The civil war erupts as the action goes down at the Dead Dog Farm and Windom earle makes a move. We make a move of our own by welcoming New York Times Bestselling author Rob Reid, of the... Read More
Episode 13 has Mark and Becky talk about the Dick and Andy Show (again), James’s 12 dollars, a hostage situation at Dead Dog Farm, some riffing on Jason and horror movies generally, and we get subtle hints about just what a genius Windom Earle is. And we ain’t whistling Dixie. Link to all Twin Peaks […]
Cooper plots a ruse, Dick & Andy hunt for clues, Ben seems quite confused, and the station blows a fuse in this week's episode of Twin Peaks. The sting operation up at Dead Dog Farm gets put into motion and goes spectacularly awry owing to a quirk of nervous physiology. After several hours, hostage negotiations come to a head with some quick thinking by Denise and Cooper that leaves one of the drug dealers dead; Cooper, meanwhile, has to grapple with the fear and insecurity that, maybe, his presence in Twin Peaks has brought a nightmare to town... Also: Ben goes to Gettysburg! Ed and Norma make it official! Leo acts like a clown! James and Evelyn...do stuff?...honestly we don't even remember. And it's lights out at the Sheriff's Station--and who's that guy in Truman's office???
Wherein a widow is made, a battle plan laid, and a secret drug deal betrayed! Cooper decides to go all in and purchase some real estate in town, but all is not what it seems at Dead Dog Farm. Bobby Briggs inadvertently helps Audrey to clear Cooper's name when the photos he's taken of Hank Jennings for Ben Horne wind up proving that the drug charges against Coop have been trumped up. Meanwhile, Windom Earle has predicted Cooper's opening chess move perfectly, further underscoring the brilliance and danger of his opponent. Major Briggs also makes a momentous return in his family living room after a strange and unexplained absence... Also: Nadine goes a-rasslin'! Lana bewitches the Sheriff's department! Molly Shannon is here! And James and Evelyn...well the less said about them, the better!
The Who Killed Laura Podcast Ep 19 - Persistent Random Misfortune Welcome back to another episode of the podcast with Scott and Chris. This episode looks at “The Black Widow” from 1/12/91, written by Harley Peyton and Robert Engels and directed by Caleb Deschanel, all very familiar with Frost's and Lynch's vision by now, and great contributors to it. Ben Horne is continuing to lose his mind, while Dougie Milford loses his life mid-coitus with his beautiful, maybe cursed, bride. She's got such an effect on men that even stoic Deputy Hawk is literally falling for her. The Little Nicky subplot continues, and we realize why he's named Nicky: he's the Devil! Or at least Dick Tremayne thinks so, and he gets Andy believing it, too. See, Nicky's parents died under mysterious circumstances. We see a young Molly Shannon playing it relatively straight as an employee of the Happy Helping Hands adoption agency. Nadine, still thinking she's a teen high school girl, has a crush on Mike. Air Force Colonel Riley is looking into Major Briggs' disappearance and fills in Cooper and Truman on Briggs and a little on the White Lodge.Catherine and Pete have dinner and she gets him used to the idea that Josie is their maid and that she's culpable in Andrew's death. Cooper gets another newspaper chess move from archenemy Windom Earle, as well as a career-and-maybe-life-saving bit of evidence from Audrey Horne showing that he's being framed for the cocaine trafficking, and that it's going down at Dead Dog Farm. Ed and Norma decide it's finally time to act on their desires, and Hank suspects. DEA Agent Denise turns Ernie to try to nail Jean Renault. James gets closer to Evelyn. The Black Widow silences her harshest critic, the mayor, and Briggs comes home, having lost two days. Lots happening in this episode. Not all storylines are great, which is a common complaint about Season Two, but this one moves pretty well and at least a couple of these stories are coming to a close soon. Also, we promised to add some information the eponymous Black widow or as Scott refers to her, “The little red-haired girl”. Imbued with the power to make men swoon, the character was played by actress Robin Lively, half-sister to Blake Lively. She has been a working actress since she was 6 years old with notable film roles including, Teen Witch, Karate Kid III and many guest starring roles on television show from Punky Brewster to the Drew Carey Show up to the current season and even a few lead roles such as the night time soap opera Savannah and the Rush Hour TV adaptation. As Drex is on vacation this week, it's just the three guys, Stevil, DemiGod Rob and Dustin as they continue into the final dozen episodes of Twin Peaks second season. The dreaded "James The Runaway" is almost nearing it's conclusion, Audrey is back on the scene and we creep closer and closer to Windom Earle. It's a significantly better episode to talk about this week on the podcast. An unfortunate death happens again in Twin Peaks leading to a seemingly outlandish accusation. The Little Nicky versus Dick Tremayne story continues as Dick gets some new information on his little buddy's past. Coop is looking at getting some property at Dead Dog Farm and Pete delivers the beginning of a limerick that we would like you, the audience to finish for us. We will read them out on the podcast in two weeks! So dig in to this next episode of our Twin Peaks companion podcast and send questions and comments to us on Twitter as well!
