And we look ahead to a three game home series versus a struggling Kansas City Royals squad.
Thanks to our Partners, NAPA Auto Care and NAPA TRACS Watch Full Video Episode How are automotive technicians learning today, and who is investing in their future? Matt Shepanek, President of the ASE Training Managers Council (ATMC), discusses the findings of the 2026 ATMC Benchmark Survey. The survey offers valuable insight into technician education, training preferences, emerging technologies, and the industry's commitment to continuous learning. The conversation highlights significant differences between dealerships and independent repair shops, reveals what technicians most want to learn, and reinforces why ongoing professional development remains essential in an era of rapidly advancing vehicle technology. What You'll Learn How dealerships continue to lead the way in training investment, paying for technician education 85% of the time, while many independent technicians still share the cost or pay out of pocket. Why Hybrid/EV systems and Electrical/Electronics training top the list of requested subjects as vehicle technology continues to evolve. What the survey reveals about technician learning preferences and why hands-on, instructor-led training remains the gold standard despite the growth of online education. The wide gap in annual training hours, from technicians receiving no structured education to others completing more than 56 hours each year. Why continuous learning has become a business necessity, not an option, for shops hoping to remain competitive and profitable. The 2026 ATMC Benchmark Survey reinforces a simple truth: the future belongs to technicians and shops that embrace lifelong learning. As vehicles become increasingly dependent on advanced electrical systems, software, hybrid technology, and diagnostics, professional development is no longer a luxury. Shops that invest in training, provide access to relevant education, and foster a culture of continuous improvement will be better positioned to attract talent, improve performance, and thrive in a rapidly changing automotive landscape.

There's a conversation many of us don't want to have—but it's often the very thing standing between us and the next level God has for us. In this episode, I'm talking about confrontation—not just confronting difficult situations or people, but confronting the beliefs, fears, and patterns inside of ourselves that keep us stuck. Because what I've found is that the things we avoid in our personal lives often show up in our business, leadership, relationships, and the way we use our voice. This is a real and honest conversation about courage, growth, and learning to trust the voice God has given you. In this episode, you'll discover: Why avoiding confrontation may be limiting your growth in business and life How hidden fears of rejection, criticism, and misunderstanding affect your confidence The difference between finding your voice and learning to trust your voice Why God often uses business as a discipleship tool for Christian personal development How confronting what's happening internally creates breakthroughs externally The role courage plays in leadership, relationships, and fulfilling your calling If you've been feeling stuck, hesitant to speak up, or sensing that God is inviting you into a new level of growth, this episode will challenge and encourage you. Because sometimes the breakthrough you're praying for isn't found in avoiding the hard conversation—it's found in having it. Take a moment to listen, reflect, and ask God what He may be inviting you to confront in this season. And if this episode resonates with you, share it with a friend or leave a review. Thanks to our Partners, Pico Technology, and AutelWatch Full Video EpisodeIn this episode, Matt Fanslow continues the conversation around game theory and economics in the automotive repair industry, focusing on one of the biggest invisible forces affecting customer trust: information asymmetry.Auto repair is a credence good service, meaning most customers cannot fully judge the quality of the work before, during, or even after the repair. A grinding brake noise may disappear after a $200 backyard brake job or a $500 professional repair, but the customer may not be able to tell whether the work was safe, complete, or performed to a professional standard. That gap between what the shop knows and what the customer can reasonably know creates distrust by default.Matt connects this to economist George Akerlof's “Market for Lemons,” originally applied to the used-car market, and explains how the same logic applies directly to auto repair. When customers cannot reliably distinguish quality from poor work, lower-quality providers can drag down trust in the entire market. The episode then turns toward solutions: better documentation, digital vehicle inspections, before-and-after photos or videos, service information references, and clearer explanations that help narrow the information gap without trying to turn every customer into a technician. The goal is not to overwhelm customers with technical data. The goal is to give them enough context to understand what was found, why it matters, and why the repair has value.Matt also discusses how YouTube, forums, and large language models can complicate trust by giving customers information that may be incomplete, misunderstood, or flat-out wrong. Shops now have to compete not just with other shops, but with customer fear, confirmation bias, and online explanations that may reinforce distrust.Key TopicsInformation asymmetry in automotive repairAuto repair as a credence good serviceWhy customers often distrust repair recommendationsGeorge Akerlof and “The Market for Lemons”How poor-quality providers affect trust in good shopsThe role of digital vehicle inspectionsBefore-and-after documentation as trust-buildingUsing service information to demonstrate valueThe impact of YouTube, forums, and AI tools on customer expectationsWhy economic and game theory language matters in shop managementEpisode HighlightsMatt explains that customers often cannot tell the difference between a good repair and a poor repair if the obvious symptom goes away. That makes trust harder to earn and easier to lose.He uses the brake job example to show how two repairs can appear identical to a customer even when one is much safer, more complete, and more professional than the other. The “Market for Lemons” idea is used to explain how low-quality or deceptive providers can create distrust that affects the entire profession. The episode stresses that documentation is not just paperwork. Photos, videos, voltage readings, service information, and before-and-after evidence are part of how shops demonstrate value.Matt argues that shops need to use economic and game theory terms because many of the answers to shop problems already exist in those fields. Without the right language, it becomes harder to find or explain the solution.Notable Quote“We're insulating ourselves from a market for lemons.”Practical Takeaways for ShopsUse digital vehicle inspections to show customers what is good, what is bad, and why it matters.Do not assume the customer understands the significance of a test result. Explain the before and after in plain terms.Show comparisons when possible: good versus bad, before versus after, failed versus repaired.Reference manufacturer service information when it helps explain why the job requires certain steps.Recognize that customers may arrive with fear, skepticism, or bad information before you ever speak to them.Trust is not built only by being honest. It is built by making honest work visible and understandable. Thanks to our Partner, Pico TechnologyAre you chasing elusive automotive problems? What if the thing standing between you and everything you want isn't effort — it's a lie you've been telling yourself so long it sounds like logic? In this episode, Jay Moore gets real about intention — what it actually means, why most people's intentions never become results, and how a hidden lie is quietly running the show in your health, your money, and your life. From 1,000 push-ups to Twizzlers to a money problem that showed up through the people closest to him, Jay traces everything back to one root: find the lie, find the freedom.

Thanks to our Partners, NAPA Auto Care and NAPA TRACS Watch Full Video Episode Carm Capriotto sits down with Todd Fortier, retiring automotive professor and program coordinator from Illinois Central College, to discuss a lesson learned over three decades in education: anyone can teach, but becoming a true educator requires purpose, empathy, and continuous growth. Todd shares how his passion for education was sparked by helping students experience those breakthrough "lightbulb moments" and why the ultimate goal of teaching is not simply delivering information, but ensuring meaningful knowledge transfer. As he prepares for retirement, Todd reflects on the challenges facing automotive education and his mission to help develop the next generation of industry instructors. What You'll Learn Why technical expertise alone doesn't make someone an effective instructorHow educators can improve knowledge transfer and student engagementTodd's "Three C's" framework: Concern, Cause, and CorrectionWhy connection, empathy, and vulnerability are critical teaching toolsHow to identify the root causes behind student disengagementThe importance of recognizing the personal challenges students bring into the classroomWhy many students leave training programs early and how educators can help retain themHow trainers and mentors can evolve into true educatorsThe soft skills needed to successfully connect with today's students and technicians The best educators do more than share information, they build relationships. Todd Fortier's career demonstrates that teaching is most effective when instructors combine technical knowledge with empathy, curiosity, and genuine human connection. As the automotive industry works to address technician shortages and workforce development challenges, creating better educators may be one of the most important investments the industry can make. What if the biggest thing standing between you and your next level of success isn't strategy — it's subconscious programming? In this episode, I sit down with Suzanne Longstreet, Master Coach, NLP Trainer, Master Hypnotherapist, and creator of the Quantum YOU Activation, to explore how hidden beliefs, emotional patterns, and nervous system responses can influence every area of our lives and businesses.Suzanne shares how past experiences shape our current decisions, why traditional mindset work often falls short, and how deeper subconscious rewiring can create lasting transformation. We talk about visibility, confidence, self-worth, money blocks, and the surprising ways our brains try to keep us "safe" by repeating familiar patterns. We also discuss how intuition becomes stronger when we clear emotional clutter, why resistance often appears right before growth, and what becomes possible when we stop operating from survival mode. This conversation is a powerful reminder that the external results we want often begin with internal healing.Connect with Suzanne:- Website: https://www.successandclarity.com/- LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/suzanneglongstreet/https://www.linkedin.com/company/success-&-clarity- Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/successandclarityhttps://www.instagram.com/suzanneglongstreet/- Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/successandclarity- YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@suzannelongstreet1174If this episode resonated with you, share it with someone who's ready for their next level of growth! Thanks to our Partners, Pico Technology, and AutelWatch Full Video EpisodeIn this episode, Matt starts on the golf course and ends up right back in the service bay, because apparently, even a decent round of golf can turn into a cognitive psychology lesson. After shooting a personally strong nine-hole score, Matt catches himself doing what many technical and mechanical specialists do every day: ignoring the accomplishment and obsessing over the shots, tests, tools, or decisions that could have been better. That leads into a discussion of discounting the positive, upward counterfactual thinking, hindsight bias, expert bias, and the curse of knowledge. The point is not to stop improving. The point is to stop rewriting reality after the fact. A two-hour intermittent short diagnosis may feel “obvious” once the problem is found, but it was not obvious when the vehicle came in. The same applies to repairs, removals, procedures, and every job where experience only becomes obvious after you earn it.Matt also closes with some listener-driven Mount Rushmore talk, including an all-time basketball starting five featuring Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, LeBron James, and Hakeem Olajuwon.Key TopicsWhy a good result can still feel disappointing when you focus only on what could have gone betterThe difference between honest reflection and beating yourself into the groundDiscounting the positive and how it shows up in diagnosticsUpward counterfactual thinking: “If only I had done this sooner…”Hindsight bias in the shop after the failure is already foundWhy “that was obvious” is usually only true after the factHow technical specialists can learn from a job without erasing the accomplishmentThe danger of judging another specialist's time after you already know the answerExpert bias, the curse of knowledge, and why experience can distort how we evaluate othersGiving yourself enough credit while still getting betterListener messages and future Mount Rushmore-style segmentsMatt's all-time basketball starting five discussionPull Quote Options“Once you know where the problem was, it starts feeling obvious. You're doing everything right — and it still feels like nothing is working. So what's missing? In this episode, Jay Moore goes deep into Philippians 4 and unpacks six practical, biblically grounded ways to have real peace even when life is being turned upside down. This isn't a theology lecture. It's a real conversation about your anxiety, your ambition, your relationships, and the gap between where you are and where you feel like you should be.What you'll take away:Why the most misquoted verse in the Bible (Philippians 4:13) has been robbing you of its real powerHow unresolved conflict blocks your faith — and what actual reconciliation looks like in business and in lifeWhy contentment isn't something anyone can give you — and how Paul learned it from a prison cellPaul wrote one of the most joyful letters in scripture while in chains. If he could learn peace in that season, it's available to you in yours. Don't skip this one.

Republicans never defend Trump's corruption on the merits. Their lot in life is just to serve up anti-moral excuses for his repeated acts of immorality. And the Dems are currently in a bit of a moral dilemma of their own over the latest Platner revelations, given the moral imperative of having a Senate that obstructs Trump's worst policies. Questions of morality also surface with AI, particularly if we allow machines to do the thinking for us. Thanks to our Partners, NAPA Auto Care and NAPA TRACS Watch Full Video Episode Host Carm Capriotto welcomes Chris Lawson, founder of Technician Find, to discuss one of the biggest challenges facing independent auto repair shops today: finding and keeping great technicians. Chris explains why many shop owners fall into what he calls "fire alarm syndrome," waiting until a technician leaves before starting the hiring process. That reactive approach often leads to rushed decisions, poor hires, and ongoing turnover. Instead, he advocates for an "Always Be Recruiting" mindset, where shops continuously build relationships with potential candidates long before they have an opening. The conversation explores practical strategies for becoming a destination workplace, creating a recruiting pipeline, and building a culture that attracts top talent in a competitive market. What You'll Learn Why reactive hiring creates costly staffing problemsHow to build a bench of pre-qualified technicians before you need themWhy becoming "10-mile famous" can help attract both technicians and customersHow culture-focused marketing can outperform traditional help-wanted adsThe three things technicians value most: respect, growth, and compensationWhy sign-on bonuses often fail and how to structure them more effectivelyPractical ways to engage passive candidates who are not actively job huntingResources available through Chris Lawson's free online community for shop owners The best time to recruit a technician is before you need one. Shops that continuously market their culture, build relationships with local talent, and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates are better positioned to grow, avoid staffing emergencies, and create a workplace where top technicians want to stay. Recruiting is no longer an occasional task. It is an ongoing business strategy. Chris Lawson, TechnicianFind.Com Love your shop? Stay, but stay ready. Leverage Your Incredible Factor Business Podcast with Darnyelle Jervey Harmon, MBA
This is the 7th and final part of the Pruning Season Series. This episode is powered by The Ascension Archetype Quiz. “If you do not prune on purpose, you will be pruned by force.” — Dr. Darnyelle Jervey Harmon Everyone is asking what they should add to grow their business this year. A new offer. A new funnel. A new hire. A new strategy. But the CEOs who actually scale don't ask what to add. They ask what to remove. Because growth doesn't come from doing more. It comes from carrying less. And if you're still measuring your next level by what you can build instead of what you're willing to release, you are setting yourself up for a forced pruning season that will cost you more than it ever should. This episode is the line in the sand. Because from this point forward, you don't wait to be pruned. You lead it. If you are a six- or seven-figure CEO who has been carrying more than your next level requires, this episode will show you exactly how to stop. In the final episode of the Pruning Season series, Dr. Darnyelle delivers a powerful CEO protocol to help you audit your business, your leadership, and your identity so you can scale with alignment instead of exhaustion. We explore strategic pruning, business audits, leadership discipline, CEO identity evolution, team alignment, client alignment, and how to protect your capacity so your revenue, peace, and purpose can grow together. Here's the truth: most CEOs don't grow because they don't know what to do. They don't grow because they refuse to let go of what no longer fits. And what you refuse to release will eventually be removed for you. You'll walk away with a complete pruning protocol you can implement immediately, including five critical audits that will help you identify what stays, what goes, and what needs to transition so you can move into your next level with clarity, capacity, and confidence. Grab your Move to Millions Podcast Notebook, a pen and your favorite beverage and listen in to discover: ✔ How to audit your offers, clients, and team to identify what is draining your growth ✔ How to build a pruning rhythm into your leadership so you avoid forced breakdowns ✔ How to align your identity with your next level so your business can actually sustain it ✔And so much more This episode is a call to stop leading reactively and start leading with intentional discipline. To become the CEO who evaluates before the breakdown, releases before the burnout, and aligns before the revenue forces the issue. This is your invitation to take back control of your leadership by building pruning into your rhythm. Not when it hurts. Not when things fall apart. But because you have decided that your next level deserves space before it arrives. You can be great on calls and still be falling apart at home. That tension is what drove this conversation with Fernando Benitez, a Engineer Paramedic and the founder of Next Level Dad Fitness, a coaching program built for firefighter dads who want their strength, body, and mind back without turning life into another complicated project. We talk about the real goal most of us quietly want: waking up with energy, feeling proud again, and having something left to give when we walk through the front door. We get into the unglamorous stuff that actually moves the needle for first responder health: sleep deprivation, recovery as you hit your late 30s and 40s, inflammation from bad food choices, and the way chronic stress drives cortisol through the roof. Fernando explains how he starts with an assessment of habits, not just workouts, because shift work and life load punish overly detailed plans. The focus stays on simple systems you can follow daily so your fitness supports your job and your family, instead of stealing from both. Then we go deeper into identity and mental health. We talk about coming home as “cranky dad,” the pressure to be tough, and why raising your hand for therapy or counseling is strength, not weakness. Faith also plays a big role in this story, with scripture as an anchor against anxiety and shame and a reminder that you don't have to carry everything alone. We wrap with some lighter rapid-fire questions, but the takeaway sticks: fill your own cup so you can serve better. If this hits home, subscribe, share it with a firefighter dad who needs it, and leave a review so more first responders can find the show. Thanks for taking the time to listen in. Please leave us 5 stars on Spotify & Apple Podcasts with a review. THANK YOU!
