Theo kicks things off with fireworks — Ja'Marr Chase sets a new all-time targets record and locks in back-to-back WR1 overall seasons, while Derrick Henry roars back with 11 second-half touchdowns to tie Marcus Allen on the all-time list. Travis Hunter keeps shocking the world, outscoring BTJ and averaging 15 PPG the rest of the way, and Christian Watson's Week 9 explosion cements him as a league-winning waiver pickup. Theo also forecasts a Tennessee two-for-one with Chim Dike and Tyjae Spears both becoming fantasy starters — plus a wild bonus prediction that Steve Sarkisian lands the Titans' head coaching job. Coop fires back with his own slate of spicy takes: Kenneth Walker reclaims RB1 status as Seattle finally unleashes him, Marvin Harrison Jr. goes nuclear against Dallas to prove he's elite, and a tight end named Elijah becomes the next breakout fantasy hero. He's also calling JJ McCarthy's rise to fantasy relevance and a full-blown Kyle Pitts resurgence — part of what he says could be the best fantasy tight end class ever.

Would you like access to our advanced agency training for FREE? https://www.agencymastery360.com/training How are the new technologies and tools shaping the future of agencies? How can you create an agency that outlasts trends? When you've been around for 75 years in the ad world, you've seen it all, from Mad Men, media buying by fax, the rise of the internet, and now, AI. Today's featured guest runs an agency that has been doing full-service marketing since 1950. What's impressive isn't just their longevity but also how they've stayed relevant and human in a business that changes faster than a TikTok trend. Jennifer Spire is the CEO of Preston Spire, an independent Minneapolis-based creative agency that's been helping brands grow with full-service marketing since 1950. She's the agency's fourth CEO, starting in small independent agencies, rising through global holding companies, and bringing both worlds' lessons to how she leads today. That mix of experiences shaped her leadership style grounded in independence, driven by creativity, and fiercely protective of agency culture. In this episode, we'll discuss: Building a culture that lasts seven decades and beyond. Why independence still matters in the agency world. The future of agency talent and AI. Subscribe Apple | Spotify | iHeart Radio Sponsors and Resources E2M Solutions: Today's episode of the Smart Agency Masterclass is sponsored by E2M Solutions, a web design, and development agency that has provided white-label services for the past 10 years to agencies all over the world. How One Agency Has Stayed Relevant for 75 Years Preston Spire started as a design shop in 1950 and quickly grew to a full service advertising agency, which differs from what we think of as full service today. Over the decades, it's evolved continuously, reinventing itself with every shift in marketing. Jennifer says the real secret to their longevity is adaptability. "It's really hard to continue to evolve and stay strong, but I think there's a lot to be said for an agency that can evolve and still grow while being relevant." Now they're 25 years away from a century, which is both impressive and humbling, as well as something they want to highlight more. Surprisingly, some advisors have actually told Jennifer it'd be best to not mention their 75-year run, since some might assume a 75-year-old agency should be bigger by now. However, Jennifer has a different perspective. For her, you don't have to be one of the biggest agencies to be better and longevity isn't a weakness but rather proof of resilience and reinvention. From Big Agency Bureaucracy to Small Agency Freedom Before joining Press Inspire, Jennifer spent years inside the machine of large agencies, where shareholder-driven decisions often overshadowed what's best for clients or teams. There, she learned that you don't have to be bigger to be better, a philosophy that now fuels how she runs Press Inspire, as she has chosen to keep it small enough to stay personal but strong enough to compete with anyone. Once she left the big-agency world for an independent shop, Jennifer cut her teeth doing everything from answering phones, assisting on shoots, starting media departments, and running PR. That early experience taught her the one skill every agency leader needs — resourcefulness — something she now encourages young people to develop early in their careers. Her time at big agencies, though, showed her what not to do. "You end up making decisions that are best for shareholders, not clients," she said. "At a smaller agency, I wanted everyone to be able to chart their own path and make decisions that serve both the client and the team." Building an Agency Culture Keeps People for Deacades People stay for decades at Preston, some for 37 years, others 30, and three just recently celebrated 25-year anniversaries. That kind of loyalty is nearly unheard of in today's agency churn cycle. So what's the secret? Balance. Jennifer encourages collaboration between long-time employees and newer hires with fresh perspectives. The agency operates in a hybrid setup, with three days in-office to keep creativity flowing while maintaining flexibility. It's a rhythm that keeps collaboration alive without burning people out. "Being together helps," she said. "That human connection is something you can't replicate over Zoom." Their internal compass is guided by what they call COOP values: Courage, Originality, Openness, and Positivity. The team is encouraged to take risks, fail fast, learn, and keep moving forward. Leading with Clarity: Building Alignment and Growth Paths Jennifer may be CEO, but being at a smaller agency she's not above the grind. She manages operations, oversees HR and finance, and still maintains direct relationships with every major client. That visibility matters because, as she explains, clients need to know leadership is invested in their business. Her team structure also breaks down roles by what percentage of their time is spent leading, managing, or making. This clarity helps people grow without being shoved into management if it's not something they want for their careers. This way, they get to build their unique path within the agency, a key to keeping them happy with their work. Quarterly goals, regular feedback, and individualized growth paths keep everyone aligned and fulfilled — a framework that scales culture without micromanagement. Furthermore, constant feedback, quarterly goals, and individualized growth paths help keep everyone aligned and fulfilled. Why Staying Independent Still Wins for Some Agencies Does a 75-year-old independent agency get offers from the big holding companies? They do, actually; all the time. Jennifer says M&A emails land in her inbox daily. But she's not interested. "We've had serious talks with other agencies," she said, "but we've said no every time. Staying independent is critical to our success." If they sold, they'd probably start making decisions for investors instead of their people and be back in the big agency world she escaped. For Jennifer, independence isn't just about control, it's about protecting the culture that makes their agency different. The freedom to put clients and people first is what keeps the agency thriving. Preparing for the Future: AI's Impact on Agency Talent Jennifer's not blind to the future. She's already planning staffing and financial strategy through 2030, a move that would make most agencies sweat. One question she's wrestling with: how AI will change entry-level roles and career paths. "AI has been an incredible tool and has allowed us to be more efficient," she said. "But if it takes away too much of the junior work, where do mid-level people come from five years from now?" The truth is that the jobs won't vanish, they'll evolve. Junior people using AI can perform at mid-level. Mid-level people can perform like senior leaders. You'll just need fewer of them. Still, Jennifer sees it as a call to action for colleagues and agency leaders alike: train people not just in the AI tools, but in critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and the human side of marketing. Thom Francis welcomes poets Brian Liston and Joan Goodman, who shared their work at the Poetic License Poetry Reading and Open Mic at the Honest Weight Food Co-op on Monday, October 14, 2024. — Poetic License celebrates the creative intersections of poetry and visual art by bringing together writers from Hudson Valley Writers Guild and artists from the Upstate Artists Guild. Last year's exhibit showcased 42 pieces of art, created by 24 artists, each responding to poems written by 23 regional and national poets. This fusion of imagery and language gives us a fresh look at how art can interpret, transform, and reimagine the written word. On October 14, 2024, poets featured in the exhibit were invited to read their work in a special poetry reading hosted by local photographer and activist Dan Wilcox. Poets shared their pieces while surrounded by the very art they inspired—a full-circle moment for words and visuals alike. Today, we're thrilled to bring you the voices of two of those poets: Brian Liston, who is the only poet who has had his poetry appear in all three Poetic License exhibits, and Joan Goodman, who was a reader in the open mic portion of the evening. — The 2025 edition of Poetic License exhibit has moved across the river and is now on view at the Honest Weight Food Co-op in Albany through November 16. There will be an Artist Reception and Poetry Reading event as part of Albany's First Friday on November 7, 2025. For more information on Poetic License and its upcoming events, go to https://poeticlicensealbany.com. And while you are there, you can read the poems and view the art that is featured in the show.

She's specifically seeking clinical research or clinical trials work — not another medical assistant role — because she wants to explore new sides of healthcare before committing to medical school. They discuss the pressure of being selective while also needing to secure something, and how different this process feels when you're still a student versus someone with a mortgage and kids to support. The conversation shifts to bigger healthcare issues: the loss of SNAP benefits for November, Nadia's past research on sanctuary policies and undocumented immigrants' access to food stamps and prenatal care, and how these social determinants of health matter for doctors. Most game studios think they have a talent problem. They don't. They have a structure problem.Chris Casanova spent 15+ years as a producer across Microsoft Xbox, Mojang (Minecraft), Relic Entertainment, Offworld Industries, and Hypixel Studios. He's watched talented teams fail repeatedly—not from lack of skill, but from organizational friction.Traditional studios organize around craft silos: design departments, engineering departments, art departments. Every feature requires handoffs. Every handoff loses fidelity. The result? Friction, misalignment, wasted iteration, and missed deadlines.Chris reveals the alternative: cross-functional outcome teams of 5-9 people who own their results from concept to ship.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━TIMESTAMPS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━00:00 - Chris's background: Xbox, Mojang, Relic02:59 - Why he wrote "Structure Teams to Win"06:54 - The problem with craft-based teams08:17 - Outcome teams: The procedural worlds example18:32 - Why 5-9 people is optimal team size24:10 - Three organizational layers explained31:48 - When leaders resist change42:20 - The political reality of reorganization47:15 - Case study: 70-person AA co-op shooter58:07 - Advice for small teams (10 people)01:01:06 - How to connect with Chris━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━KEY INSIGHTS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━THE PROBLEMS:- Design creates specs without context → over-engineered solutions- Art produces assets without validation → endless iteration- QA receives unclear requirements → irrelevant bug reports- Every handoff loses the original intentTHE SOLUTION:Cross-functional teams of 5-9 people with:→ Mixed disciplines (designers, engineers, artists, QA embedded)→ Clear mission and measurable KPIs→ Everything needed to own their outcome→ Minimal handoffs, maximum collaborationREAL EXAMPLE:Procedural worlds team mission: "Every world seed feels fresh, readable, performant"KPI: Biome novelty per minuteTeam: Generation engineers, world designers, environment artists, technical artists, QA━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━70-PERSON STUDIO STRUCTURE━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Chris provides detailed org structure for AA co-op shooter:- Combat & Gameplay (15 people, 2 teams)- Progression & Economy (10 people, 2 teams)- Social & Co-Op (12 people, 2 teams)- Content & Live Ops (15 people, 2 teams)- World & Narrative (10 people, 1 team)- Technical Foundation (8 people, 1 team)Each team has 5-9 people with mixed disciplines focused on specific outcomes.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━THE HARD TRUTHS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Some leaders won't make the transition from managing 30 people to being on a team of 8. Back in late August - the first time I recorded an episode of the pod "out of sequence" - I met up with my friend Eric Cooper, known to most in the Philly music scene as Coop. Coop is a virtuoso bass player who let's loose in bands like the Funky T, but also plays with singer songwriters like Emily Drinker and John Gilbride. His solo project Coop A Loopfeatures trippy melodic soundscapes created primarily on bass guitar using loops, effects pedals, and a whole lot of imagination. Our meet-up at Bob's Diner in Roxborough (a popular spot, having been the setting of three episodes of the show) was on a sunny Sunday Morning. Breakfast was definitely in the cards and I was stunned to hear that Bob's offers four.. count 'em.. FOUR sausage options. Its was the perfect setting to listen to Coop's musical origin story, which began in Plymouth Meeting, just outside of Philadelphia. After starting out on drums (as many of us do), Coop serendipitously began playing a borrowed bass, which a friend lent him as a diversion when Coop broke his ankle. A true virtuoso on the instrument, Coop looks to do so much more with the bass than most of us can even imagine. His live performances range from just himself onstage with a loop station and a pedal board, to bringing a full band that includes fellow members of the Funky T as well as drummer and previous guest on this very show, Rob Tait. I recently saw Coop in full band mode at an event called Jam on the Grass, which showcased not his talent but a pretty wicked sense of humor too, as he held up a fully realistic looking box of cereal he dubbed "Coop A Loops" and extolled the virtues of its 9 essential vitamins and minerals before declaring it "RFK-approved." Impossible not to be a fan :)Hope you enjoy this great conversation!

September 4, 2025 Randy Lee, former CFO of Puget Consumer Co-op (PCC Community Markets). Randy reflects on his career, share insights from his nearly 50 years in the food co-op sector, and offers his thoughts on the future of food cooperatives. Randy's journey with PCC began in 1970, when the co-op had just one storefront, 650 members, and $66,000 in revenue. Rising quickly from store manager to CFO, Randy helped transform PCC into the nation's largest consumer-owned grocer, now serving over 100,000 members across 16 stores with $450 million in annual revenue. His leadership extended beyond finance—he championed farmland preservation, helped launch the Washington Farmland Trust, and supported initiatives that provided 1.5 million meals to communities in need and brought cooking classes to more than 7,000 students. Randy's vision for cooperation reached beyond PCC. He was a founding member of the National Cooperative Grocers Association (now National Co+op Grocers), where he served on the board for nearly two decades and played a pivotal role in securing groundbreaking purchasing contracts that strengthened co-ops nationwide. For his lifelong dedication and personification of cooperative values, Randy Lee was inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame, October 9, in Washington, DC. For more info visit Heroes.coop

Seven detainees walked away with diplomas in hand—proof that change is possible, even behind bars. Since the program launched in March 2024, over 30 detainees have earned their GEDs. The ceremony was heartfelt, with speeches from Chief Deputy Rhonda Anderson, Col. Michael Williams, and Dr. Kim Kranzlin of Cobb Adult Education. The program isn’t easy—four subjects, a minimum score of 145, and 40+ hours of study. But for these seven, it’s a step toward something better. STORY 2: ACT scores increase in Cobb, dip in Marietta  ACT scores are in, and Cobb County is celebrating its highest average in four years, while Marietta High saw a slight dip. Cobb’s average jumped to 23.7 (up 0.9 points), while Marietta landed at 22.2 (down 0.5). Both still outpaced state (21.4) and national (19.4) averages. Wheeler High led Cobb with a stellar 28.5 average, even climbing 2.5 points from last year. Meanwhile, Marietta students continued to outperform state and national peers in every subject, despite the slight drop. “Success takes time,” said Marietta Superintendent Grant Rivera. “Hard work and curiosity drive our students forward.” Georgia students, for the ninth year, beat the national average. STORY 3: KSU student arrested after protesting Charlie Kirk memorial  A protest at Kennesaw State University’s memorial for conservative activist Charlie Kirk ended in chaos Tuesday night, with one student, Luca Compiani, 18, arrested on charges of battery and obstruction. According to police, Compiani “intentionally” bumped into KSU Police Capt. Timothy Murphy in a “provoking manner” and fled when confronted. Protesters, however, claim the situation was escalated unnecessarily, calling the arrest “a gross abuse of authority.” The memorial, hosted by Young Americans for Liberty, drew both supporters and protesters. Some shouted chants, others threw ketchup at a flag. Despite the tension, organizers said the event achieved its goal: promoting free speech—even amid dissent. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.799.6810 for more info.  We’ll be right back. Break: Ingles Markets 10 STORY 4: 1,100+ voters cast ballots on Day 1 of early voting  Nearly 1,200 Cobb County voters turned out Monday for the first day of early voting, with Marietta leading the charge. Of the 1,193 ballots cast, 481 came from the Cobb Elections Main Office, while Mableton saw 221 voters at the South Cobb Community Center. Michael D’Itri, acting director of Cobb Elections, said turnout usually starts strong, dips mid-period, then surges in the final days. For Marietta voter Chris Danos, 28, the mayoral race is top of mind. “We need better transportation options,” he said. Meanwhile, Dan and Vicki Rupnow, who moved from Atlanta, love Marietta’s walkability and lighter traffic. “It’s perfect for us,” they said.
