In this season of Talking Home Renovations with the House Maven we are going to take it to the next level. Using my new (old) house as a renovation case study, we will be looking at renewing noteworthy homes with the future in mind. Old friends will be joining us again, stay tuned!
There's a change coming! And you might have noticed it.. We have officially changed our podcast name. And it has been a really exciting iteration for a variety of different reasons, but mainly that I wanted a podcast that was more accurately reflective of the type of work that I am now doing with clients. Scale with Joy was very much a great message when I had a client base that was struggling with overwhelm, struggling with the idea of how to get more joy back in their businesses and lives. And while I still think that is a very valid concern of many of you who are listening, I'm also starting to work with some incubators, some nonprofits. I'm also starting to help consultants become better consultants or get their first consulting offer built and sold. And so, as a result, I wanted a name that would more comprehensively depicts the type of work that I do across different platforms and reflects the actual model that I use in my business. That's what I'm going to be sharing with you today in this next episode of the Next Level Leap podcast.
I don't know about you, but I don't want my entire life to revolve around my business. As time goes on, I'm more and more interested in having a better quality of life by creating a balance between the work I do and my other passions. To tell you how to achieve this balance, I'm doing something different with this episode. I'm tag-teaming with my coach, James Wedmore, to share some amazing advice about how you can make more money while working less. About James Wedmore James Wedmore was born and raised in sunny Laguna Beach, CA and now resides and runs his business in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, AZ. For the last 15 years, James has leveraged his expertise to help teach Digital CEOs how to build and scale their online businesses through courses and trainings like his signature program, Business By Design, other programs such as Sales Page By Design, and Nail Your Niche, as well as many other business-building trainings inside of James' abundant course library. Along with being notorious in the online space for his unrivaled online courses and content, James also facilitates Next Level, a strategic, group-coaching experience as well as his high-level Mastermind, The Performance Mastermind. When James isn't working, he can be found hiking, flipping homes for Airbnb, or off-roading through the rocky terrain of Sedona. His motto is simple: Work hard, play harder! Free Yourself From the Time-Money Paradigm As this episode starts off, James describes the lessons he's learned since starting his business. At the heart of making more while working less is freeing yourself from what he calls “the employee mindset” where we connect earnings with time spent working. This comes down to thinking strategically about how you earn money. Central to this is the creation of leveraged offers. These are scalable offers that do not rely on the number of people who buy them from you. Online courses, memberships, and digital products can all be these types of offers. Once your offer is in place, an automated system to get it in front of many people should be in place. If you don't have a way for thousands of people to see it all at once, you don't have a way to make it work for you without spending lots of time on it. Both the offer and the sales process must be leveraged and scalable. Changing the Way You Think About Time and Money In the second half of this episode, I join you to discuss my take on breaking the time-money connection and how I do it in my business. I think about doing this in two different ways. First, there's looking at the actual structure in your business that either support or breaks this connection. This is where putting those scalable processes in place will help. It also comes down to shifting your understanding that more hours at work equals more earnings. This is something I regularly work on. It's an ongoing process for sure, but something that is essential for any successful entrepreneur. What's something that you've been putting off in your business that will help you make more and/or work less? Leave a comment on the episode page! In This Episode Freeing yourself from the employee-time paradigm [7:45] Being strategic by creating leveraged offers [16:00] Why you need premium pricing and lifetime customers [18:35] Addressing your limiting beliefs around the time-money connection [30:30] Combining premium pricing with leveraged offers as you grow your business [34:15] Freeing up your time through delegating tasks and responsibilities and repurposing content [39:35] Quotes “If you are an entrepreneur, you must once and for all shed the identity of the employee paradigm and step into the world of entrepreneurship.” [9:12] “When your prices are higher for a leveraged and scalable product, you're going to make more by working less.” [20:30] “What I've found is when you are very intentional, what you will find is that when you do less, you end up making more.” [27:52] Review Fed and Fearless on Apple Podcasts! For this episode Joanne Muturi invited former Lawyer turned Property Investor, Sanchia Miller who helps entrepreneurs get started and scale in property to reveal how she made the leap from corporate to entrepreneur and how you can too. Desire is the idea of wanting something no matter what; to desire things in life is a natural aspect of human beings, but you might be frustrated if you don't get the thing that you desire. It almost has a ‘needy' connotation to it. Intention, on the other hand, suggests a more confident state; you know what you want and the path to get there, but you understand that if it doesn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade proposes a reflection on these two topics. If guided by desire, a person can feel harmed and bothered more often by the twists and turns of life, whereas people guided by intention see themselves as co-creators of their lives and engage with daily situations with ease. As stated in the episode: “The worst thing that ever happened to you could actually be the best thing”. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! When today's guest started doing research on the portfolios of billionaires, he discussed something pretty shocking…He discovered the vast majority of ultra-wealthy and institutional investors have more than 50% of their wealth in private equity and private real estate while most of the rest of the population has 95%-100% of their investments in public paper assets, mostly stocks. With the amount of attention the stock market gets in the news and even in TV commercials, this is not a surprise. However, most people don't realize that real estate is not only reserved for billionaires anymore and there are many ways for you to get involved, such as investing with private fund managers like Aspen Funds!Ben Fraser is one of the hosts of the Invest Like a Billionaire podcast, where he is dedicated to educating investors on how they can model their portfolios after the most successful people of our time. Daniel Smith enjoyed healthy snacks while studying at school. He loved flavored almonds - but what a mess! I’m sure you are familiar with that salty, greasy hand scenario when you finish off a package of Blue Diamond nuts, for instance. That’s how his idea for infused almonds came about. As founder and CEO of Recipe 33, Daniel set out to innovate a largely stagnant category. Through a unique, slow, craft process, Recipe 33 infuses nuts with flavors like black truffle, smoky serrano, cinnamon vanilla, and lemon rosemary. The infused almonds are not just a great source of protein, but perfect to enjoy while using your computer, phone, or tablet, reading a good book or magazine, or playing your guitar or video game. In today’s episode, I speak with Daniel about the recent Natural Products Expo show, his process for development at Recipe 33 and his marketing, distribution, and plans for the future. The “NexxtLevel Brands Podcast’ is hosted by G. Steven Cleere, Founder and “Chief Pot Stirrer” of NexxtLevel Brands. This show focuses on disruptors and thought-leaders from the Entrepreneurial Food, Beverage, and CPG Industry, but we also share tips from veterans and key suppliers that may help fellow CPG professionals achieve their goals. Discussion Points What are “infused” nuts? Did you plan to develop this product or did you look for space in the market? Recipe 33’s unique flavors are not meant to compete with huge players like Blue Diamond The unique flavors may need some introduction to consumers, how did you work through the pandemic without demos? Differences in Daniel’s business plan vs. reality What did you look at for distribution options? Recipe 33 future plans– new nuts, flavors, and functional snacks Business functions that Daniel outsourced as a solopreneur Daniel’s success being a “local” producer Expo west had an incredible turnout, 57K attendees? Did you see anything super innovative? Words to grow by: Discipline, focus, and put yourself in uncomfortable positions, don’t get complacent. Sonja Price did not know what she wanted to be when she grew up, yet she was always a curious person who enjoyed learning new things. When the time came to attend college she studied psychology because she was interested in people. Then Sonja transferred to a school in Tennessee and studied music management. A variety of interests and seven transfers followed in which she studied, architecture, photography, and video. Sonja began creating documentary films and started to think about pursuing it as a career. She was about three-quarters on her way toward earning her bachelor's degree and was considering her next steps. As much as she loved filmmaking, Sonja had to face the reality that she had no solid plan for making money to support herself. Rather than just finish college without a plan, Sonja decided to take a ‘professional break'. She got a job working for a tech start-up and this opportunity opened her up to a whole new world. She stayed there for five years and learned more than she could ever imagine as she was able to fill a variety of roles there as the company's needs changed rapidly. From there, she went to work for a larger company doing usability engineering and product testing. Within those years, Sonja completed her undergraduate degree and earned a master's degree in leadership and organizational development as she was fascinated by the dynamics of people within the workplace. Sonja has since worked in several industries, including management consulting. All these professional experiences culminated in her decision to become a career coach. “I just like to see life as this very exciting adventure. And that's constantly this evolutionary process of what's the growth path in front of me right now? What are the skills that I can be working on? What's the next thing for me? What do I want to be working towards? We found through research that when you have something out on the horizon to look forward to, that actually can help create a greater sense of happiness and satisfaction in your life.” Today, Sonja is the Chief Career Strategist and Founder of Dynamo Careers. She is passionate about empowering people to become financially free, achieve every item on their bucket list, and make a positive impact on the topics that matter most to them. In this week's Work From The Inside Out podcast, learn more about Sonja's journey: Sonja has worked with a wide range of clients including Amazon, AT&T, Microsoft, Nordstrom, Starbucks, and a number of growing start-up organizations. She is a Certified Career and Executive Coach. Learn more and connect with Sonja here: https://dynamocareers.com/

Welcome to Episode #443 with Dave Zohrob, Co-Founder of Chartable, the leading podcast analytics and attribution service. During this episode, we talk about all about podcasting and discuss why you need to have a podcast for your brand. Here are some highlights: Good work takes time and through time, you get better at it. If you're looking to build a business, the most important thing is solving important problems for customers. If it doesn't solve their problems, then it doesn't matter. For a startup, everything takes longer to grow. Don't be impatient. There is so much to learn and so much to improve overtime. Start and continue working on. Podcast is a way of going deep with someone. It's another way to connect with an audience in times where you might not be able to reach them otherwise. Just like with every other type of media, podcasts are no different. We have to work to make sure that people are aware of what we're doing and that's the exciting creative journey to it. It's not about how many impressions you're getting, it's about engagement. It's about who you're reaching and how much time they're spending with you. That's going to drive impact versus just pageviews. In celebration of Screw It Just Do It's 5th Birthday Anniversary, Alex will be launching the Podcast Launch Challenge. It's a Done-With-You solution in launching or relaunching your podcast! Full details will be released on May 16th. Registration is only up to May 23rd. This week on the Brit Lashae Speaks Podcast, I will be talking about how your next level requires order, and how it is important to not rush the hiding time. From experience I know how important it is to make sure that things are in order, and that we are not just jumping all over the place to elevate quicker than we are supposed to. In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade gives a thorough overview on the process of building muscle while burning fat. This process is doable – research says – but it's important to know the right way and most importantly: the right variables. The concept of Body Recomposition is different from going through separate ‘phases' of building muscle and losing fat, commonly known as ‘bulking' and ‘cutting'. Dr. Jade also explains that it will be easier for beginners to do this, simply because they haven't been exercising and dieting for too long. A more experienced person who wants to build muscle at the same time as losing fat is going to struggle a little bit more. You will also learn the connection between this process and macronutrient intake, macronutrient ratios, and different diet modalities such as veganism and keto. How do you get started in real estate? What is that process? What can you do to scale and grow your own portfolio or take it to the next level? Do you already have a few single-family properties, but want to get involved in multifamily investing? Today, Clint Coons of Anderson Business Advisors talks to Abel Pacheco, President and Principal of 5 Talents Capital, who loves investing in and owning multifamily properties in Texas. Abel is a real estate entrepreneur with a proven track record of repositioning properties and delivering quality renovated housing products to market and consistent returns to investment partners. He has experience in acquiring distressed properties, handling renovations, raising private capital, and managing single and multifamily investment properties. Highlights/Topics: 5 Talents Capital: Abel buys apartment buildings and allows people that don't have much time available to invest in commercial multifamily real estate via syndications. Cash Flow Positive: Don't overlook the amount of time that you have available for side hustles and to make more money. Education and Knowledge: Learn about wholesaling, seller financing, hard money loans, and finding motivated sellers for free from conferences, YouTube, and Google. Knowledge: After educating yourself on different ways to invest, it takes mental and tactical shifting to find properties. Networking: Unlock your mindset. You don't have to do everything yourself. You don't have to know everything. You just have to partner with people that are experts. Create Luck: It's where planning meets opportunity. Then, when that opportunity is there and you plan for it, you better be ready to take action and be willing to move forward. In multifamily, net worth equates to the size of the loan amount, equity enough to buy the deal, general partners need their own money for a deal. You have to have experience. Where to Find Deals: Off- and on-market. In commercial real estate, almost all the deals actually trade through brokers.
