you own a small business, don't skip this.
