The Dark Night of the Soul I have talked about the concepts from the Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey numerous times. We have talked about the invitation into initiation and the refusal. Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we have all been thrust over the chasm into the dark night of the soul and disorder. This is the time to address and face our fears. We are not alone. It is part of The Journey.
Lessons from the Wrestling Room: More than the Mat Dalton shares about his vision to resurrect his alumni wrestling program. In two years, the Belvidere Co-Op wrestling went from under .500 to undefeated in dual meets and second in both conference and regional tournaments. Dalton shares about the vision, the leadership team he created and modeled the desire to win. With timing, inspiration and hard work he showed Belvidere what it could be.
Transformation from the Mat Dalton and I have an in-depth conversation about how athletics specifically can be a platform for transformation. He shared how the exercise of setting audacious goals are essential to start the journey of transformation. We discuss the importance of what is learned on the journey is more beneficial then the outcome. If you are a coach or a leader this one is for you!
Returning to the podcast is Kylie Lewis and Dalton Bullard. Kylie was one of the panelists for our most recent event, Artists & Athletes Out of the Ashes, and Dalton is a former Division 1 athlete. In this episode we discuss the topic of using the arts and athletics as a vehicle for transformation and developing resiliency.
What Makes a Champion Dalton joins me in a conversation recapping his first year being the head coach of the Belvidere Co-op wrestling program. Dalton was a 4x All-State wrestler in high school and placed 2nd twice in the state tournament and 2x All- American in college. We discuss how athletics can be a platform in which students can develop character, resiliency and transform their lives. Competing and striving for the win is critical but the journey is what makes a true champion. I always enjoy the opportunity to discuss this topic with Dalton.
#82 My Boyfriend’s Back! We Talk Conflict, Commitment, Communication And More My boyfriend, Dalton Bullard joins me to talk about our relationship and relationships in general. I share a very recent moment of disagreement that led to a heated conversation, which resulted in me crying and how we worked through it. We answer a couple of questions that were asked by women in my Facebook community Happy Healthy Women, and we dive into some interesting ideas such as what commitment truly means, how to hold space for our partners’ healing and growth, the importance of perspective especially during a conflict and so much more. Enjoy! Podcast #3 (Part 1): Dalton Bullard & Kylie Lewis The Warrior and the Princess. I had a greater opportunity during this three-part series to have a conversation with Dalton and Kylie about their journey individually and together. This is must for anybody in a relationship or longs to be in that relationship. It doesn’t have to be perfect because it is a journey. It just has to work for the two individuals to grow and compliment each other. Kylie and Dalton candidly talk about their adventures together as they moved cross country and then returned home. They shared how they grew together and faced fears and embraced victories together. Priceless conversations with a young couple who follow their hearts and go off the well-trodden path. Thanks for listening to the podcast. For more information please check out www.KevinPolky.com

Episode #1 : Dalton Bullard What makes a Warrior? Listen in on my inaugural podcast with conversation with my good friend, Dalton Bullard. Dalton is 4x All-State wrestler who later wrestled at NCAA I and III level. Dalton has taken his gifts and skills to high school level once again as a head coach and founder of the School of Wrestling program. During this conversation, you will hear about the journey of Dalton’s wrestling career, the initial setbacks and later the victories and more importantly the lessons learned along the way. #32 Emotional Intelligence In Relationships With Dalton Bullard My boyfriend, Dalton Bullard, is back for his 3rd time on the podcast. He and I were sitting together, having a beautiful conversation that I felt needed to be shared. I said, “let’s do that again and record it!” Haha. So, bear with us as we get our footing in the start of this conversation. We began trying to re-create the conversation we had just previously had, (which can sometimes be difficult) which resulted in something even better, in my opinion. We discuss the importance of sharing your feelings openly, learning to listen to your emotions as information and not let them rule your life, and much more. At one point, I paused the recording and accidentally missed about 7 minutes of our conversation. This is my first time having a guest on the show and it is none other than my boyfriend, my roommate, my best friend, my coach, my partner in shine, Dalton Bullard. In this episode, Dalton and I briefly reminisce on how we met and how our relationship began. We didn’t have the traditional “honey moon” phase that many new relationships have, and in fact, I would say we’re feeling that now (3 years into our relationship)much more than we did in the beginning. Although a bit unconventional, we have developed a conscious relationship built upon truth, strength & growth. Main points discussed in this episode: •Our beginnings including his perception of me, as well as his reaction to me going on “The Bachelor”. •My healing process and how he coached me through it. •Mental strength and how moving forward is so important. •Integrating honest relationships with our families. •Answered listener questions - Q: How do you handle vibing off of each other’s energy? Q: How do you create balance while living together, sharing a car, & both working from home? Q: How do you two handle the opinions of your families regarding your lifestyle. For more on our relationship’s rocky start read my blog post - https://www.kyliemlewis.com/accidentally-in-love/
